The story was a Buckshot earlier, but got buried by other links. It happens all the time, package deals.

IMO this is not a package deal. This is a kid who knows he is the top player in the country trying to use that to get his (I'm assuming) lower ranked friends scholerships. I package deal is when the shcool WANTS both players, not just one of them.

No one player is bigger than a team. If a kid tried to pull this at OSU, I'd hope we'd take his offer away.

Sounds like a kid who always gets what he wants.

I don't know. I think I'd do it, just give him a number and put him on special teams. You can always make him earn the job.

First time everyone is being honest. We worked the Boren family to get the elder. At least they're all being honest.

How did we work the Borens? All were/are/will-be elite players.

They all turned out that way, but the timing was clear.

Point is, everyone plays that game... Let's focus on that.

I'd bet the house that Carter will get his Clemson offer. It is kind of a punk move by Knemdiche but I can't imagine he won't get what he wants. I wonder if Urban would do the same?

What a joke.  I mean, it's one thing to leverage your national recognition to facilitate your teammates' recruitment--noble even--but it's completely dickheaded to threaten decommitment if your teammate doesn't get an offer.  I could care less about kids being recruiting "divas", or at least how most people define it (asking for Twitter shoutouts, playing the recruiting "game", etc.), but this shit is rediculous: I hope Clemson pulls their offer.  No eighteen year old--regardless of star potential--should ever be able to dictate the terms of his recruitment like that.  He just embarassed the Hell out of Clemson, now it's time for the school to return the favor.

Jesus, is this big business or something?  The kid wants his current TEAMmate to play with him on his next TEAM.  Its a sport, a game... right?   Right?

Oh yeah, sorry I must have been day dreaming there for a second.

I love the move, and after the nightmare against West Virginia, I am sure that they would like a giant, fast, quick defensive end/tackle.  The kid isn't asking for a damn thing for himself, just for his teammate to be able to go to college with him.

These schools get a hell of a lot out of these players, so if the players want something back,  I am all for it.

You do realize that if Nkemdiche gets away with this, this will become the norm around the NCAA? That really isn't a good thing! I'd be willing to bet that if he does get his way, if there was a senior on Clemson that had his number and Nkemdiche wants that number, he'll get it and thats not right! I remember being on varsity my freshman year and wanting 13 but a senior had it so I had to settle for 31 for my first year. I was the much better player but out of respect for a senior, I gave it up. That was the norm then. But not now..
