Honestly, I understand why the alumni are upset they feel like they have no control. However, if they are not smart enough to realize that this keeps them playing football and takes the death penalty off the table while at the same time gets it all started immediately they deserve to have to wait 9 month and then be given a 4 year death penalty.
I would in no way relate the PSU scandal to Tatgate except for knowing first hand(as im sure everyone here can attest) how long 9 months is when you are waiting for a NCAA sanction to come down.
All that said the PSU Fanbase will get no sympathy from me.
Oh they get no sympathy from me. Think it's completely ridiculous that they are even upset about these sanctions. The argument I always get is "what would you do if this happened at OSU?" and I always say that if this happened then I would gladly have accepted the Death Penalty because obviously something about the "culture" needs to change. The fact they got off as easy as they did (still playing football on TV, still allowed to offer scholarships, but most of all STILL PLAYING FOOTBALL) is a travesty in itself and they should be thankful they can still watch their team play this fall.

I remember when PSU and some OSU fans retorted that the Sandusky scandal wasn't a football issue when I posted that they were gonna get hammered long before the ax came down.
Of course, I couldn't help but chuckle a little then. Of course that issue is nothing to laugh about.
I wonder if the Freeh report would have concluded that Joe Paterno had not engaged in a cover up if they would still be calling the Freeh report "shoddy"?
