Ever since Ted Ginn left, Ohio State has only averaged 4 non-offensive touchdowns per year, culminating in only one last year (Chris Fields unfortunately huge punt return vs Toledo). Urban Meyer's Florida teams during that same span almost averaged 6.5 non-offensive touchdowns per year, including 9 in his final year. Hopefully Urban can bring this scoring versatility to C-bus and bring back the days when teams were afraid of our defense and special teams.

and the blocked punt vs. Wisconsin.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog
wasn't that downed on the one? i remember being pissed because he was in the end zone but they marked him short
That is correct.
You can be sure we'll see a whole lot of pressure on the punter from Urban's special teams. He mentioned something about that in his presser yesterday. He puts starters on the special teams units and expects them to make one big play per game.
A guy like Taivon Jacobs gets recruited by Meyer just because of what he can do in the return game, and in the punt block game. He's a Chris Rainey clone, and Rainey blocked a TON of punts at Florida. Jacobs, Marshall, Elliott, etc. also seem to be the types of guys Urban likes to put back on returns to always have a legitimate threat to take it the distance.
I'm sure we'll see some improvement this year versus last year, but I think we'll really see the difference starting next year.

What 3 freshman are starting on kick off coverage?
Philly Brown was made for the return game..they didn't give him enough shots at it. He's quicker than Tavian Jacobs.

@BuckeyeJason
I hope so. So far we really have never seen Philly do a single impressive thing with the ball in his hands. I remember when he came in as a freshman, the perception was that he could be that kind of playmaker.
Hopefully he shows us all the hype was correct after all. I'd love to see him prove himself to be a gamebreaker this year.

I agree completely. This will be a do or die year for him.

It's not really fair to pin our downturn all on Ginn departing. That was also roughly the same time that Anthony Morelli and his ~4-5 career TD's to Buckeye DB's moved on and they got a QB (Robinson) who managed to avoid that. Moxy McGloin will rekindle that tradition this year.
When told OSU set school record for 50+ games this year, UFM said "That's good. We're gonna break that next year."
