Saw that he will be leaving the Gators. I know OSU was in his final 3-4 teams when he committed to Florida. Would be an interesting addition to the team if he ends up tranferring here

Too many young wideouts here busting their ass to prove themselves, we don't need him.

Why is he leaving?
Plus I don't like the whole idea of guys that considered us in recruiting, then commit somewhere else..then they want to leave that school and want to come to your school because they couldn't cut it or whatever at the first school.
I don't think I made a whole lot of sense there, but I hope I mad myself clear lol.

I hope we get him actually...an Urban recruited play maker at a position where we need some....keep in mind he is from FLORIDA and stayed gome because his family wanted him to...don't be bitter that he committed to his home state school and didn't choose the Buckeyes...UF wasn't a good fir for him so he left....you weren't making a fuss when Dionte Allen transferred here last year when he couldn't "cut it" at FSU and chose them over us when he committed out of HS
Would be awesome if we could get him. Would suck that he'd have to sit out a year though. :(
I actually like that he will have to sit out a year. It'll allow us to use his elligibility in years that count that he can help this team win something. This would be quite a pick up, bring him on.
He took a really hard look at ohio state before deciding to stay at florida. It was us or them.saw him play in under armour game in 2011 in tampa. Dont know our chances, but you gotta think he is considering
Alex:
Actually I didn't like the idea of Dionte Allen coming here, I knew he wouldn't play much..and he didn't. Let him come here and sit behind Devin Smith, Spencer, Thomas and eventually Jalin Marshall...be my guest.

Many, many articles mention OSU as the first choice for him. One of the guys at 247 said that they weren't surprised, and that the only reason he ended up at UF (rather than OSU) was that he went there for other players/his friends. The only other school I've seen mentioned was USF, which seems possible. He would likely start after sitting out a year, way too much talent. Big frame, big speed, big playmaker. I hope we get him!
Marshall is likely a slot/flex guy, so he would have to beat out Spencer and Thomas for PT. I could definitely see that happening.
For what it's worth...sounds like it might happen. OSU needs WR's...he'll have to sit out a year based on NCAA transfer rules but oh well.

Here's another article that will illustrate my point...he will have to sit out a year before playing in 2013...even though I hate seeing that website below...it was used to clarify things.

Who is to say he would sit behind any of our WRs...especially thinking about last year, our WRs are, until further notice, extremely average. If they step up this year then great but I wouldnt want to turn down a likely playmaker simply because of the POTENTIAL we have.
You def take this kid...
Imagine in the base set Thomas and Story on the outside with Marshal and Gibson on the inside. In a 5 wide set throw Baugh in there in a couple of years. The offense is going to be nasty. With the lack of depth and skill at the WR position you have to take this kid if he wants to come. He'd still have 3 years of eligibilty left even after he set out a year.
think we all will see a big dfiference this year with the passing game, the talent is there, and now for once in a long time so is the proper coaching, and the proper offense scheme. but one can never have enough wide receivers. i guarantee you the passing game will be so much improved. this is no longer 3 yards and a cloud of dust, run three plays and then punt. those days are gone, thank GOD.
Man, he falls right into the same physical category as like four or five receivers we already have, seemingly. Around or a bit above 6 foot, less than 200 pounds, and runs in the 4.4-4.5 range
I wouldn't turn him down, of course. I just wouldn't be able to tell him apart from Devin Smith, Evan Spencer, Verlon Reed, and Michael Thomas.
The North remembers.
^Last I saw, Story was listed at 6'3 210.
The Orlando Sentinel lists him at 6-3 206. He's not the same mold as the receivers we already have. He's a big physical receiver. We need some of those to go with guys like Marshal, Jacobs, and hopefully Gibson and Quick.
Ah. Rivals listed him at 6'3" 190, which is almost the exact same size as Devin Smith. He's still around Mike Thomas's size, though.
The North remembers.
Even if he does sit behind the current starters at receiver that's fine...by the time they're gone he'll be a soph. If his only year was a redshirt year doesn't that mean he'll have a full 4 years of eligibility? This would be the same as locking up another receiver for next year's class. We definitely need a bigger receiver on the outside, which is why I wanted Foster the most. We've got guys coming in who are smaller slot type guys already.
I would like to see Story as a Buckeye. I hope he comes to Columbus.
According to today's Quick Bits, staff told Story there was no room for him.
Beat me to it DBIT...
How can you not have room for a player of Story's caliber?????????????
^^^Agreed. I thought we needed more playmakers?
I'd take him.
This means one of a few things:
1. Urban already has silent commitments or feels very strongly about one or several "uncommitted" 2013 WRs
2. Urban doesnt want someone who has to sit a year to take a scholarship in a year with reduced scholarships
3. Urban knows something about the kid that we don't
Here's to hoping its number 1 :)
Sorry Urban, Woody is still my favorite
This absolutely blows my mind. I keep telling myself to trust the staff, so I'm going to let the 2013 class finish out and make my judgment then. If we whiff on Gibson and Quick plus we turned Story down I won't be too pleased. We better pick up Quick and Gibson or 1 of them plus North.
I really don't think North is considering us much.
buckeyejason had it right with the initial post (in my opinion). Plus, Urban knows this guy. I'm still baffled that we question Meyer given his track record. But, I understand the concern. Let's just let it play out, we have a good coach...he know's what's up. Don't fret.
It would be immensely foolish to turn down a playmaker of his caliber. Especially for kids who may or may not commit.
Follow me @jaythesportsguy
I think we have to hope Gibson gets his test scores up, plus push hard for Quick if the staff is to convince the fans this was a smart move. I love North's size but don't see him leaving the South (but would love to suggest carpooling with Tyquan Lewis and Jamal Marcus!). Allen seems to be leaning Michigan for some reason (was their barbecue that delicious?). I hate to jump on the Timmons train, but maybe the staff is making a play for him as a fall-back, with their top 3 being Quick/Gibson, then Timmons. But Triv makes great points in that Urban knows the kid and burning a scholarship in a reduced schollie time doesn't go with their development philosophy.
Dont know much about Story, but to all those who say you 'dont turn him down,' ---- he obviously wasnt good enough at Florida, what makes anyone think he'll be good enough here?
@Blazerss34 ... I get what your saying, and I pretty much agree w/it too, but the kid is still young, and its quite possible the "light" hasn't come on for him just yet. A change of scenery could also refresh him especially if he went to Florida for the wrong reason, and his heart wasn't in it.
maybe the wide receiver coach at florida that just quit recently, has made this kid want to move on?
I'm guessing the staff doesn't like Story as much as Gibson and/or Quick. That is the easiest answer.
Hes not coming here, end of STORY!!!! Lolz (pun intended)

Anyone know WHY Story is leaving Florida in the first place?!
Not sure why he's leaving, but he was red-shirted last year, and I'm not sure where he was on their depth chart for this season. Not to mention the wide receivers coach and the guy who recruited him to Florida, Aubrey Hill, just resigned.
What has been mentioned is that he didn't like the situation and didn't think he fit. No indication of bad reasons.
