Players from Penn State that are already on the team are allowed to leave the team without any restrictions. Usually a player would have to sit out a year. Are there any players Meyer and Co. might go after?
SORRY!!! Just saw BUCKINBAMA started a thread like this.

Michael Mauti is a damn good LB, and plays at arguably our most fragile position. Also I believe they have some solid OLs.
Personally, though, I would be in favor of letting the chips fall somewhere else.
"stupid question"
hahah .... really, though - no, I don't think there's anybody there. I'll take our the guys on our roster over PSU's roster.

I hope OSU does not scavenge Happy Valley. If a recruit comes to them, then go for it. But then again, I am sitting at a desk..... So what do i know.
edit: recruit / player
Regarding de-commitments and transfers from Penn State, I will say that discussing it, and composing this post, definitetely isn't something that I take pleasure in. What happened at Penn State was terrible, it wasn't a mistake, it was the actions of a monster being actively covered up by four men. It is something that, now, the entire Penn State community is suffering for.
Is this post going to be distasteful? Perhaps. But it's something that will, at some point, be discussed. I mean absolutely no malice or disrespect to the Penn State community.
I just saw on College Football Live that, in order to take a player from Penn State's roster, any school interested in a player will have to inform Penn State of their intention to recruit that player, and the player will have to tell the university that they are ok with being recruited.
Guys like Justin Brown, Gerald Hodges, Michael Mauti, etc. who are seniors likely won't end up here, if they transfer at all.
Urban has said that we need offensive playmakers. The two guys to keep an eye on here are Silas Redd and Bill Belton. Redd is a great running back and has two years of eligibility left, Belton has three years left and is a speedy back who would fit the spread. I'm not Urban Meyer, I have no insider information, but I think these are two guys that he could go after. Silas Redd will have MANY suitors if he decides to leave State College. At receiver, a guy like Shawney Kersey could be a target, he's similar to Devin Smith, but I saw that, if he transfers, it will likely be to Rutgers.
On the offensive line, someone like Donovan Smith, a big redshirt freshman, could be a guy who Urban targets. Again, this is if he decides to transfer. On defense, I see Urban perhaps going after a guy like Khairi Fortt, a linebacker with two years of eligibility left. Glenn Carson is another guy who will likely be highly recruited.
I think a lot of the 2012 commits could end up looking elsewhere. If we have openings, I think some of them could choose Ohio State.
Again, I don't feel good about this. I feel terrible for the Penn State community, although I feel like the penalties were justified and fitting. As always, this pales in comparison to the distress and plight of the victims.
I wouldn't cheer for Michigan if they were playing the Taliban.
