Marcus Baugh arrived in Columbus late last week and attended the Buckeyes' workouts. He is staying with his mother's sister who lives in Columbus and having a great time coming back to the area. He returns home tomorrow night after soaking in more OSU today and is enjoying his trip so much he even asked his mom if he could stay out in Ohio for his senior year. Obviously that isn't going to happen and was a half joke, but the good news is that he is a solid Buckeye and this trip sealed it up (his mom will be moving out to Columbus from California when he comes as well).

Excellent news that Marcus has fallen even more in love with tOSU. He will undoubtedly be an integral part of our Offense in years to come.
This is great news. Thanks for the update Alex.
Good news.
I was never concerned based on what I knew, but hopefully this puts the "Baugh may not stick" concerns to rest
Awesome news. I was just a little concerned that he was from Cali and comitted without even seeing the campus, but this is music to my ears. My concern has been exstinguished.
Does he plan on enrolling early?
Also, maybe unrelated, but what impact will early enrollers have on the scholly numbers? Any?
Pretty cool that his mom will move here. Love it.
Thanks Alex!

Am I the only person who finds the "parent following kid to college" thing a little weird? Isn't that a Seantrel Henderson thing?
It's not that weird if the only reason you're in Cali is because of the kid and he moves across the country I guess the question becomes why not?

chrisgerard: I don't think Marcus' mom is going to be living in his dorm. Remember, this is her side of Marcus' family in C-Bus; maybe she wants to be closer to her family as well.

agreed 703: normally I find this sketchy (see Reuban Foster) but in this case it is a family thing so it is much less unusual.
Also agreed with 703. She'll be closer to family and get to see her son play at tOSU more easily.
Didn't know about the C-bus family connection. Carry on.
@Alex,
Nice! This officially ends my Baugh worries.
I moved from Ohio to Cali and there is no way I could move back to Ohio after being out here.I`m not saying I don`t enjoy my trips home but it would be hard
Chris- she has her sister in the area but her main reason was she said she couldn't miss the opportunity to experience B1G football and all it has to offer....she also can see her son play almost anywhere now by driving rather than havign to fly all over
I was raised in Cali and went back to OSU for school. I also didn't stay (moved back to Cali) but that doesn't mean that I didn't love it when I was there. Yeah, the weather sucks in the winter but there isn't many places better than campus on a fall day.
If I was a single mom originally from the Columbus area, with a son playing football for OSU, my sister and other family members are in Columbus, and no big reasons to stay in California, I would jump at the chance to move back to the area. Absolutely no question. Weather isn't everything.
SMH, now it's weird to want to be close to family (sister), and be close to your child as they progress in a giant step in their life...Not everybody has the perfect family structure..Then equating this situation to S. Henderson's drama king/diva type recruitment GTHOH...Thank god the season starts in a few more weeks and we can have game to talk about!
i like some california pass catchers in ohio...awsome

I'd try my best to stay in SoCal, so nice here! But I couldn't stay here in her situation...
Nice.

I loved living in Texas and if given the chance would go back there. But I will say that growing up in the Delaware area will always make it my home. There's no place on Earth like here in central Ohio! I love the feel of the fall when the leaves are turning and the taste of apple cidar. The anticipation of Ohio State football and the Little Brown Jug! If there's a football stadium in heaven, I sure hope it's The Shoe!
Don`t get me wrong,I love Ohio and all it has to offer, just fell into the Cali deal for work. As far as the weather,I shoveled more snow than I care to think about.I do miss my 7 percent beer back there though !
I'm probably in the 1% but I like the snow and having all the seasons.
I played college baseball in Florida and loved it, but always wanted to come back to live here in Columbus.

I see snow every winter... when I look up at the mountains... :)
Nope, I dig Columbus and our Great State (except maybe for Toledo :)) I like our four seasons. Wouldn't have it any other way.

Ugh the California love fest is making me sick. Yes, Alot of California is nice but it's basically a broke state that feels like you're in mexico.
Before you flame me, I was born and raised in SoCal.

No one loves the politics of California. We are all talking weather here, it didn't expand past that for GOOD reason. You can put up with a lot, frankly looking out my patio and seeing the ocean makes that pain go away.
@ TASPRA, Im 100% with you on four seasons. They balance me out and give me something different to look forward to. Absolutely bleed for Ohio when Im away, as I am now.
