I dunno - I tend to think it's extremely dangerous for girls to be playing football, especially against a high-level athlete. She's yet to get hit in pads before, too. I'm not sure of the caliber of opponents she's playing against, but being a QB is obviously much more dangerous than being a Kicker. Heck, I worry about the female referee getting killed out there in an NFL game, with the size/speed/velocity combination of today's elite athletes, and that's just as a referee. But, I'll give this girl credit for trying to make it as a QB....best of luck to her.

Presumably they wouldn't put her out there if she weren't physically capable. Getting hit doesn't hurt a woman more than a man (in fact there is some evidence women have higher pain tolerances than men in general). All I know is that Holly Mangold would have been the most physically imposing OL on my high school team, so there is obviously nothing that would mean that women can't take a hit as well as men.
well, I say that I worry for her safety because she's 5'6'' 155, playing QB & has "never been hit in pads before". I agree that an OL like Holley Mangold would be physically imposing, but Holley Mangold is 5'8'' 350 & not going to get hit blindsided on a QB sack. So, that's comparing apples & oranges. Either way, I wish this young woman the best of luck & hope she succeeds.

She plays for a Plantation school? My sister lives in Davie and I travel down there to see the football, simply because it's top notch in the country. Can you imagine Ryan Shazier speed rushing a 155 lb female QB? I have 5 inches and a 15 lbs on her, and I would be terrified.
haha yes...Shazier is a silver bullet --- I'm 6'2'' 190 & I'd think twice about running a crossing route in front of him. That guy reacts like he was shot out of a cannon...glad he's playing for the good guys.

Eh, she's third string.
At 5'6" 155 she'd certainly have to be worried about getting blindsided, but so would anyone else at that height and weight, but if she can throw well and is good, well, more power to her.
Yeah I'm 6'3 182lbs and I would be terrified.
***do not take a a serious argument for this***
but maybe that's part of the game plan? Knowing the defense knows she's playing QB might give that extra hesitation needed to get rid of the ball?

Ridiculous! I thought you were going to tell me about some huge female athlete. If she really wants to get crushed, to each their own.
Even money that she gets hurt when the pads go on. There was a girl in Piqua, Oh. in the late seventees that tryed out. She made it all the way until they wrote the newspaper article.

There already is a girl qb in the big ten.
Taylor Martinez.
If she wants to put time in the weight room and practice field like the rest, I say let her play.

My daughter likes to play linebacker and been on the allstar team for the 3 years she has played, but this is here last year not because she want to quit but because in the state of GA. Softball runs in the fall along with football. I told here that she will go to school on a scholly for softball long befor football. Next year the middle school softball coach has already said to me he is waiting for her to get up there.
She probably has SEC speed...

At first, I thought this was Aaron Murray's sister, but I guess I was wrong.
