There were a couple guys that tweeted at Mike and asked about Mitchell being 80%. Farrell told them it wasn't as high as it was at The Opening. He's also visiting FSU 2 days before he commits.
Yep, it was my tweet. Pretty interesting turn of events. But I dont think its a big deal.
I wouldn't be surprised if he gives Urban a commit on his visit if he likes it and them just goes public at Gridiron Kings (isn't that where he's committing?)

Just found the video. At the opening he said his dad was going to book plane tickets for a visit in about a week or 2. It'll be two weeks this weekend so looks like he may not have made it up? Doesn't bode well but I'll keep the faith. In Urbz I trust

FWIW Josh Newberg the FSU guy for 247 was asked on twitter what he thought his chances of Mike Mitchell ending up at FSU(about an hour ago) were and he replied "not good".

Nobody is losing faith in UFM or having a recruiting freakout... I was simply asking a question to see if anyone had info. I don't subscribe to Rivals so I only get my info from 11W and twitter.

As far as all this about Mike Farrell and his grandioso tweets...he was also the one who said Stefon Diggs was 100% Buckeye and then look what happened there. Personally IMO Rivals sucks...Scouts is about the best with 247 being pretty close in comparison. If you wanna follow anyone on tweeter for recruiting, follow Alex and the guys here or Bill Greene and Kruelic...they actually (at least most of the time;-) know what they're talking about.

Let this be another, of the many, many examples that we have of players being high on Ohio State one minute and then not so much the next...its recruiting...IF he makes his visit to Ohio State, I see no reason he isnt a Buckeye at the end of the day...we all know what an amazing place OSU is, lets just hope he plans to visit and lets reality speak for itself...

Many recruits retweet what people like them tweet. It only becomes creepy when you feel like you can hang out with them and try to become personal with the recruit. And you don't even know how old people are that are tweeting these kids. Yeah its kinda wierd if your 40 and tweeting a 17-18 year old kid. But it your like the same age or a little older thats not wierd at all. So before you start calling people out on it take this into account.

So your defending your right to "recruit" hs boys to tOSU? The above thread was started by someone taking credit for a direct tweet to Mitchell. Not a retweet (who cares). It has been stated exhaustively on here the damage it does to a fanbase's image (see the hate tweets to Alex Anzalone) when people hide behind a username persona & say whatever they want without repercussion or consequences. I'll guarantee you most people on this site will disagree with your thought of pursuing HS boys through social media. Case in point #2 - Eric Waugh. Also, it is clear the is more damage done to our singing hopes when immature imbeciles interact with these HS kids. I will also guarantee you Urbz would probably prefer we stay out of it - more harm than good. Again, Eric Waugh.
Seriously - leave the recruiting to Urbz & company & the reporting the the experts like Alex. FYI, my son was at the 2 day camp in June (class of 2015) - and I would not want anyone sticking their nose into our business about his future, much less harrassement or the verbal attacks Anzalone endured.

Yea im defending my right because I am 17 years old (the same age of all the recruits). There is nothing wrong with me tweeting one of them and saying "hey go to ohio state and bring home the crystal ball for urban". Again if your older yea its wierd but I reserve the right to talk to kids the same age as me.

@oakland buckeye I didnt tweet any high school recruit. It was tweeted to Mike Farrell of Rivals. I have tweeted to recruits in the past but will not do it again...its wrong and pretty weird. Make sure you know the details before you assume though.
I have tweeted several recruits to wish them well and shoot down any negativity towards OSU.Some act as though all are childish. I am a 36 year old professional with several businesses in Central Ohio and do not consider my tweets creepy or childish. Jacobs stated in an interview just recently hiw much love he was shiwn on twitter and his appreciation. Its not that we can influence but we can show passion for our great state and university. Theres a fine line between belonging to every forum known and stating smart a&? Remarks about indivifuals u no nothing about, and those tweeting recruits or players. Whats the differences between bloggers and passionate fans? Dont say a living is made, alot of my time is consumed in the passion of OSU atheltics. With two children myself I believe I have taught them with a good moral compass and they could distinguish such on their own in regards to social media when the time arrises. Step off the high horses.

What's so bad about "tweeting" the players? If that's frowned upon so much then way isn't going to see one in person play a game not looked at the same way? Like bucks4real stated we all need to calm down a bit, and step back. I don't do twitter, never was a fan of it, and I'll get all my information from the professionals, but if a 5* star player is playing a game that I can make I'm going to go watch him play. According to 247sports I'll have the chance to see the 6th, and 7th rated players in the country play this season. That's a chance to see two 5* play, and I'm going to see them too. So I guess that makes me weird huh ... Ahhh Well

I just spoke to a good buddy of mine who is a HUGE FSU fan and has been all over warchant.com I think is what it's called. Anyway, he just told me that the FSU circles are saying 65% chance of Mitchell being a Buckeye but that supposedly they are trying to get Mitchell in for a visit but Mithcell hasn't said if he will or not... FWIW
