I live a couple hours from OSU, and have never been to a game. an opportunity has presented itself for me to go to a game or multiple. I can't find any prices online so I was wondering if you guys know. What's the lowest a ticket goes for? How much does it cost to get good seats?
I think the face value of all tickets are $70 but people will sell them for more than that obviously to make some coin. The A and B decks are pretty good seats for a reasonable price. Stubhub and ohiostateticketexchange are good places to start looking.
$70 is face. Dont pay more than $100 a ticket unless its a rivalry/big game. You can pretty easily find tickets on craigslist or ebay in B-deck or better or the student section (need a BUCK-ID but it doesnt need to be your ID) for less than $100 (if doing so make sure to pick up the tickets and not have them mailed to ensure theyre authentic)
I wouldnt be discouraged by C deck either. (if thats what it comes down to) If you get a seat in the lower rows, its really not too bad and you see everything. Hope you get to go! You'll never forget it.
Also, get there early and check out the skull session in st john's. 2 hours before kick-off, free and totaly worth it.
I know there's a game saturday, and my ass will be there.
It depends on the game you want to go to... Obviously we know the $70 face value, and if you'd like to try (I've actually gotten a pair of Michigan tickets this way), tickets go on sale to the public for all games Tuesday at 10am on Ticketmaster. If you don't care where you sit, I'd go for a big game (Nebraska/Michigan). You'll likely be in D deck... But D deck for a Michigan game is still 'The Game.' Last year I was able to get a pair to Wisconsin in D deck, Indiana in C deck, and Colorado in B deck all on the same call to ticketmaster. If you want good seats (A or AA, B is a crapshoot that you'll be stuck behind a stone column), just take cash and buy them at the game. You'll likely pay around $100/ticket for Illinois or Purdue this year, and much more for Nebraska (prob. $175/ticket if last yrs Wisconsin game is comparable) or Michigan (since it's our bowl game, prob. $300/350 per ticket at minimum). But Miami (OH), UCF, or UAB may even be cheaper than face value off a scalper (know someone that got a ticket to Eastern Michigan a few yrs ago for $40). Two good scalpers are Benjy outside of Gate 7, or Kelvin (usually hangs out on Lane right outside St. Johns arena). Avoid the bunch on the strip between the stadium and Woody Hayes Dr., they overcharge and usually work with each other to make you think you're getting a good deal when you're not. Hope that helps.
seeing as tickets are a little out of my price range, it looks like I'll be going to a browns game instead :/ thanks for the input though. I appreciate it

Last year there were plenty of tickets below face value, even student tickets which have a lower face value, with the exception of Wisconsin. This year, who knows . . .
all you people are crazy to buy tickets at stub hub , or any online ticket hackers . i have never paid over 100 dollars for a ticket and be in every section of the shoe. i have never paid face value for a game. i have a great system to get in cheap .. and ill never tell hahahahahahha

It isn't hard. If you don't mind missing kick off you can get tickets for 20-50 bucks if you buy them 5 minutes into the game. Still get to see a majority of the game for less money
Sorry Urban, Woody is still my favorite
