PHONE'S RINGING -- IT'S URBAN ON THE LINE
I know it may be a moot point to report on Timmons but a few may still be interested. 1 touch 82 yd TD.
Don't know about specific stats but Drew Barker has a pass Td and a rush Td so far, believe its halftime.
Favorite Buckeye: Obviously BJ Mullens
I'm at the Springfield / Wayne game watching Thaddeus and Davonte James....42-0 Wayne at half. Springfield might be one of the worst high school teams I've ever seen. Thaddeus had one good reception on an underthrow but everything else his way has been intercepted or really poorly thrown. Davonte looks small. Needs to spend more ttime in the weight room because he can't get off blocks atall.
Very very muddy field tonight. 3 touches 110 yds 2 TDs for Timmons at halftime
JC Shurburt, head of recruiting for 247sports said Barker was having a big game tonight.
Shelton Gibson had a 70 yard TD catch
Sorry Urban, Woody is still my favorite
JT Barrett 8-12 160 Yds TD 22 car 130 yds 2TD
Jalin Marshall 55 yard TD run

Jalin Marshall with a 42 yard pass.
1h TweetItOrBeatIt @KingOfDaMiddie
Jalin Marshall injured
Hopefully nothing serious
Kyle Trout also went down tonight, not sure if serious
On a field that got 4 inches of rain Timmons only got 5 touches for 125 yds and 2 TDs and also an interception returned 50 yards. Probably the first game I have seen him play where he had to depend on his balanc more than his speed but with 2 men lined up against him and a safety gave him few opportunities Just happy on a field as muddy as this one was nobody got injured
Apparently Marshall had cramps and came back in to finish the game.
James Quick had 8 catches for 144 yards and a TD against rival St. X. Also, was voted as Great American Rivalry Series MVP.
Was listening to the game online and apparently his TD was an absolutely insane catch and run, broadcaster said it might be best run from Quick he has ever seen. Will post video if I can find it.
Quick and Gibson/foster would certainly be a nice way to finish up our 2013 class
Glad Jalin was OK.
mck ath eric glover williams got bottled up last night for only 54 yds rushing and 57 passing. massilon jackson had 2-3 kids spying him everyplay, so what did egw and mck do, give it up on the read option to the rb jarrod smith ('14) who rushed for 161 yds on 14 carries, i like the fact that egw and the staff saw jackson game plan and saw what the def was doing and took what they def was giving them and they won 40-16. expect these bulldogs to make a nice run in the playoffs alot of talent on offense and defense you key on egw and the tailbacks go nuts take away the rb and egw goes off pick you poison with these pups.
stark county football
Statistics from current season for Ky athletes of interest. Tried finding James Quick's statistics but could not find every game so I did not include. I included Woodsides stats because he has gone to several camps in Ohio and is signed for Toledo.

^^^ You have Barker's rushing stats as well?
I realize Timmons doesnt play against the greatest competition.. but those numbers are flat out unreal
The only question I have about those Timmons numbers is why, if the guy is averaging over 90 yards per return, he doesn't have more than 2 returns?
Not sure if people remember but Timmons stats remind me of when Joe McKnight the U$C rb played in HS and put up the most ridiculous stats you will ever see. Does anyone have Taivon Jacobs stats? Im watching the WV game and hope he can turn out to be similar to Tavon Austin cause that kid is just fun to watch and really good.
Bucknuts was reporting that C. Fields is a likely transfer, so Timmons patience may pay off.
I wish that Fields got more of a chance. I thought he had potential
"Love my State, hate the football"
Jalen Hurd 212 rushing 3 touchtowns, 71 yards catch touchdown and a interception.
For season 1874 yards rushing and 25 tochdowns and 11.5 yard average for rushing.
6-foot-3, 210-pound junior
Corn Elder Last night 206 rushing on 13 att.
rfor the seaon 1391 rushing on 127 att.
2 rec for 40 yards and a sack.
Friday they play Alex Bars and Montgomery Bell Academy
Ahh Saturday. Actually a better question would be. What were they thinking? For the 2 times they did kick off to him. 95% of the time teams choose to take a chance with an on side kick rather than to kick off to him.
HolyBuckeye. I will get Barkers rushing stats. Im sure they will be impressive Added
golden Buckeye. I agree about the comp level to a degree but also realize the reason he only gets 6 touches per game is because of the triple coverage he gets as a receiver opens up everyone else. When he lines up as RB the entire defense lines up to stop him. My guess is that if he played for Moeller the numbers would be even better.
IMO, results do the talking and he will be a Buckeye...
Really hope Timmons get an offer. I know it's cliche but he reminds me somuch of Percy Harvin. He's a danger whether he's running, catching, or returning. He will see action early here if he gets an offer
Eagle_Eye i hope that the recent decision of derrick henry to go to bama helps us with the Jalen Hurd situation as he is certainly is putting up ridiculous stats and seems to be a beast. It is a shame about Fields as i thought he hand reliable hands but if his scholie goes to Timmons than thats a chance i would certainly take bring him in and just find a way to get him the ball. I dont need to tell Waycracken that Timmons could def help us in the return game as i think he could thrive in it and give us a weapon there we havent had since TGII. Lastly, im pumped for this game today lets hope our boys play a cmplete game in all three phases! O-H!
Fields' possible transfer doesn't change the scholarship number, people. That's why we take over the limit, expected attrition.
Has DRew BAker concor team played HIghlands. HIghlands has the 2 most state championship in Ky When SHawn Alenander was. At boone , I Don,t think he ever beaty HIghlands.
Drews Conner team would not compete with Highlands. I went back through 2007 and they never played. Conners best teams has been recent teams with Barker. I think this years Conner team could probably score 30 on Highlands but give up 60
What is Timmons' competition like? What Ohio division is it comparable to? I saw a highlight video of him, and the competition looked like middle schoolers.
Timmons team would run up 60 against Springfield and score against any other team as well. 4 players on his team runs 4.5 or less and a 6'3" 260 RB that runs 4.6. Not many teams anywhere would be faster than Franklin County. Im from Ohio and I know his team would be competitive with Trotwood. What speed and vision you see on that video cannot be duplicated. You have a kid that runs a 4.31 and doesnt lose a step with pads. I agree that he can make his comp level look like middle schoolers but thats what all the great ones do. I saw a game on TV with Trotwood and they looked like a Frshman team! So what!!! Burrows is still a D1 stud!!
Timmons has led his team to a 18-1 record in these past two years. He is not only fast and a good player. Hes a winner.
Calm down waycraken. I wasn't trying to bash Timmons. I didn't say his team couldn't compete with better teams. I just wanted an idea of what level his competition is at. I have never watched Kentucky football, so I have no idea about their divisions and wanted to know what Ohio division his competition is comparable to.
GWAC. Just like the GWAC there are 3 pretty good teams They would be competitive with Ohio Div 2. One of there opponents would have been comp level D6. The rest of their opponents would be D2-3 level. They will not play anyone comparable to Ohios D1 level teams.
why do we bash timmons but love barker bec they play simialr competition. from what ive seen barker is playing against scrubs similar to timmons competition but we bash timmons for who he plays but barker gets a pass. i have barker as my number 1 qb for 2014 im not trying to bash him or hate jw why the discrepancy between the 2 when it comes to who they compete against. both play in similar leagues divisions competition. give me them both
ODEEZ. I have been thinking that same thing but have refrained because I like Barker also irregardless of who they play. Talent and speed is what we should all be looking for. Its the hidden gems that are harder to find but can give the highest reward. Look at the NFL rosters. These coaches are finding players from all divisions and comp levels. Patriot teams are stocked with hidden gems.
that is for sure way, cecil shorts fro jacksonville who had a long game cinching td is from mount union and so is pierre garcon so 2 good nfl receivers come from d3 college so this just illustrates ur point some
Thanks waycraken. Will they face any higher caliber teams in the state playoffs? I'm assuming they are in different division than Quick's team? Does Kentucky have more strict rules about transferring than Ohio schools? It seems like most elite kids in Ohio tend to find a way to transfer to the big schools.
When Shaun Alexander was at Boone, Boone and Highlands where in completely different divisions. Highlands may have won the state that year but it was in AAA. Boone and Alexander lost to Trinity in the AAAA state championship game.
Highlands isn't in Conner's division either. Conner is a AAAAA team this year. Highlands is AAAA. They aren't even in the same division in state play. Conner doesn't play Highlands this year, and rest assured, Highlands would beat them. Conner has lost to lesser programs this year so far. Barker has still played damn good though, it's not his fault the defense sucks.
Timmons and Franklin County I believe are 5(A) which means they avoid Trinity, St. X, Highlands, and other power teams from other divisions. I don'tk now who they will or won't play but, they'll definitely miss the teams in the playoffs that are best in state.
That being said, they are in the 2nd highest division in KY high school football so they'll surely play some bigger schools, but 4(A) and 6A have better programs.
Waycraken, this is why I bashed you... You talk way to much about this kid, as if he is your son. Please just calm down....
Waycraken hasn't said anything warranting him to need to "calm down." He has found a kid that he really believes should be a bucleye (many share his opinion, including myself). There is nothing wrong with him reporting the kids stats and showing his enthusiasm over this kid
I'm of the belief that Timmons will be one hell of a college player. The staff obviously has a reason why they like others more at this point, but I wouldn't be disappointed if he ended up a Buckeye that's for sure.
Timmons team is in the same division as Bowling Green and John Hardin. Both of those teams could beat Highlands and Franklin County could as well. Bowling Green has already beaten St X this year. Offensively Franklin County could hang with any team in the state. Unfortunately Timmons team has the same problem as Conner (defense)and that is there weakness. Franklin County averages 61.5 pts a game.
Who is this Timmons you speak of..and why do I keep seeing his name written on this site?
Buckeyes125. I have two sons that played It is so much easier to watch the games and believe it or not more enjoyable in the sense of the stress when your sons are playing. I wish I could have had this laid back feeling when they played. I did do a little better when my oldest son played at a small college. I do wish for good things to happen to good people.
Buckeye Jason. You can look up Ryan Timmons Hudl to view his film. 2x state sprint champ and on the cusp of receiving an offer. Named best player in state (tied with Quick). Led the Nation in yds per carry last year but because he only played 2 qtrs a game last year he came up a few carries shy of receiving the award.
Ok. Are you related to him in any way shape or form?
I hear the same thing about Highlands every year though. This team is just as good, or that team can beat them, then Highlands plays that team and hangs 50 or 60 on them. The least Highlands has scored all year is 35 points, and it was against their arch rival in the area Cov Cath. Last year regular season Cov Cath(Edit) hung with and almost upset Highlands, then they played in the playoffs and Highlands completely destroyed them.
I'll take Highlands over any school in Kentucky not named Trinity.
USA today's highschool site has Highlands ranked number 2 in Kentucky. Bowling Green and Hardin are 3 and 5, Franklin County is 13th. Consequently, Cov Cath, The team Highlands just beat by 2 TD's was 8th. Scott County is 10th and Highlands put up 60 on them.
Highlands is a great team. My point was Trinity and then the rest BG beat StX i think about the same as Trinity. Franklin County is ranked near the top 10 irregardless of class the best they will play before playoffs is Anderson County, a team they beat I believe 49-21 last year. The last 3 teams they play this year have a combined record of 14-5. Against these 3 schools last year Timmons scored14 TDs.
I'm not knocking Timmons, I'm just saying they aren't going to be playing teams that will get the folks who say he isn't playing the same amount of competition as Quick satisfied. I think there's exactly 1 team in Kentucky that would beat Highlands. They've won a state title in their divsion, which has changed since 2007, and they are smacking fools again this year. Highlands has lost 2 games since 2007, 1 to a Kentucky team, the other to Colerain. Until someone does it, I don't believe anyone in Kentucky beats Highlands.
I would say it's Trinity, then Highlands, then EVERYONE else. I would love to see a Highlands Trinity matchup myself. Trinity probably wins, but I'm guessing it'd be a pretty damn good game. Not sure Trinity has matched up with the offense Highlands has.
To be clear, I absolutely HATE Highlands too. They are in NKY and I played baseball and basketball against that school. They recruit, they are arrogant, and I always want them to lose. They just never do.
How many Kentucky players have we offered in the last 5 years, 2? Whiting and Quick.
Trinity scrimmage Highlands this year 1 week before the season began. If I remember correctly the score was something like 62-7 at half time and most said Trinity could have ran it to 100 if they had wanted. I know thats pre season and for real I dont think it would be that bad again.
Yeah, I'm not going to take too much away from a scrimmage though. Only game Highlands will have a shot at losing on their schedule this year is Elder, but Elder isn't great and Highlands beat them last year too. You know what they say about playing and beating up on a GCL team(I kid). I'd like to see them play a real game just the same. In the past Highlands has done well when playing the big Louisville schools, and they usually compete with the Elders and Colerains when they go over to play them as well.
Jason. Normal year for Ohio but for Ky 2013 class is exceptional. There are many others beside Quick and Timmons ranked highly. Maybe the best ever class out of Ky this year.
I think thats what makes Highlands better. Coaches that know the game and the fundamentals. Athlete wise there normally no better.
They don't have a Timmons or Quick most years, but both Guiduligis were pretty good. Smith and Lorenzon were freaks of nature, Brent Grover was good, Collinsworth's kid too. They definitely have had their share of great players. Definitely not as many as a team like Trinity, they have a much bigger recruiting base and higher payroll lol.
Kentucky definitely doesn't typically have great classes, but there have been quite a few notable recruits lately. Last year Dixie Heights QB from here in NKY went to Auburn. He's already been kicked out of the school, didn't even get to start the season. We all know about Barker. Trinity has a lot of kids that'll be going D-1. Timmons, and many others. Not sure if certain areas developed better youth football a few years back or it's just a flukey couple of years or what, but there definitely is better than normal talent coming from the Bluegrass state the last couple years.
You really have to resapect the efforts of this kid no matter what, he worked his tail off to get noticed by OSU. Competition and schedules you cannot control, just perform and give 110% percent each week. Really hope there is a spot for him as it is hard to overlook some of the offers he has on the table to date.
Do you guys see Timmons as more of a slot guy or could he be a #1 type WR? If he can play outside, then I would definitely want him, if we miss out on Quick. If he is more of a slot guy, then I can see why he has not been offered, since Jacobs and possibly Marshall would fill that role.
It blows my mind that any Timmons post gets a zillion comments because people want to bash the kid. Urban knows what he's doing. He looks right to have pursued Diggs w a fury and let davonte Neal walk. I'm sure he will make the right move on Timmons.
Agreed @ Statutorygory
Trotwood-Madison. Once a Ram, Always a Ram.
It never makes sense to me why people bash him for his competition, yet the same people will rave about Barker for the 2014 class and he plays either the same or worse competition than Timmons.
Yea talbz i had a post earlier in this thread saying
tht i agree i think its funny
Barker vs Timmons is the perfect comparison.
Ausmos. With coaching Timmons could become a #1 WR type. He is triple teamed so much that Im not sure of the answer to that question. His team uses him in large part as decoy because of the amount of coverage he receives. That is why he is only averaging 6-8 touches a game. His body type is beginning to look more like a strong RB than a thin WR. I think it is limit less on how he could be used.
Anyone know what kind of competition Ezekiel Elliott faces? He is another guy that is putting up some crazy stats.
Zek is killing it. I have no idea his level of competition, but itll be one crazy Senior highlight reel.
I believe I've heard Zeke plays average competition. Nothing special, but nothing as poor as Deveon Smith's league. That kid is going to special at OSU, he reporting early? If so he can make an impact next year, as he will be our only speed back with Hall graduating. If not he still may make an impact later in the season.
He said in interview with someone on this site back when he committed that he will not be enrolling early.
Mike Mitchell had 19 tackles, 2 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, and a 100 yard kickoff return for touchdown. He is averaging close to 19 tackles per game. His brother, Mickey, sounds like he is going to be a good dual threat QB. He had 235 yards rushing and is only a sophomore.
Mickey Mitchell will most likely play basketball in college, hopefully following his brother to tOSU
