Hey! Headed to Philly this weekend with my husband and we would like any suggestions on a great spot to watch the Buckeye game. We are headed to the Eagles/Giants game on Sunday, I sure hope we still have NFL football being played. This is our first time in Philly, so any comments about things to do/see are appreciated. Thanks!

I went to school in Philly and went to a Temple game a few weeks ago and then headed to Fox & Hound on spruce street. I believe they are an OSU bar (they had the sound on for the OSU vs Miami(OH) game at least). they had 2 rows of bar seating and then a sit down area and TV's pretty much everywhere that were playing the OSU game as well as alot of the other big 10 games. It wasnt a crazy rowdy(and there were a lot of PSU fans seeing as thats lion country) but if you wants some beer & food served by attractive waitresses for an OSU Game you could do worse.
Fox and Hound
1501 Spruce Street, Philadelphia, PA
The alumni bar is Ladder 15 at 1528 Spruce. All the TVs are set to OSU, with the sound on, and it's usually 100 percent Buckeye fans. It's a refurbished fire house so there's a little more character than your average chain restaurant and the food is slightly better there, too.
Other thoughts:
-- Stay away from Pat's and Geno's if you're looking for a cheesesteak. It's a tourist spot. If you have a car and have to get a cheesesteak, Tony Luke's or John's Roast Pork would serve you well.
-- Google Philadelphia Magic Gardens. If its your kind of thing it's only $5 and is one of the most under appreciated attractions, in my opinion.
-- The Italian Market and Reading Terminal Market are awesome.
-- The Liberty Bell, Constitution Hall, Betsy Ross' house, Ben Franklin's grave are all right near each other. The "Rocky Steps" are a $10-$12 cab ride away.
-- Let me know if you have any specific questions. I live in the area so there's isn't much I can't tell you.
As Philly White stated, Ladder 15 is from my experience the best spot for watching the game. I'll be there this weekend. The stretch of Sansom St. where it's located has many a place to bar hop.
I second the recommendation for the Reading Terminal, better sandwiches than cheesesteaks lie within... not to mention a plethora of other culinary delights.
I like the Mutter Museum, but then again I'm strange. It's close to the alumni bar fwiw.
If you & / or hubby appreciate Belgian Beer, Monk's Cafe is the best place to indulge this side of the Atlantic.
Like Philly White, I can probably give an informed opinion / suggestion if you have any particular questions.
I know it sounds crazy, but I miss Yuengling out here in Texas =( Drink one for me in Philly!
You're spot on about Monk's. Eulogy is also fantastic if you're in Old City. Every city has their pluses and minuses, but Philly does beer as well as any city in the country so you'll do fine where ever you end up. We don't do cocktails as well as a city our size should, but Franklin Mortgage and Investment, Hop Sing Laundromat (speakeasys, hence the names) and Southwark get national praise if you're looking for something strong.
Thanks for the great comments! I know we are going to the Mutter Museum on Saturday before the game so we probably will stop at Ladder 15 to watch the Buckeyes. We'll be the ones in scarlet and gray. lol I will also look up that Philadelphia Magic Garden.
