the freshman that haven't lost them yet, will they be on the gameday helmets? I hope not, because it would be embarrassing to the kids on a fantastic day.

I think that they wouldn't have them on during the games, just during practice until they get them off.
Not trying to be a jerk, just trying to bring you up to speed with the previous conversation regarding the Black stripes.

"I'm One Bad Buckeye, and I approve this message."
I asked the same question in that thread, and had Triv say they wouldn't wear them, because they needed to have the same helmet, if they got in the game. However, if they still have the stripe, the coaches probably won't put them in the game anyway. Thought since we were closer to gametime, someone might have heard something from the staff in regards to it.
The players all have two helmets—one for games and one for practice. The freshman won't be wearing the black-striped ones during the games.
This is absurd
Just my 2 cents. When I coached HS we did not use a stripe on the helmet, but all new players had to "earn" the right to suit for a game. I would imagine that the stripe thing is much like that. Can not envision a player who has not "earned" the right to be a Buckeye (i.e. losing the stripe) suiting up for a game. I could be wrong, but that is how I would handle it if I were a coach. We will find out Saturady.
No we won't find anything out on Saturday, no player will have a black stripe on their helmet because no player in college football is going to keep athletic tape on their helmets for a game.
Nobody will have a black stripe on their helmet for the game, but I hadn't thought about the stripe keeping guys from playing in games, but it was said that they aren't "officially" part of the team till they lose their stripe. Didn't Meyer mention somewhere that he's had guys in the past with stripes remaining on their helmets for a whole season? I guess if you're not "officially" part of the team, you aren't gonna play, but who knows, I'll be curious to see how he handles this.
What I meant about finding out on Saturday was if any of the players who had not "earned" stripe removal are actually suited up for the game. There is no way any player will have a black stripe on a helmet during a game. The question is merely whether they will suit up or not.
@NW,
Gotcha...sorry, the OP has me riled...we're Ohio State, we're not going to wear tape stripes for gamedays
Lordy OSU07ASU10, Riled by the question?
you are funny.
yep, its a riduclous question. Are the freshman goin to wear their black stripes on gamedays? Really? Are they going to use electrical tape to tape their ankles? How about safety pins to keep their chin straps on, and heck, lets just use rope for a belt.
