My question to the staff and fellow fans of ours bucks is what do you think the stat line for our stable of backs will be this year? I'm thinking something like this:
Carlos Hyde 180 carries 900-950 yards and 8/9 tds over 5.0 yards a carry
Rod Smith 70/75 carries 300-350 yards 3/5 TD's 4/4.5 yards a carry
Brionte Dunn 60/80 carries 250/ 350 yards 3/4 TD's 4/4.5 per carry
Jordan Hall 90/110 carries 500/600 6/7 TD's 5/5.5 yards per carry
Now this not including Braxton's stat line which puts around the 2000-2200 yard marker not including his prduction.
How do you guys see it going?

There is no way the 4th RB receives 60-80 carries. No 1 and no 2 should get 90% of carries
I think Hall and Hyde will have similar numbers, even with Hall siting out a few games.
I think you're pretty spot on with the stats.

Your avg Meyer offense at Fl had 36 rushing attempt per game. Round that up to 40 and you are right on target for total attempts. Barring injury i would see no1 getting 200 and no2 getting 160 and 3 getting 60 and 4 getting 20. Only 3 deep in almost every game that counts. Big victories in early part of season gives 3 and 4 most all of their attempts.
I just see us running with braxtons help somehwre in the range 2600- 2800 yards this year with the stable of backs we have, but it is pure specualtion.
I think/hope Hall gets his YPC at or over 6.0
As a team, I think we will top out around 360 carries maximum for our backs, and that includes Braxton.
That being said, I do not see any RB going over 750 yds but I do see Braxton surpassing that.
Not really a wild prediction but I think Hyde and Hall are going to be pretty dead even in yards and carries with Brionte getting the rest.
I'm looking forward to seeing how they use Zeke Elliott in the offense. I assume he will play the role that Demps and Rainey did at UF. We have 2 freshman RB's in Dunn and Ball with Elliott coming in. Somebody could get passed up for carries pretty quick.
Ball and Dunn are pretty damn good! Elliot might have to wait a few years to get on the field.

That would be awesome if Ball and Dunn turn out to be that good. But I gotta tell ya, Zeke looks pretty special. He's Jordan Hall with the jets (and a rocket booster), so when he gets through some of the cracks we've seen Hall get through, the dude is GOOOONE, not tripped up for a ten yard gain. I've never seen a high school back make it look so easy - reminds me a lot of Robert Smith - just looks effortless running the football. 15 yards per carry doesn't lie against any level of competition.
I think the only thing that's going to keep him off of the field is lack of knowing the offense early on. By mid to late season, I think he'll be a real weapon.
+1
I lol'd at the rocket booster comment, love it! Can't wait to see some of these guys coming in, in Urban's offense next year -- Zeke & Marshall will really have some opportunities to take the spotlight.
I also hope Rod Smith is able to make some headlines as well! Great physical specimen and as he keeps improving with ball security he'll be something special as well.
Zach Boren 240 carries 1500 yards 22 TDS
Adam Homan 135 carries 620 yards 7 TDS
^^^you win!!!!

I could see Hall getting quite a few less because of missing some time and also because he will be getting a lot more receptions than the other backs so he has dual roles more than the others. Dunn is unknown because of his legal things, but if he makes it onto the field early before Hall is back and against the weaker non-conference teams he could get up that high along with Smith otherwise I agree with above that Hyde will lead with Braxton and Hall roughly tied for second.
I've said it before, but I think we'll all be impressed with Hyde's numbers and carries this year. I think ~185 carries and around the 1000 yard mark. Johnny11, I think those are good projections. My only adjustment might be for the third string RB (4th when Hall comes back) to have less carries/yards.
I'll also say that if Dunn comes in and runs for ~350 yards at 5+ yards per carry then we'll all be freaking out about his potential for next year.
Agree except that the 4th back will likely have a huge yards per carry average (8.0 ?) in mop up like Berry did a few years ago
I agree i Think the projections can manifest because of offensive tempo. Since we are running no huddle now we are going to be running a lot more plays than our offense or meyer has coached before. I think hyde Has good potential as well as the the other backs. Its gonna be fun to watch.
Johnny11 youre numbers on Carlos Hyde was 99% correct. Pretty awesome pre season guess. You guessed him at 180 carries and 950 yards.
Name. Carries. Yards YPC Long TDs
Braxton Miller 227 1271 5.6 72 13
Carlos Hyde 185 970 5.2 29 16
Jordan Hall 40 218 5.5 15 1
Rod Smith 32 215 6.7 33 (TD) 2
Bri'onte Dunn 25 133 5.3 13 2
Totals 559 2907 5.2 72 37
LOL thank you for reminding me sir I actually totally forgot about this thread. I was way off on the other backs production and hyde's touchdowns, but i'll take it.
I'm saying hall comes back and pushes for more touches and almost more carries then hyde has
I personally hope hall has more receptions than carries and his carries go to rod smith.
I love Jordan Hall and really want to see what he can do with a full season of being healthy. I really think he's a 6 ypc back if so.
However, if he's injured, I really want to see Rod Smith get a lot of work, as I think his upside is higher than both Hyde and Hall. He looks to me like he has Eddie George potential, with possibly better speed. He just needs to have Eddie George's work ethic. LOL.
