Don't know if anyone saw this in the O-Zone article:

Along with Roby wanting to play both way. ala Gamble
Plus a tweet from Ari Wasserman about Hyde's speed:
Ari Wasserman @AriWassermanBSB
Hyde ran the 40-yard dash in 4.35 seconds. Braxton Miller said he "lost his belly fat"

These aren't laser timed though, right? So that makes it about as legit as Perkins' 4.2. I'd guess Hyde is more like a 4.45 range
still, let's add .1 to each of those. 4.45 for a 235 lb RB and 4.3 for a LB? I'l take that.
I.8-
Yep. But that is blazing for a back of Hydes build.
Bucktooooooth, heeyaw.
No doubt, Hyde was definitely not under a 4.55 last year, getting run down by Akron DBs. And Perkins is blazing.
I read last time that Marotti laser timed Roby's 4.31 in the spring but he did not do the video review and edit the hundreths of a seconds like the NFL does to get a "official" laser time I do not know if that applies for Hyde though
Allegedly....

I'll believe it when I see it at the combine.

Hyde ran a 4.49 laser last year...Im assuming hes around 4.45 now...Sick for a dude tht big
Yep, the weight loss probably helped with his sprint speed a little!
What about Roby who gained 5 lbs and ran a faster time lol.

Either way...let's not get too technical. It probably means that these guys are getting faster and stronger from what Mickey's doing (btw...it seems a good job too) If Hyde is running a 4.40...that's going to be one large and fast dude running the ball. As far as Roby, would love to see him on offense...y not?

lets also keep in mind that this is more of a motivational technique than anything else. since i'm assuming most of these are hand-timed there is a certain level of inaccuracy, not to mention coaches massaging numbers a bit. happens at EVERY program in the country. the big takeaway is that these guys are getting faster (although I don't believe they're THAT fast)
Roby has been reported that his 4.31 is laser timed
Sorry Urban, Woody is still my favorite
Meyer has always had teams with 40 times that can't be replicated. There is a picture somewhere of a poster of his Florida speed leaders 40 times and it's ridiculous. Harvin was like 4.15 or something. It's a psychological ploy he uses, I'm assuming to build confidence and get guys to play faster because they have confidence that they are faster (I'm not a psych major so that's just a guess). Are they faster than last year? I think so. Is our 240 pound RB running a 4.3 laser timed? Doubt it.
Anyway, let's take it with a grain of salt, and just know that the strength and conditioning program, by all accounts, seems to be working wonders with this team. 4.3 laser 40 times or not, I think we'll be pleased with the overall increase in team speed from last year's team.
When told OSU set school record for 50+ games this year, UFM said "That's good. We're gonna break that next year."
I didn't say Hydes 40 was laser timed, but Roby said he ran a 4.31 twice laser timed. That didn't come from Meyer

If you run anywhere near a 4.4, you're really moving. A legitimate 4.3 is blazing.
We hear guys every year running ridiculous times...it's funny though when they run the 40 at the combine that time is always slower. Hmmm...

Bolt just ran a 3.97. I wonder if the Raiders have tried to contact him yet
A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men
They have not.
Haha ^
Not much of a surprise, I remember hearing last year that Hyde was the fastest RB on the team... I think the annoucers said it in at least 5 games.
^And that would have included Jaamal Berry
My *** Hyde ran a 4.3.
