During his weekly call-in show on 97.1 The Fan in Columbus – which we have started calling the Urban Power Hour – Meyer dropped a nice, juicy morsel for Ohio State fans to chew on.
While discussing the Buckeyes’ struggles defensively, Jim Lachey, one of the hosts of the call-in show, mentioned that Ohio State is first in the Big Ten in turnover margin this season, while Michigan ranks last after four games.
“I hope they’re last in everything,” Meyer said casually, as if he was reciting part of the Pledge of Allegiance.
It seemed like yesterday that Urban and Hoke were eating ribs together at the coaches' camp up north. Everybody thinks it. I'm glad Urban said it. Here's hoping Hoke fires some shots of his own.

Heres to hoping Hoke realizes he sucks.
There are rivalries and then there's The Game. Like Tress, Urban gets it.
Hail...
Meyer and Hoke werent eating ribs together it was more Urban trying to fend off starvation before Home ate the whole hog...
Something tells me Jabba will come up with some 'awesome' Ohio retort
Here's to Hoke realizing he eats one too many cheeseburgers at every meal.
lol...i love the shots at the team up north whenever he can get them in. In all reality though, as one famous rapper to another..."talk is cheap mother f*(ker" He needs to follow it up with a big win this weekend and then i'll fully jump on the Meyer bandwagon.

+1 Browny. Here's to a Buckeye victory, tomorrow! Cheers!

priceless
O H I O is the Buckeye State
Hail, are you saying you definitely consider MSU a bigger rival than tOSU? If so, it's sorta funny we consider TTUN our biggest rival, and we always hear from other opposing fanbases how we are their rival (aw, isn't that cute), but our biggest rival doesn't even consider us their biggest rival...
Hail no I didn't say that! OSU is our biggest rival. Then Sparty, then ND (at least for now), then Minnesota, I guess (since there's a trophy).
If you inferred that from my comment rooting for an OSU victory, it's because it benefits us more than Sparty beating OSU. In fact, tomorrow is a meteor game for me.

My first thought when I saw this was "Wow, Tress would have never said that"> How refreshing.
"It's just another case of there you are". ~ Doc (1918-2012)
After living in MI for 6 years, the rivalry up there is something other than The Game. It's about state pride in that series. The Game is about football supremecy. The two heavyweights of the conference getting to duke it out at the end of the season for all of the marbles. Also, when is Dave Brandon going to announce scUM's new drive to end type 2 Diabetes headed up by Brady Hoke and Wilford Brimley?
-The Aristocrats!
Hail - I was pondering the same sort of thing when deciding who I wanted to lose tonight between Wisconsin and Nebraska... If my team isn't playing, then you root for the team from the other division to win. (Though if we were in Nebraska's division, it will be very difficult to root for Wisconsn... really don't like them!)
Go Huskers! (9/29 only)
There is a school of thought that it is good for the rivalry for TTUN to do well (except against the Buckeyes). I am glad that Urban does not subscribe to that idea. My second favorite team will always be whoever is playing TTUN.
I hope he's right!
@ Hail - When you say "Meteor Game" am I to refer that if a meteor hit the field and wiped out both teams, you'd be happy? Never heard it referred to that way but it sounds kind of like my wish for mutual destruction during the Michigan/ND game.

The only thing Hoke is going to fire up is the BBQ, has he been fed today?
Tomorrow
Urban simply managed to grab A RIB from the dish before Hoke inhaled them all. Meyer had to get a touch of nutrition to hold up for the day. He had every right to be completely disgusted after that display of selfishness from the fat man and Michigan team cheerleader. Thank you coach Meyer for having a sack.
Im glad that Urban gets the rivalry and has embraced it.

I just wish he would have said "I hope they're last in everything, they suck. On November 24th we will imprint THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY on Hokes fat ass so he never forgets which team he's referring to the next time he's babbling in public. A man can dream, can't he?
An angry fan...rooting for an angry team...led by angry coaches
Love this comment hope there are many more of these to come
@Hail re "meteor": That's how I feel when ND/scUM play! Glad to hear that its not my own crazy.

Nice job Meyer.... I can't wait to Michigan week so I can start a thread called, "Hoke Jokes"
Ohio State's band SLAUGHTERED Michigan's band. If this were a football game, it would have been Florida State vs. Savannah State. - SB Nation following OSU vs. UM 2012
This is great. Urban Meyer doesn't give a damn for you know what.
Class of 2010.
Its nice to see a coach that gets the importance of "The Game" but isn't so diplomatic about it. I don't want to see bulletin board material coming out each week but his apparent distaste for TTUN is going to be quite entertaining for the next few years.
I'm just happy Urban didn't lose a finger going for that rib.
Minnesota still plays football?
