One question that seems to come up with some of these services is "When does a service like this cross over into more of a business with business like decisions instead of a true rating service. Who got bumped up to 5* and who dropped? Why does one sevice rate a kid at the 3rd best at his position and the other at #30? There are many cases you can study and wonder what are they thinking but one of the worst cases happened in baseball a 5* R ranking on a kid. Kid gets drafted much lower (32nd round) reports to minors appears in 12 games goes 0-39 with 37 K's. Look at 5* for the past 10 years. These are suppose to be cant miss prospects some of them do pan out but percentage wise they are only 60% correct. Thats a failing grade in my book. My point is simple recruiting pay to play services can be very damaging with more business in mind than that of a reporting service. These services also branch out to bogging sites as well.

The recruiting sites are obviously trying to make money. From my understanding, they make their money from us regular joes. Our staff does their own evaluations, and that's a good thing.
I would agree.
Anyone who understands the VALUE of recruiting services (and draft services for the NFL) know that it is a guessing game. Guys get offers their Junior year and suck, guys get drafted first round and suck. The same guys that recruit sometimes end up being scouts for a recruiting service. Same guys that scout for the NFL, end up being scouts for draft sites. facts are, if you look at the numbers too deeply you will be dissappointed. If you expect more, you will be dissapointed. Its a simple gauge based on that set of persons observations and opinions... not something to act as if it is anything more. It's ENTERTAINMENT, just like this site.
