Construction around Ohio Stadium?

This is my first post of a forum topic to 11 warriors, so forgive me if I don't put in in the right place, screw up, etc. I live about 2 hours north of C-bus (near Canton) and was wondering what construction hassles are going on right now near the stadium. It seems like every other year I have to change my approach to the stadium. I usually either grab I-70W, then downtown pick up I-71N, to I-670W to 315N, then grab the Lane Ave. exit... or come down 16 to 161, then either grab I-270E (I think, toward Wheeling) to I-670W or I-270W then pick up 315S... I've heard there's construction on I-670? Any help before the home opener will surely allow time for a few more beers before the game... Thanks guys! P.S. This site is the best ever for Buckeye fans!

I think it depends on where you want to park.  I usually park in the garage next to Adriatico's, so I basically just use I-71 to 11th.

edit:  wrong interstate before

I'm glad you bring this up.  What is going on with the highway construction is an utter TRAVESTY!!! I was curious if any of my fellow 11W's have any insight as to when some of the construction projects will be done.  Our illustrious city planners decided it would be brilliant to simultaneously tear down the 71/670/70 interchange, 270 is a train wreck on the west side.  Dodrige brige has been out for over a year and wont be back up anytime soon making the traffic on lane going by campus ridiculous.  Lane avenue going into upper arlington is FUBAR, which will effect game day traffic in a big bad way.  Not to mention everytime I turn down a side street I run into a road block that is some crew putting in new gas lines or repairing a curb or something.  I realize the work needs to be done and utilities/roads maintained, but ALL AT ONCE!?!?!?

To answer your question if I were coming in from the north, I would take 71S down to about Weber, turn left onto high street, turn right onto Hudson (I realize there's an exit for Hudson but I can't stand that intersection either) turn left onto Neal, pay ten/twenty bucks to park and hoof it from there.

Hope this helps. Sorry about my rant.

@Baroclinicity 77 and 11th dont intersect.  You want to take 71 to 11th.

From Canton take 71S to 11th. Once you cross High Street do a slight jog at the light and continue on 11th past the dorms. 11th Ave.
garage is always the last to fill & costs $10. Finally, remember OSU
does enforce open container. Be smart.

Thanks guys... but I don't go I-71... I go either I-77S or come in 161... so should I grab I-270W and then hit I-71S? I usually park near the Kenny Rd. public parking (It's actually the Carmack lot, less people and fills up later, casual crowd). But either way I need to end up west of 315 to get to it...

You can't take 71s from Canton. Furthermore the 11th ave exit on 71 is horrible. My recommendation would be to get off at N Broadway and take that to high, once you cross Hudson turn right down any side street and look for free parking especially w Blake or grab a spot on someone's lawn for $10 otherwise get ready to sit in traffic or get gouged

@OSU07ASU10. You can't turn left (south) onto high street from north broadway, which is why I suggested Weber, which is just one exit south of North Broadway.

I-71 and I-670 are torn up downtown - I'd try to avoid that at all costs.  If you go through there, make sure you adhere to the 45 speed limit, as they do speed trap it from time to time.  I always park at CAS, which is at Dodridge/Olentangy River Rd - I take 315 to N Broadway exit and turn onto Olentangy from there.  We almost never have any issues trafficwise there coming in, and very few issues leaving from there.

If you're coming from Canton, I'm curious as to why you wouldn't take 30 west to 71 south, as I believe 30 is a divided fast highway all the way between Canton and Mansfield.

Class of 2010.

I'm actually 35 miles south of Canton in New Philadelphia, so the added mileage to head north to catch 30 isn't worth it... But thanks for the info on I-71 and I-670, think I'll just take 161 to I-270W then hit 315S to the Lane Ave exit (I'm usually there at least 3 hours before game time to tailgate for noon games, so traffic isn't that bad then).
