My time throughout the day is divided between really hard work and constantly refreshing Buckeye sport sites. I have observed that 11w has spot on information and rational, unbiased views, along with the folks on these forums. I am new and look forward to chatting and sharing opinions and ideas. Go Bucks!

Thanks and welcome
our workdays are eerily similar

Second that
I was recently vacationing at an all-inclusinve in Mexico. The only place i could get free Wi-Fi is at the bar in the lobby. Guess where i was hanging out a couple times/day to check out 11W.
So whereas it's normally work work work refresh, it became beer tequila beer refresh. Good times. If you get a chance to go to the Riviera Maya, do it.

@ONE BAD BUCKEYE... Where did you go in Mexico? I'm headed out to Playa Del Carmen on Saturday. We are staying at Valentin Imperial Maya Resort and Spa...
Haha welcome! I laugh bc i promise we are like any other o-state fans, we are biased towards our buckeyes. One week we will love a commit, the next week we hate them ( Anzolone). And anything SCUM does we hate as well.
@one bad buckeye, my wife and I had our honeymoon down there at aventura spa palace, you're so right. it's kick-ass. while we were by the pool there was an "O-H"..."I-O" from someone almost everyday.
I know there's a game saturday, and my ass will be there.
Wow! Lots of fellow vacationers (is this a word?)!!! My wife and I stayed at the Grand Palladium from July 5-13th. We did the zip lining and chichen itza and Xel Ha and the sorts. I HIGHLY recommend Chichen Itza. One of the most amazing things I've ever seen. I have a photo of my wife and I and our friends doing the O-H-I-O in front of the main pyramid.

New to the site as well, as a member, at least. I never sign up for accounts for any reason, but couldn't pass on 11W. Whats up everyone.
Welcome, FloridaBuck! Hope you enjoy 11W as much as I have.

one bad buckeye,
i am getting married july 28th and then will actually be headed to riviera maya! we do not have an all inclusive though. we will be there from monday to sunday! the resort looks unreal man, cannot wait to get there. was there anything cool to do while there besides drink?
One Bad Buckeye - My wife and I went to Cancun and went on the (Chicken-Pizza) tour. I love ancient civilization tours. The sense of being at a place of important history is very appealing to me. Even though the Mayan's are considered primitive, their sense of astrology and science were amazing. We swam in one of their sink holes in the jungle and ate at some exotic restaurant (Part of the trip) in the middle of the jungle. What amazed me most about that place was that aside from their tourism areas, Mexico is a dirty, dirty place. They use soda cans for grass man.

i will be drinking all day and night though, i dont want you to think im not into that kinda thing!just seeing what else there is to do.
We went to Cozemel on the Buckeye Cruise a few years back. The resort areas are gorgeous, but don't stray too far. There are some scary areas with some bad hombres.
Thanks 703.
Silver, watch your back outside of the tourist areas down there.
Yup, had three guys approach me from behind outside of Hooters. (Outside the resort but still in a highly public area, an Americanized section of town) I motioned my wife in front of me. He said something to me that I interpreted as, "You have some mow"? I kept walking, couldn't understand him, wasn't interested in what he was saying. I only knew there were three of them and one of me. I kept walking and he repeated, "You have some blow"? I told my wife to keep walking and I turned to face him. I told him I didn't mess with that sh!t and he needed to walk on. He said in broken English, "I have, you need". I started to get flanked which I knew was bad news and relayed an old Spanish phrase I was taught many years before that. They took off running, one nearly getting clipped by a car. Point number 2, cars do not stop for you when crossing the street. If you are going to cross, be sure you have time and be committed lol.

I was on the other side of Mexico for my honeymoon. We went to Puerto Vallarta and I really liked it. The water isn't as pretty on the Pacific side as the Gulf, but it was really nice. We actually stayed at a resort in Nueva Vallarta which is north of town, but we caught the bus and went into town one day. We got off way to early and were in a kind of rough looking part of town, but no one really bothered us. Turns out we were not yet to town. In downtown Puerto Vallarta we walked down a lot of the streets visited a couple of churches walked down the boardwalk/beach area and really didn't have any trouble. Driving back on the bus though, I did notice some pretty nasty areas. Extreme poverty, it's sad really. We see the well groomed nice resorts and spend more in a week than a lot of them will make in a year.
We stayed mostly at the pool at our resort though and drank and ate down there every day. I pretty much treated it like I would at home on the first day gave the guy a buck or 10 pesos for a tip with every drink or when we ordered food. After about 3 days of doing that, I guess the jury was out on my wife and me because you could see the waiters just waiting for us to sit down so they could be the one to take care of us that day. We did the timeshare tour at the resort and the lady who gave us the tour was local. The guy who started the Mayan resorts hired her as a construction worker when he built his first resort and she worked her way up to a sales job and was doing wel. Anyway, on the tour they took us to a brunch and she tipped the guy like 30 pesos. She said so many times people throw down 2 pesos and act like it's a big deal. Apparently, the people at the resort only make 25 bucks a day and those guys were busting out like 12 hour shifts down there. No wonder they were so quick to take care of us, on a long day at the pool from us, they were making 20-30 bucks easy. We were easily the exception too, many weren't even tipping when they got food and drinks down there. I couldn't imagine working so hard for so little.
@buckeye in sec...I went to Playa Del Carmen on a cruise this summer. I strongly recommend you take a tour of the limestone pools around there. They're incredible and something every person should witness
Muck Fichigan
Cabo is unreal, extremely over priced in gringonized areas ,find local eateries in Mexico amd negotiate everything.Cab rides can be ridiculous from or to the resort locations from surrounding areas.
i went to jamaica 2 yrs ago and it was absolutely beautiful. customs was a bitch though, being cheap got us in some trouble when we were drunk. we were there for spring break and stayin in absolutely shitty conditions lol but it was nice for there, anyways, we get all tore up one night and start walking to find a good deal on jerk chicken... we wanted a half chicken for 5 dollars lol well the guy who said he would took us back in this alley and one guy pulled a cleaver and the other a reg pocket knife. Thank god me and my best friend are fairly well trained in martial arts. my friend is also 6'4" and 250 played football in college. a quick diversion with the left hand and an overhand right to the throat and i took off running. my friend came back with 3 chickens lmao we were very lucky though
