Tyquan Lewis Update

Tyquan Lewis will visit UNC this Friday and come back to Ohio State for Friday Night Lights. He also says he wants to visit LSU soon before a decision. Derek and I both think he will be a Buckeye after FNL.

If you see him in this class, do you see him as an OLB with Mike Mitchell being the other LB? If they are recruiting him as a DE will this also shut the door on Munger? Hard to see him in the class unless he or Price will move to OL.

He is a Viper to OSU so a LB who plays with hand down at times

That would be great news! Helps wash away any lingering pain from earlier LB recruiting woes. We now know that Mike Mitchell is interested in OSU - if they pulled both he & Tyquan, that would be pretty damn special IMO. If we get just one of either of them - I'd still be damn pleased.

Your prediction of a top-ranked recruiting class this year may be within reach Alex...

Nobody's going to touch USC's class, quality-wise, but I can see us in the top three with USC and Bama.

I wouldn't cheer for Michigan if they were playing the Taliban.

@Thebadowl - you are likely right. I forgot about USC for a second there. However, I do think that by the time it is all said & done, many of our recruits will have a great senior season & the rankings will rise. So will the other schools players, but for some reason (I'm a homer) I think OSUs class will improve the most. Seriously, we have some kids with other-worldly potential. My predictions for final rankings (of at least one of the ranking services) for the top 5 2013 classes:

1. USC

2. OSU

3. Bama

4. Tsun

5. Texas

In all reality, you could probably mix up 2-5 in a different order but I do think this is the top 5 however you slice it...

I think it'll go USC, Bama, UM, OSU, Texas. But I agree with you on that top 5, unless LSU sneaks in

I read in this article that this visit is about Mom.  The staff just needs to impress her, and we'd likely "take the lead."  I do recall Tyquan saying at The Opening that Coach Meyer talks to his Mom a lot, so that's a good thing.

Realize OSU may not be in the top three due to numbers, depending on how many we can take....star ranking probably top 3, but numbers probably top 5-6 when it's all done...if we can get to 21-22 we have a shot at #2 if we finish with Vonn Bell and some 4 star WRs and an OL (with Mitchell and Tyquan)

^Which is great, considering how many will be in this class.  It's all about quality and consistently getting quality players in each class.  I don't think we have to worry much about that with Urban in charge.
