Those stats would've been pretty darn impressive for an entire game, but for just one half wow. His rushing stats if true also look to show he could fit nicely in this offense, according to his highlight tapes his high school team appears to run a read option. I wonder if anyone from the staff was there last night. Gotta at least think they're gonna see some tape of this but it looks like Drew Barker may be proned for a big year and if he gets the Qb offer maybe our first 2014 committ.

The one thing you can bank on in the 2014 class it that it will have a premire QB in it
Barker seems like a naturally born leader and I think he is the QB i want in this class. Seems like he runs a similar offense as OSU does. Hope this kid gets his offer and commits on his visit to the Miami game. More likely to get his offer later though in which case I hope he commits at The Game along with several other top prospects :)
Sorry Urban, Woody is still my favorite
Agree with you Triv, this guy just seems like a natural born leader, definitely the attitude you want in your qb, plus he seems like on of those guys who is going to be active in recruiting other guys to his school. Definitely my pick for QB in this class too.
Favorite Buckeye: Obviously BJ Mullens
I think right now Drew Barker is a must get... if we offer now, he can be our equivalent of Shane Morris... An early commit who brings a ton of talent in with his positive attitude and work ethic. If you read all of the comments of a 'super team' amongst the '14 recruits, Barker is leading this group. If you have recruit 1A, 1B, and 1C as your potential QBs, all three with similar talent, but 1A might bring in your #1 LB, #2LB, #3LB, #1WR, #1DE etc, I say offer 1A... if he commits, it's no lose.
Barker, Henderson, and Kizer or Crest will be it. Just not sure which one or may be two the staff will want considering they should have Braxton for at least one more year and JT for several after him. Should be interesting to see who the staff really goes after in this class...

^Yeah, but it's hard to include JT yet. Braxton is the only QB on the roster who has proven himself to be a sure starter, and saying that Kenny G or JT will definitely pan out as replacements isn't a statement with any reliability.
If I'm the staff, I look at it like I'm trying to replace Miller with every HS QB I take, and if the unproven guys work out, great.
Braxton will be here for 4 years. He's no early entry candidate being 6'1-6'2" 212 lbs running a spread offense. I mean Anythings possible and he could leave early just to get drafted..but that'd be a bad move IMO.
My money's on JT Barrett being the QB from 2015-2017..barring injury of coarse.

Braxton is more like 6'2" 220 lbs now. He's gotten a lot bigger under Marrioti. But yeah, I REALLY like JT, but I think that Henderson or Barker could be great in this system as well.
I wouldn't cheer for Michigan if they were playing the Taliban.
Braxtion is not an nfl qb, buckeyejason is correct even is the weight is off by a few lbs. Not that braxton wont have a ton fo success at OSU, he is more of a switch to WR type player at the next level.
I do think that if Braker comes that JT will not be the starter for more than one year. I like JT, he could be solid, but I think some of the 2014 options will be better all around.
I like this kid.
@BJ Mullens over Sully you are joking about your name right?? Would you really take Mullens over Sully?
On the espn all access show the scale said 212 when Braxton was on it. No way he's 220 yet.

Barker is playing about 5 miles from my house Friday, I think I'll be making a trip over to watch him play. On 9/7 he's playing practically in my back yard. I'm looking forward to watching him play this season.
It's also worth mentioning the team that he scrimmaged on Friday is typically a pretty crappy team. The one they scrimmaged on 8/10, though a small school, is typically one of the top small division schools in the state.
Btalbert, where exactly are you, I live in the NKY area over by NKU.
On Drew Barker and his competition. I grew up in Cincinnati and went to a GCL school. I have always wondered about the football competition in NKY even more now that I live over here. I know Highlands is one of the better NKY teams and then you have the likes of some Louisville teams which are also good. I noticed on his high schools schedule, they dont venture over to Ohio to play. So if anyone knows much about NKY high school football, how good is the competition he is playing against with the likes of Beechwood, Dixie, Holy Cross, Campbell County, Cov. Cath. etc...?
I live in Elsmere. NKY high school football is usually pretty good by KY standards, but nothing compared to the GCL where you went to school. Beechwood is usually a pretty good team but they are 1A maybe 2A since they changed everything around to the 6A system they have now. Highlands is always really good, but as bad as Elder was last year Highlands pulled out an OT victory on them last year I think. Once in a great while Highlands upset a big GCL school. I think in the past Cov Cath has knocked off Moeller a couple of times too.
It's not to say the games aren't entertaining or there aren't good players but comparing to the GCL or Cincinnati where you have GCL and Colerain it's not even close, but not many places in the country are close to that.
I went to Elder, Highlands was always a fun game to be at. Thanks for the insight though, I just wasn't sure of the whole competition level of KY football.
Living where you do, you should check out the Highlands-Cov Cath game, it's a big rivalry and they hate eachother quite a bit. They typically are/were the 2 best teams in NKY. NCC is typically pretty good too and that's not far from NKU either.
Giggity!
Those who stay will be CHAMPIONS!

@hail: yeah, yeah, yeah, don't push your luck. most of us still like you around here... (like might be a little strong)
Bill Kurelic tweeted a segment of his "what I am hearing" mentioning the Buckeyes might have offered a 2014 QB... Any info on this and hopefully if it's true it is Barker?
I believe the 2014 QB that was recently offered is William Crest. I sure hope Barker gets an offer soon.
I wouldn't believe Bill Kurelic's tweet about that, he tweets things like that as a marketing ploy for subs.
My guess is that it is more questioning whether Crest truely has an offer or whether it's a non-committable one at this point which we already knew.

I just talked to some recent Alumni from Hebron(KY) who played with Drew and are close to him. Everyone said the same thing that he's planning on commiting if OSU offers him.
Barker is not a must get. Crest and Henderson likely sit ahead of him on our board. Should be 1 of the 3, with Kizer as Plan B.
How do you know this? Pantoni, is that you?
