Sorry this is a post from one of the Texas fans at Smoaky.com. I wanted to look up any information about Mike Mitchell. Smoaky.com is a forum, much like 11Warriors but for East Texas. Sense I lived there for 10 years, I have an account with them. I think I'm only one of 2 Buckeye fans? Anyway, this is an example of the things fans of other schools, opinions. This should be fun.
State court says Iowa can shield 2007 assault records
Big 10 and Pac 10 have been covering up for years! while pointing the finger at everyone else! They have nothing to brag about and recent disclosures have shown as much! They are the protective Yankee schools and they are the ones that really run college athletics. This is why I hate the idea of a small behind the scenes committee picking the 4 playoff teams. You do not get any more sleazy than a bunch or rich Yankees who control everything! It is not the SEC or Big 12 or old SWC, it has always been the Yankees that have been the enemy that hides behind their higher than mighty pompous finger pointing righteousness, who in reality are the bottom of the barrel Yankee scum that runs or tries to run over everyone!
The SEC has tried to tell everyone for years! LISTEN!!!!!
The University of Iowa can conceal hundreds of pages of records related to its widely criticized handling of a 2007 sexual assault incident involving two football players, the Iowa Supreme Court ruled Friday.

LOL!!! I have no where to hide so I will fess up! Yes, I hate the #### Yankees!!!! Western Yankees too!
If you look back way over the years, you will see time and time again where the old SWC, SEC and even the ACC has been hammered and investigated to no end and accused of all sort of no good while the Yankee Conferences are ignored and held up on a pedestal. We get ridicules for everything especially academics and when looked at, you will find most of our conference players have as good or better grades that theirs but that goes un-reported!
Time after time the SEC has been stereotype and ridiculed, put down and insulted and discriminated against that group of scum for years. In fact the South in general have endured their insults and unjust behavior, robbery/thievery and aggression to the point of war for over 200 years! The rest of or at least most of the world hates us because of the Yankee!
Those supposedly Blue Bloods have stolen 9 National Championships from the SEC but blowing the Civil rights horn and riding their liberal press to turn voters away and not vote for undefeated SEC team to give titles to less deserving more racially oppressive Yankees institution! They are crooks and cheats and can't be trusted to do anything other than rob, cheat and steal! If you have not learned that just wait and you will see!

Any time anyone uses "Yankees" as an insult, and they're not British OR talking about the baseball team, they come off as incredibly ignorant and angry. Honestly, I don't pay much attention to Big 12 football, and I don't plan on ever paying much attention.
I wouldn't cheer for Michigan if they were playing the Taliban.
This seems to be a more politically motivated post than football related.
This. So much this.
No Southernsailor, it's not politically motivated in any way. I just thought it was funny. I should not have implied that this is the attitude of all East Texan college football fans. I just meant that this was the stuff I had to deal with from some of them. Most fans are reasonable. I didn't mean to offend your roots in any way.
*Looks up from copy of The New Yorker*
Was somebody ranting about something? I would have listened but I was reading an insightful article tying together how the South's failure in the Civil War and Texas's inability to hold the Alamo has caused an inferiority complex over the following generations . . . . . Indeed.
No? No one said anything of importance?

THE Ohio State University
You misunderstand me. I was commenting on the Texan you quoted.
As someone who has lived in Florida, Texas, Kentucky, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Ohio everyones obsession with North vs. South (on both sides) amuses me while at the same time seems somewhat pathetic.
This amuses me to no end.
they may win a battle, but we won the war, right?
My family and I just visited an Ohio Historical Site on the Ohio River yesterday. It was the Rankin House in Ripley, Ohio. A preserved house with a sweeping view out the back of the Ohio River and the green hills of Kentucky. The Rankin House was a stop on the Underground Railroad. Ohio has so much to be proud of in our states contribution to the liberties of 1,000's, that a snide remark from a Southerner, should be taken as a compliment.
Let's not digress into Native American treatment, Simply commenting in Civil War Yankee remark.
This guy might actually make me into a SEC fan.
JohnBlair, that ignorant comment is trending in the wrong direction. Please continue to keep it football related.
It is funny he thinks that the PAC and BIG are held up on a "pedestal" when USC, OU, TOSU, and PSU have all been under the microscope recently.
9 National Championships?. Sounds to me someone has a) forgotten their meds, is a big fan of East Texas State or both...What does this person think has been going on with all the scrutinty that both Ohio State and Penn State amongst other national schools have been under?
Battles are sometimes won by generals; wars are nearly always won by sergeants and privates. Football is no different, the guys down in the trenches win the games, not the coach.
Southern Sailor.... What gives? Not sure there is one thing wrong with my post. Please enlighten me..... errrrrr..... explain what the beef is.
I have no beef with you. I simply think that the characterization of his statement being of a Southernors opinion is a gross misunderstanding on your part. I, "SouthernSailor" rejoice in the victory of freedom, and the significant contributions of states such as Ohio to the virtues of freedom in this country. But the way in which you framed his remarks to be of a Southernors (which phrases out in my understanding to be that of a populations), rather than his individual opinion is unacceptable to me. "Ohio has so much to be proud of in our states contribution to the liberties of 1,000's, that a snide remark from a Southerner, should be taken as a compliment." I appreciate liberties also, and it seems to me that you think Southernors may not. I may be incorrectly understanding you, but perception is everything. I asked to remain football oriented, so that neither you, or I look like fools for any miscommunication.
I'm not sure you have a leg to stand on sailor. I read through johnblair's comments before the last two posts, and I thought you might be upset about a reference to Native Americans that was not offensive (to me). The posters in the OP appear to be southerners. From what the site is, they may very well be from Texas.
In any event, if using the word southerners in this context is an insult, it's about as tame as it gets. If someone walks up to me and says something stupid or insulting and then calls me a Yankee, my first thought is probably going to be "stupid southerner." The stupid part is the insult. The southerner part is just because no one else uses Yankee like this (I've never heard it outside of TV). I think johnblair thought the same.
.......and the beat goes on....
Don't interrupt me, I'm still counting how many times the guy used the word "Yankee". 38...39...40...41........
I definitely do not consider the term offensive, it was the context in which it was used that I perceived unfavorably. Going back I will admit I was hasty in my condemnation, and apologize JohnBlair, I was overly sensitive.
Wait a minute, this salsa's made in New York City. New York City?!?!?!
Bucktoooooooth, heeyaw.
This guy really needs to fix his flux capacitor and go back to 1820.
Tomorrow
NEW YORK CITY?!
Big 12 - horribly overrated. Who cares what they think - ever
