Not thrilled about it, if true. At the same time, I wasn't there & don't know the details. What I will hope doesn't happen? Another police report in a few months.

Meyer's first mistake, in my opinion. Here's hoping it doesn't come back to bite him.

The North remembers.

What exactly is the mistake about this? People on this site don't want him on the team mostly because he won't play. Who cares? With the charges lowered his crime is now on par with those of Stoney and Mewhort, who by the way are currently on the team. All three have misdemeanor charges. Worst case scenario he provides special teams play and some much needed depth at LB.

Sorry Urban, Woody is still my favorite

You can't kick a player off for a misdemeanor. Urban has to use the ruling of the legal system, otherwise he is just kicking a kid off the team based on his gut. There wasn't much else he could do in this situation.

If true, I'm glad the situation is being settled.  Now we can move on.  Time to put this situation to bed.  Good luck Storm.

Football season only a couple of pots of coffee away.

I'm not surprised that he was...he's a senior, Meyer already said if the charges are changed then this was an option.  He left the door open for a reason...I don't think Meyer will have to worry about Matt Hayes and others making a living off reporting on this in 5-10 years IMHO.  I'm not a fan of Meyer's circle of trust if that's really what it was...but this as JBlair said above, it needs to be put to bed and time to look forward.

Meyer actually knows the entire situation as opposed to heresay. He spoke to both families involved as well as discussed with the coaching staff and thought this was the best action to take. This does not mean the guy will ever play a down. He will surely be down the depth charts far enough it will be hard for him to see the field. The gal changed her story and charges since reduced. If the last two facts did not change he stays off the team. The right way to go in the given situation.

I'm alright with it.  The girl changed her story, and like most DV cases, the "victim" usually just walked into a door or tripped down the stairs anyway.  Accidents happen, right?  On the other hand, if I were Klein, and I didn't do anything, I'd fight the disorderly conduct charge.  Why should I have that on my record if nothing happened?

Bucktooooooth, heeyaw.

Adding him onto the team will most likely get negative publicity right? if he didn't rejoin the team you wouldn't hear about it on the tv, but when he plays they'll most likely mention his case. That's the only part that stings, but hopefully he plays well and ends his career on a high note, hopefully giving him a chance to reflect and turn things around in his life if necessary.

If Urban talked to the Girl and her family and feels Storm should be reinstated im ok with it and here is why.  No one really knows what really happened except Storm and the Girl and now Urban has heard their story.

This makes me think of a story that a friend went through.  I am not saying that this is what happened but it was brought to my mind.  My friend was at his apartment at 2am and his ex girlfriend started banging on his door relentlessly.  When he finally open the door she barged her way in and started screaming obscenities and yelling "where is that B*tch".  She had broken up with him but also practically stalking him and scaring every girl he met away. She was obviously drunk and he asked her to leave, when she would not he tried as nicely as one can with a screaming lunitic, get her out of his apartment.  She began to hit him and so he had to leave his own apartment and she followed.  As he left his apartment complex he just happened to run into some campus police who witnessed her berating and basically trying to tackle him.  They arrested her and asked if he wanted to press charges and he did not.

Thats the end of that story but what if she told the cops that he had hit her or had laid handon her to get her out of his apartment.  That is a very serious accusation and would have at least been looked into, maybe even arrested him as well.  It would have been on him to prove that he had not hit her. His word against hers.  5 minutes ago he was sleeping and now he could be potentially be arrested.

I know many people have said Storm is a hot head, and he does have assault in his history. but we were not there and dont understand exactly what went down.  I like most would never condone hitting a woman but maybe it was just wrong place at the wrong time sort of thing.  Urban has been very serious about off the field issues especially hitting women, and he does not stand for it at all, so that makes me believe that for the most part this was overblown or a misunderstanding.

I feel since he let Brionte back after he was proven innocent that he had to do the same for Klein. If the story was blown out of proportion and he really didn't slam his girlfriends head agianst a door, then I am glad he is back. It can't hurt.

Kinda clears it all up, he had no choice:

Here is what Bucknuts Boardins House had to say on 24/7 page Thursday MORNING:

**Klein’s Time? … According to a well-placed source, it’s only a matter of time before senior linebacker Storm Klein will re-join Ohio State’s football team.

Klein was arrested for domestic violence and assault on July 6 following a confrontation with the mother of his child. However, on Wednesday, Klein struck a plea deal and was found guilty of disorderly conduct, which is a misdemeanor.

“This puts Urban (Meyer) in a real tough spot because he doesn’t want Storm back on the team,” the source said. “But the bottom line is that Storm was only found guilty of disorderly conduct. If Meyer boots him from the team for that, then he knows he’s setting a precedent that will be very difficult to follow in future seasons. If you kick every player off your team that gets arrested for something minor, you’re going to be kicking a lot of kids off the team.

“Was he going to kick (Bri’onte) Dunn off the team if his disorderly conduct charge stuck? (Dunn was originally cited for possession, then it was reduced to disorderly conduct, then the charges were dropped altogether.) I highly doubt it. And Urban doesn’t want to be that kind of coach that has different rules for different players.”

According to an OSU spokesman, we should know what Meyer plans to do with Klein by this weekend at the latest.

Did OJ do it? Did Casey Anthony do it?  Come on guys, just because the charges were dropped to a misdemeanor doesn't mean DV didn't happen.  Don't be that naive.

There was a hospital visit by this gf/child's mother.  You can't just sweep that away despite the fact that she changed her story.  And the disorderly conduct isn't a "noise violation"...it means he was threatening or causing an inconvenience...TO her.

This is weak in my book.  We thought he had a new "no tolerance" policy or whatever.  Mewhort and Stoney LOSE THEIR FREAKING SCHOLARSHIPS for peeing on a building.  Klein's had issues in the past.  He plead down to the misdemeanor because Urban said if something changed with the charges he would re-consider.  Storm's court date also got pushed back to mid-September...well into the season and at that point nothing would have changed.

@redstorms I honestly don't think he did it on scout bill greene broke down how it went down. I feel Storm is the victim of false accusations from a vindictive woman.
