Names Pitt AND Ohio State as his leaders

Give him a few games of the season and Pitt will no longer be a leader.  He will want to win and OSU will give him the best chance...

You'd think if he really wanted to go to Pitt -- he would've committed already.

But, then again, he did commit originally to Penn State --- thinking there would be no severe penalties, so it makes you wonder what these kids are thinking sometimes...or who is in their head.

His original draw to Pitt was proximity. But Penn State is just far from Belle Vernon as Columbus, so I would have to think we stand a real good chance here. I have maintained that DJ is the best OL prospect in the 2013 class we offered. He will be a monster.

No one could have guessed this level of penalties. Typically they are 1-2 years and that would put the incoming freshman next year at most 1 year bowl ban under their time there. Big deal...

a two year bowl ban really doesn't do anything to hurt the program, look at USC. Their recruiting classes were and are still amazing. The 4 year and super reduced schollies was more than anyone expected...

I was shooting for the 4-year Death Penalty, STEEN....I wasn't real surprised with what they received, given it's the worst scandal/cover-up in sports history. The penalties were harsh, but they could've/should've been worse.

Dont get me wrong... I was hoping for a HUGE hit as well. Doesn't mean I though the NCAA had the balls or integraty to do it.

I gotcha...although a harsher punishment would have been:

Matt Millen is named permanent AD, Matt McGloin is given 5 years of extra eligibilty & must remain as starting QB, Scott Paterno named head strength & conditioning coach, & Jay Paterno has to be head coach for 10 years straight.

Can we throw in a Bollman as OC and OL coach?

that would be the clincher...Bollman as OC/OL coach

I think comparing the USC and PSU penalties doesn't work.  USC ended up staggering their bowl penalties and their scholarship penalties and I think that worked in their favor drastically.  It means that now that they are finally on reduced scholarships all of the guys can play in a bowl game (or national championship) so even though they might only have 15 recruits a year all of those guys are more likelly to be really good because they still have the possibility of the bowl.  It might have hurt USC a little in recruiting the last couple of years but since they still had max numbers they could cast a wider net and take some chances.  PSU guys will be worse because they can't go to a bowl and fewer because of the the scholarship reductions.  Not a good combination, but one that USC never had to endure.

Also do want on Dorian Johnson.  Can never have enough linemen (just ask ttun).
