I was going to ask this same question. So far I know Spence, Washington, Ball, Bogard and Cardale. Not sure who else! I would be surprised if Decker hasn't had his taken yet.
Update: I guess Joe Burger is without stripe now too! Good for him!
Very interesting that Ball lost his stripe before Dunn. Wonder if the whole police incident has something to do with it, or if Ball is actually outplaing him?
I'm not sure the black stripe being removed is a sign of playing well, I think it is more related to the effort, competitiveness, and other things Urban is looking for. Just my thought.

I think Dunn's incident has given Ball more opportunities. My guess is that Dunn is in the dog house. I know charges were dropped and a drug test was passed, but it was a distraction and negative attention the program didn't need. I imagine Dunn is having to dig his way out of a hole, so to speak, to get back in Meyer's good graces.
ball losing his stripe before dunn surprised me as well, but watching the big 33 game he did look good showing some nice hands as well as his good running. i think dunn is still ahead of him on the depth chart though
I also think Ball is really under rated. He played down here in NKY last year and had like 5 TD's. he single handedly destroyed Ryle. He'll end up being a good player.
I think the knock on Ball is durability. He has been dinged up a few times in HS and add to it the fact that he was 100% buckeye very early on, he didn't make the rounds at camps to really solidify his hype heading into college.
I certainly don't think he is underrated by our staff.

will the frosh still be wearing the "stripes" on the sidelines of Home games? Or once the season starts does this stuff go away, so they can focus on the opponent?
losing the stripe has more to do with effort, attitude, and off field stuff rather than how well the player is actually playing. To answer the above question: NO.
Im pretty sure they CANT play if they still have their stripe. It supposed to be an initiation onto the team of sorts. If you still have your stripe, you're not accepted as a memeber of the team, thus you dont get to play in games.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but thats the way I interpreted the whole black stripe thing.

Not sure how he did it at BGSU, but I hope that at the end of camp they all get their stripes removed. It's a good motivator during camp, but I think that you risk alienating freshman who've travelled around the country to come to Columbus to be a part of the team, and then tell them that they aren't even as the season goes on. Freshman that are feeling a little homesick need to feel like the team is their home and their family.
Well Josh Perry still has his stripe I think, and he is pushing for #2 on the depth chart. If he doesn't lose it by 9/1 and we either A. Blow them out and its time for backups or B. Grant gets hurt (please no) then i expect him to see some time
@OBB That's the way I understand it as well. It's not as much a sign of physical readiness as it is that you've shown that you can be a buckeye. Off of raw talent, obviously guys like Perkins and Perry would have theirs off before Burger, but the kid showed he has the passion, and the coaches like him as part of the team. That's what I like about this
Courtesy of The Plain Dealer, the freshmen with stripes remaining include:
Linebackers - Josh Perry*, Camren Williams, Jamal Marcus and Luke Roberts
Receivers - Michael Thomas, Ricquan Southward and Frank Epitropoulos*
Defensive End - Se'Von Pittman
Offensive Lineman - Pat Elflein, Kyle Dodson* and Joey O'Connor*
Tight End - Blake Thomas
Defensive Back - Tyvis Powell
* O'Connor and Dodson, both of whom had surgery and haven't practiced much, or at all. Perry and Epitropoulos were also slowed by injuries for at least part of camp.

Ball is such a good kid. Down to earth, intelligent, humble, hardworking. On the field he is a beast wth size. VERY UNDERRATED!!

BTW, Decker lost his stripe last week.
It's Bogard, Spence, Schutt, Washington, Decker, Ball, Jones, and now Burger.
I don't think Dunn is in the dog house. Since the incident Urban has said he has performed well, looked sharp.
Urban also stated that he was honest with him, and that they believe him, and that was that.
I don't know why everyone is bashing on Dunn today.

O'Connor's stripe is now in the shape of a surgical wound. Don't think he will be shedding it anytime soon. Heal well Joey.

I'd love to see our Ball have a similar career here as the Ball currently starring for Wisky. ("unprovoked" beatdown not included)

To which one ^^^?
Freshman won't wear the stripes in actual games. In case they get in they have to have the same helmet as everyone else
Sorry Urban, Woody is still my favorite

Plus ideally some of these guys will be on special teams (Perkins, Marcus, etc)
Sorry Urban, Woody is still my favorite
According to today's skully, Meyer had guys with the stripe for more than a year down in Florida. I think Brantley might still have his black stripe!
^^^ Sadly, I believe this as well

Aug 29th and would like to know who still has black stripe on helmut?
