I'm pretty new to the site, but I knew who created this post before I even opened it up.
From the sounds of it (by the posters on here) the competition he goes against is not very good. I wish the kid well, even possibly at Ohio State. But the fact that he doesn't have an OSU offer after attending camp really eliminates the care factor...

Kid puts up huge numbers, I dno't doubt he could do well or possibly even great at OSU. But he has to get that offer first and by the looks of it he is behind a few guys. Hell of a plan B guy though.
P.S. "Speedy" has been taken by 2014 recruit Speedy Noil ;)

To be fair James Quick just scored on his first touch of the game for the second time this season also
watched timmons play tonight, looked pretty good. western hills didnt look like much of a team imo. fumbles interceptions false starts (maybe shugarts kin plays for western hills?), 20 yard punts. but timmons looked like a man among boys tonight for sure. good game by him and the flyers.

Personally I'm hoping for Gibson and Quick... 2 guys we can put outside of Marshall and Jacobs...
Now that is a scenario I would enjoy Waycraken. Those two with marshall on the field at same time would be electric. I think Gibson is higher on the staffs board right now though so if he sorts out his academics and becomes a Buckeye I think that might be it for Timmons

We are going to do a high school football thread for OSU commits and targets but hopefully not a thread just for Timmons. Obviously Timmons is a plan B target. I'd really like to focus on Quick, Gibson, Mitchell, Lewis, Johnson, Bell, North, Stevens, and McMillan personally.
I'm sorry and the kid seems great, but we don't need an update on him every damn week. Give it a rest bro. If he gets an offer then maybe we can talk about him more.
I don't see anything wrong with the updates if he gets his offer we would already know how he is doing.

Waycraken, thanks for the updates. Kid seems very explosive. Folks if you don't care for a topic, don't comment.
one of timmons touches last night, went for nothing, cause he went to cut back at the line of scrimmage and slipped on the wet grass for no gain. so he actually had 6 touches 4 touchdowns and 220 yards. i know even the no gains count, but if he had not slipped he had nothing but clean air to the end zone. kid is explosive, just as quick and gibson are, so no matter who urban gets, it will be awesome. two of his catches were over the middle and not one person touched him on the way to the endzone. from other reports i have seen, quick and gibson had awesome nights. be great if we get one and even greater if we get two, and wow, all 3 as a package would be awesome to have. all three together, that is a lot of speed.

Maybe my obsession is for theBuckeyes to return to their glory days sooner than later and with my observations from many years playing and watching I have come across what I believe to be a very special player and I wish for him to become a member of my Ohio State Buckeye TEAM. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind under Urban Meyer and his staff the kid would become one of your favorites too. With that said I have not posted anything on this site other than stats and abilities and I have refrained from making a return comment to those that have made leud juvenile remarks mainly because I imagine it being made by irresponsible posters. With all of that said I still want Timmons to be a Buckeye. If that does not happent tOSU is still my favorite team from my home state but I would continue to follow Timmons progression and wishing him well.
OSU hasn't had a Gamebreaker at WR for 5 years now. Wanting to see some horses on the outside, is nothing to be ashamed of.
Sanzenbacher wasn't a Gamebreaker, but he was a stud.
Waycracken, keep the updates coming. If I decide not to read it I won't click the link. I appeciate your enthusism and enjoy the updates. I hope the kid keeps lighting it up and has a great career after High School. BTW, If you want to put it under another heading...High school football updates that would be cool too I'll keep reading. If I had a high school fantasy team I'd pick him up and watch for your "stat tracker" updates. Too bad he only plays 1/2 the game.
Again, if this kid does this stuff all the time, then I would have no problem with him on the buckeyes. Take any kid that is that electric on the field.
I don't think that anyone doesn't like the updates, some people are just being mean and picking on what seems a little obsessive.

Timmons has talent but the level of competition he plays isnt even close to what Quick plays.

He is explosive but look at who hes playing against. Get off this kid's sack! Quick is on another level compared to Timmons. Why don't we give some love to these athletic WR's that are on TOSU's list and HAVE been offered! BTW we already have someone whos gonna fill that role for the next 4 yrs. in Jalin! 23 att. for 312 yds, 3 TDS!

I think once Quick has verballed I think we can start knocking down Timmons chances. It seems like a numbers game now.

Then Timmons still doesnt get an offer. Gibson and Allen still higher on the list, with Stevens, North, and Stringfellow still in the mix, being either longshots or softly committed.

Buckeyestu, if that was directed at me I apologize for not being clear. I was trying to get across that Quick has no verballed therefore all this Quick talk premature as a reason not to go after Timmons.
@steensn: no i wasnt directing the quick question at you. you were clear. my question was based on things appearing to be fairly set, in regards to quick, gibson, and others. seems to me quick and gibson are the top priority(s), with timmons as a last minute desperate backup plan. is that correct? i work with a couple of UofL fans and they seem to feel that quick is a lock for UofL. which is also why i asked "if quick commits to U of L", then what? just a general question for anyone.
I think mentioning the competition is a waste of time. He can only dominate against the teams in front of him. We don't talk about the competition Gibson is playing, yet we all want him on the team. So it really doesn't matter if you're Waycracken who loves the guy or Buck-I8 who doesn't like the guy. The only thing that matters is what the staff wants.
Kid has camped here, and is tearing it up, but clearly he's not what the staff is prioritizing right now. It may be because Marshall is in the fold and Elliot may end up in the slot some as well, and the staff just may not see the need.
One thing I know, Meyer and his staff doesn't read the forum and doesn't care what we all think. If they aren't taking Timmons it's not because of the competition he's playing in high school.
^ Good point, with the exception of the claim that I don't like Timmons. Had you read any of my contributions to this ongoing conversation, you'd know that I value Quick and others higher but this kid is clearly a great athlete with potential. I assume you're deriving this idea purely from the fact that I don't think he'll get an offer, which is wrong.

Yeah, it would be impossible for a wideout from some podunk place like MVSU or Marshall to make it in the NFL, or a running back from Jackson State to be successful at the highest level. Who cares who this kid is playing in high school, look at Taivon Jacobs highlights. Those schools don't look any better. It's not like St. Xavier is the Chicago Bears. I am happy to have the updates, and I hope that this kid gets an offer, and if not, oh well.
Its not like this thread is bogus compared to every other thread on here. It is a FORUM (yes, I am yelling that word with all caps). Buckeye fans can post things that interest them on here.
Waycracken is interested in seeing Ryan Timmons suit up as a Buckeye. I went though the same thing with Dion Dawson last year. I think that all of us waste a shit ton of time watching the highlight videos of some high school kid who we will never meet and we all like to play General Manager or Talent Scout, and try to find diamonds in the rough. Waycracken happens to have hit on Ryan Timmons. I think that is his right to post this on the site. If you are super sick of hearing about it, maybe don't read it.
