Shift in recruiting?

I checked out scout's current class ranks today and noticed the top 5 looked rather strange. It went.. 1.TTUN 2.Texas A&M 3.Notre Dame 4. USC 5. OSU. I was suprised to see only 1 sec team in the top 5..their newcomer A&M. Now when you look deeper there is a ridiculous 8 sec teams in the top 25 but it got me thinking that the top end of college football may be shifting. USC will be back now that their bowl ban is over and OSU and TTUN have both been recruiting extremely well. As for Notre Dame..who knows. It may be a bit of a stretch but hey..its the middle of the offseason that never ends.

You may be reading too much into a ranking that is out like 8 months prior to Signing Day. Its just too early to say if there is a 'shift' in recruiting. It would take more than one year for such a shift to take place. While it is good to see Midwest schools listed at or near the top, Southern schools like Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Georgia, Florida, Florida State, and etc. should continue to bring in top talent year after year.

^^^^^agreed...Feb. 5th 2013 is when it will matter.

If you're a top 10 class, it's really not going to matter .  The trend to watch is how many consective top 10/top 5 classes some of these schools are getting.

i agree that its the middle of the summer so its definetly way too far out to be making any huge predictions. Just think that with the way TTUN OSU and USC in particular have been recruiting they could be three teams who could end the sec reign. Itll be tough but if those 3 can consistently finish ahead of bama/lsu in particular well start seeing national champion teams coming from another confrence other than the sec. Im probly being too optomistic but i just cant wait for someone other than the sec to take home a title. obviously hoping UFM can get it done in 2013.

Well i like college and i like football...and im gunna keep doin em both cause they make me feel good!!!

who cares how many sec teams are in the top 25? after the top 15 or so the rankings dont really matter. u can go from 40th to 30th with a single 4 star recruit signing. hell, maybe even from 40th to 25th.
