I'm all about 11W's making loot however they can....but ADS FOR SCUM GEAR!?!?!?!?! What is this? When I go to read the posts, I have to scroll past all the SCUM Gear images before I read about my beloved Buckeyes on my beloved Buckeye website!!!! Come on man!!!! We can't let them infiltrate our safe haven!!

Never seen one on my screen. What sites have you been visiting? After awhile ads will start mirroring the other sites you visit. I get ads for Autozone, Summit Racing, and Maryland Football (I live in Northern VA).

My dad works for Summit Racing, represent.
But yeah, never seen a Michigan ad, mainly Netflix and online colleges.
Click on "quick bits 8/10" scroll down.
"I'm One Bad Buckeye, and I approve this message."
Still no M!chigan ads.

I see them every now and then but not everyday.... still sucks tho

Wow...WTF^^^^^^^is that? Did those 4 or 5 tTUN fans that love to come here and chat pay you 11W guys and gales to put this up?

To be fair, there are some Michigan fans here. And I would assume there are probably TOSU ads on UM sites as well. If they are there, then theres obviously a market for it.
I don't think they have any control over some of those ads. I believe it was mentioned last summer or the year before or something. I believe they come in from Google or something like that, someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think some of that stuff just ends up popping up now and then.
HAHA! I knew I wasn't going crazy. And for the record @703Buckeye....I NEVER go to SCUM websites or shopping for SCUM gear. PERIOD. :)
It's really not THAT big a deal, I just thought it was funny when I scrolled down to see some posts and check on some stuff I went right past the SCUM gear ad. Haha.

It's a google driven ad frame that flashes ads based upon location and viewing history. I get ads for stuff on the west coast. Drives me nuts!!!!!
people sell ad space on their sites to google, which uses Adsense technology to generate ads that correspond with your browsing history
Edit: NW beat me to it
Google Ad Sense folks...based on your Internet behavior
I SWEAR, I never have looked at a Michigan website in my life .... >.> yeah, never ever..
There appears to be way too much Mich talk around here lately. It almost seems like they're mentioned in every single thread, regardless of how relevant it is....makes me sad :(
"Love my State, hate the football"
That's why I don't see them...well guess that answers One Bad Buckeye's question.

I would like to see all scUM gear out of Ohio but it is probably a losing battle to fight!
Wherever you are, there you be!
Yeah I use chrome with a ad-blocker installed and I dont see any ads at all on my screen. I hate ads!!
Those of you using ad-blockers on this site: You realize that will hurt our mission to remain free, don't you? Do you want to see this site charge for access?
I know they can be annoying at times, but ads are essentially the difference between you paying a yearly subscription rate, like a lot of other sites have.
Jason... does it help to give an ad a token click every once in a while? Do you get paid by the click?
With sites like this, where the ads aren't intrusive or annoying, I usually disable AdBlock. But on sites like Youtube, there's no way I'm going to watch an ad every time I try to watch a video.
I wouldn't cheer for Michigan if they were playing the Taliban.
Honestly, I think the best approach is that if you see an ad that interests you, click on it. Google has a great system for dealing with click fraud, so while it would benefit us if you randomly clicked ads, they'd eventually catch on and may terminate our account.
Thank you. I have strong feelings about the use of ad-blockers on this site. We've done everything in our power to keep the number of ads down, ensure they are unobtrusive (no auto play videos or annoying interstitials, etc.) and we are committed to keeping this site free.
Ok. Glad I asked.
I've had AdBlock since before I started coming here, so I never noticed. Just disabled it for 11warriors. Can Google actually tell the difference between if you see the ad or not?
@Crimson: Thank you. As for your question, yes, Google and other ad networks can tell when ads aren't served because the visitor has a blocker.
I know there are certain ads on the internet that make me want to never visit a website again, but we've tried to keep them clean and not overbearing here and without them, there's just no way we can stay committed to remaining free.
I use AdBlock but have 11W whitelisted the ads here aren't annoying and I enjoy the site so it's not a big deal to me.
Also if you guys use Amazon a lot use the referral link on the bottom, just bookmark it because that also helps out and it doesn't cost you anything!
no add block for me
