I've noticed a few recruits lately have been jumping ship from Florida and decommiting. Does anyone know the reason for this? I mean Penn St makes sense, Miami would make sense due to sanctions coming. Even Oregon with their rumored sanctions coming. Didn't know if anyone knows whats going on down there

One of Florida's assistant coaches and big-time recruiters resigned recently after being connected to possible violations. If I'm not mistaken, most of those decommits were guys he recruited.

Todays decommitment was a guard, so I don't think the former WR coach would've recruited him, but it's possible.
Not sure. But if Hill is supposed to be a crackerjack recruiter, they might have had him recruiting many different position groups. Trooper Taylor at Auburn ($$$$$$) is a position coach but recruits ($$$$$) across the board for them.

I.8: A coaches position does not dictate which players he recruits. Coaches are more often given regions to recruit as opposed to positions.

He was also the "recruiting coordinator" if that title means anything it might have meant that he had more contact with recruits than a normal coach too.
@RDubs, I just read that, it all seems a little more connected now
@703 Region may often dictate recruiting duty, as Withers covers the Carolina areas, Coombs has more connections in Cincy, etc., but many times a kid has the most contact with his position coach. Derrick Green for example, had most of his contact with Drayton because of his reservations with how he would be fitting in the offense.
