I can't believe we've come to this point. Not one OSU player on ESPN's top ten B10 LB list. This is LBU 2.0. What the heck? I'm not ripping the list, b/c not one of our players really deserves to be on there yet, unless the list took potential into consideration. Here's hoping Shazier and Grant are 1-2 on this list next year.

It's another preseason filler. Postseason, we could have three on there, depending on how we use the defense.
I know it's preseason filler, but to not even have anyone on the list while Mich St and Wisky have 2 each? How is that possible with our superior recruiting advantage?
^^Because this list is based on KNOWN players, not potential. As Optimistic said, at the end of the year it will likely look completely different.
I don't think any of our LB's should be on this list. THAT is the sad thing about it. What happened? We should always have 1 or 2 guys on this list.
I'm very very very excited to watch Ryan Shazier this year. Dude's an animal. He will be on whatever lists they come up with by season end. The only reason he's not on the list is because he's not well known. His name just hasn't been out there enough because he wasn't a big name recruit, he started the season on special teams (which he was a beast on) and then went on to be IMO our best playmaker on defense by season's end. By that point we were already irrelevent nationally and in the B1G race. I don't blame anyone for not putting a relatively unknown guy on the list....but he absolutely will be deserving and well known soon enough.
Maybe throw in a little Cam Williams or Josh Perry? Perry especially seems physically ready to complete right away just because he is so big.
I've always thought we were the real "Linebacker U" ... well, heck might as well make that "DB U" and "WR U", (at least in the 90s)...but, I think since the year 2000: PSU has had 8 LBs drafted, while OSU has had 16 LBs drafted

Cant have 1-2 every year, especially after last year where LB's were a sore spot. After this year that should change.
wr u might be a stretch... i cant remember a truly dominant wr from osu other than cc... we have been churning out lbs and dbs for awhile though
mark may wins douchebag of the year... again
Looks like we've had an LB drafted in 11 out of the last 15 years. Not too shabby. Will not have one drafted this year though. I think this is yet another indictment of the previous staff.
@Bucks43201 You sspeaking the football gospel to me bro...Preach on
Lotta love for Wiscon LB's... last I saw, they were getting ABUSED by a challenged Buckeye offensive attack. Shaziers performance on one leg in the ttun game last year should alone have gotten him included on that list.

" I think this is yet another indictment of the previous staff.
How so? The previous staff produced tons of top LB talent and our current crop of potential stars were there recruits.
Not to worry, next season Shazier SHOULD be in the top 5..them in 2014 we COULD possibly have 2-3, if Grant lives up to the hype and reaches his potential..as well as Josh Perry or someone beasting out at the Sam spot.

A lot Of unknowns and anything can happen obviously but it's fun to talk about in the down time.

Sabino could get drafted if he finally puts together a nice season. He's always had all the measurables and we know how much NFL execs love measurables. If he has another blah season he probably will sit the draft out.
Possibly with a good year, but I doubt it. Just doesn't do anything special. Not much game film to see and like.

There will be no all-B10 list at the end of this season, not one, that doesn't include Shazier in the two-deep at LB.
Sabino is big and strong but he is an undrafted free-agent type barring a huge year. I hope he proves me wrong.
Also, it is an indictment of the staff in that OSU should have top players at every position pretty much every year. Think about it. DL-Simon, Hankins DB's-Roby, Barnette RBs-Hyde, QB-Brax, FB-Boren, even the OL has Mewhort. Only position group lacking a proven returning player is LBs.
