So who does everybody think will win out for the #2 spot behind Hyde? From what I have read Smith has showed out, but isn't fully grasping the playbook so its limiting him a little bit. Dunn has played well, but he is having the same problem from what I have read. We all know Hall will be back by week 2 or 3 so this will eventually become the 3rd string RB, but in the first few games who do you think will see the other carries behind Hyde?

Dunn may be in trouble again. Alliance police released their video of the incident and his girlfriend screamed over and over "Brionte, why did you lie? You smoked some too! Why did you lie and say I did it?"
Heard the audio on the radio today, don't know about where to find the video yet...
Hmmm...he supposedly passed a drug test.

First few games, they'll both see action. By the time B1G play starts, hopefully it won't matter anymore
The court case is over. She testified that he smoked weed. He testified that he didn't. His police drug test was negative.
At this point I'm more worried about his ability to make good choices (driving a car with weed in it, character of GF) putting him at risk in the future.
I am hoping Smith can get his stuff together. He is a crazy good athlete (just like his brother). And impressed coaches in the past (during Sugar Bowl practices).
Yah Drayton has said that Smith has a lot of talent he is just not understanding the scheme's all the way and thats holding him back. I just hope thewy start to get it, because they need a reliable back up for Hyde at least until hall gets back.
I think Smith and Dunn will hate carries. Whoever looks the best during games with be the #3 guy.

"hate" carries?
^^victim of auto correct, I'd bet. I think it was supposed to be "share."

@avail...
Dunn is not in trouble nor will he face any additional trouble. The audio and video you are describing were released awhile ago, and all of that evidence was present when the DA made his decision to drop all charges.
As for the "back up" 3rd string RB...it will be Dunn
Yes it was meant to be share..thanks hail. Damn i-phone!!!!

@ MJT...I agree. the whole time he is telling her to chill and calm down but she keeps getting more and more worked up. she clearly doesn't know the first rule about getting caught by the police is "don't get worked up/angry and be respectful." if anyone knows her, you might want to make sure there isn't something wrong with her head.
anyway, getting back to topic, i feel like smith will get it. If it wasn't for his fumbling issue last season it probably wouldn't even be a question. I look for him to have a great season or two if he finally gets to see the field again. Remember, Eddie had a fumbling problem once, too.

Did Eddie have a fumbling problem before? Never heard that before. Seems like Rod Smith and "Eddie George had a fumbling problem too" goes hand in hand in a sentence.

Yah Eddie did, but people really need to stop making that comparison. Yah hes tall fast and runs similarly, but Rod Smith will never put up the stats Eddie did. Not in this new offense. Thats not a knock on Rod really because I personally like his skill set better than all of ours backs.
