Bias aside, and that will probably be a tough sell to a Buckeye message board, but what's more intriguing, Boise State vs Michigan State, Alabama vs UM, or Urban's first game?
For me, just because OSU is playing Miami (OH), I'd have to say the Alabama game. I'm more intrigued about Cal coming in than the opener, facing a BCS level school.

I am certainly intrigued by all of them, but seeing Bama flex muscles against scUM will be very interesting. I can't think of 2 teams I hate more right now.
vacuuming sucks
Unbias... UM vs AL is the easy choice. Lots of coaches are having their first games and I could care less. Seems like if I didn't like OSU I wouldn't care. UM v AL is a big time game that irregardless of your team is worth watching.
Intriguing, alabama vs mich. Anticipated Osu VS Miami
Rooting for Scum to win, Mich st. to win,
I don't know about intriguing but the only game I care about this weekend is the buckeyes! All else could not exist for all I care! If I owned a bar, it would be BUCKEYES 24/7!!!
^^^ I think you need to open a bar and call it that.... Perfect!
Michigan State vs Boise St. I have to race home to watch that game. I wanna see how Boise bounces back from losing players, and same with Mich st. And also to see how an aerial offense does against a stout mich st defense. I am excited for this one. (but of course, OSU tops the list for me)
DubJay gots it. Want to see what Meyer has been up to for the past few months and then...
Boise on the road with a new QB, does the Petersen magic hold or do they get Tressel'd/Dantonio'd.
All 3 are about the same to me. I want to see how the Buckeyes' offense looks, how Mich St. looks with a new QB, and I want to see how good scUM can be... I think we beat Mich St and scUM both this year, but I'm interested in seeing how all 3 teams look early on... After 10+ years of Tressel ball I can't wait to see Urban put up 60!!!!
For everyone else but us, it's Bama vs. TTUN in a landslide. The elite of the SEC against the supposed elite of the B1G; how does the B1G stack up?
Have to say I'm pretty intrigued by all 3. All have story lines that could impact the conference all season; OSU resurgence, TTUN back to relevant, SEC vs. B1G parity or not, Boise playing with the big boys or not.
When told OSU set school record for 50+ games this year, UFM said "That's good. We're gonna break that next year."
Frankly, I am not insterested in seeing a Boise team that just named their starter at QB today. But, because it is football and on this Friday night I am going to watch it.
Bama vs. scUM has to carry the most importance as far as how it will reflect on each conference, but I agree all three games are pretty intriguing.
Thursday we have South Carolina and Vandy
Friday we can watch Sparty against Boise
Then Saturday we finally get to watch our Buckeyes! Then there's the scUM/Bama game later on.
This is going to be a great week of football...
I’m mostly excited about the idea that OSU wants to put up 70 on Miami! Can’t wait! I think MSU beats Boise easily now that the Kellen Moore era is over…The first and only time I’ll ever say this, I’m rooting for Michigan Saturday. I hate Michigan with a passion, ND with even more of a passion, but those boys down south that call themselves SEC fan has to top the list. It makes me sick hearing about how good they are. For example, today on my lunch break at work we had ESPN on and Matt M. was asked to give his opinion on who would win. His response was something like this. I don’t think it’s a difference in teams, but a difference in conferences…He went on to say how good the SEC was blah blah blah, made me lose my appetite. The best way to shut them up is for Michigan to beat Bama and the Big 10 to have a great opening weekend. Really though, all I care about is putting up 70 on those fratty little fairies from Miami! OH!!!!!!
Be careful writing off Boise. It's a very solid program.
You guys may be correct, but everyone said the same thing when Zabransky left, and then Kellen Moore came along.
It's hard for ANY program to consistently bring quality QB play three starters in a row over 7 + years. I would write off MSU, Iowa, Stanford, etc who I think are all comparable programs.
I wouldn't mind seeing Boise beat MSU like a drum.
Setting bias aside, somewhat, Mich vs. Bama. And even though I've struggled with this briefly, cheering for Mich because a win would be good for our conference, and I want Michigan to be ranked as high as possible so their fall will be hard when they come to play in our house.
MSU v Boise is the most intriguing match up. Bama is going to crap on scUM. I'm most excited for Urban's first game as head coach. As a college football fan, MSU v. Boise takes the cake.
I honestly don't think any of the 3 games are going to be all that entertaining. So, my pick is Urban's first game. After all the team went through last year, then all the excitement about the hiring and recruiting and now the ESPN stuff giving us a little glimpse of camp, I honestly don't think I've ever been so excited for the start of a season.
We're talking about a legendary coach who has some good years left, taking over THE Ohio State University. 20 years from now, Saturday's game is going to be the answer to a trivia Question. Against what team did Urban Meyer get his first win(of many many many wins) as an Ohio State head coach?
No one will remember or care about the implications of MSU/BSU or Bama Michigan then.
OSU07ASU10 I agree with that 100%. Boise having the whole offseason to prepare for a game ie. Oregon, Georgia, Va Tech. How is that not intriquing? With ttun, I just don't see their defensive front 7 causing much of a problem for Bama's o-line. Even with Bama's young and inexperienced defense, they will be too talented and too well coached for ttun imo. But most excited for UFM! Go Bucks!
Boise and MSU for me. Two teams that have been consistently good, but are replacing HUGELY important quarterbacks.
I wouldn't cheer for Michigan if they were playing the Taliban.
