Interested tidbit from Wiltfong:
The nation's top CB Vernon Hargreaves III has visits scheduled for Notre Dame & Ohio State. That & more on Hargreaves. bit.ly/P5PDb8
— Steve Wiltfong (@SWiltfong247) July 3, 2012
A class of Burrows, Woodard, and Hargreaves would kill it. Not to mention Thompson and Lee at safety.

DO WANT.
Seconded. Do want bad.
More likely to get Anzalone back in the fold than this guy leaving the state of Florida
Yeah, he'll stay in Florida. tOSU is pretty set at DB anyway, although they would justifiably be delighted if he committed.

URBAN'S OHIO: IT'S THE NEW FLORIDA.
think of how good the kick coverage teams will be with all the depth on D
Hargreaves visiting is good news, but as far as defensive backs go, don't forget about Vonn Bell. OSU is very much in the picture for him.
Hey, get the kid on campus and anything can happen.
However, it's very unlikely he leaves the sunshine state. Heck, his dad coaches at USF. They're the favorite right now, and if he doens't go there he'll most likely go to UF, IMO.
Stranger things have happened though. Add him and Bell, and you might just have the best defenseive back class of the past 10 years (at least on paper).
Maybe visits like this motivate Vonn Bell to make a decision.
Hargreaves > Burrows, I think Woodard and Hargreaves would end up starting.
Steensn: if that ends up being the case, I think Burrows would be able to transition to safety because of his size. That's why I don't mind pulling in another top CB in this class.
Let's just get a lot of top talent and let them compete for starting spots
It's always nice to get a visit, but there's very little chance that he leaves Florida. I think the staff is more focused on Vonn, who has shown genuine interest.
Not just leave Florida, leave USF, where his father is a coach. Not a chance
doubt he leaves the south, let alone Florida, but this is a huge opportunity
@rdubs, that would not be a bad situation to be in!
He intercepted Shane Morris twice in this weekend's national 7v7 tournament. A preview of future things to come?
not unless michigan plays one of the florida schools...would be nice, i just don't see it
That'd be sweet if we landed him and Bell...
2 CBs being Hargreaves and Woodard
2 Safties being Bell and Burrows
Wow to go along with the DL commits we've gotten the past few years and incoming, tack along all the LBS we got including some we could potentially get next year and the 2 young ones we have already (Shazier and Grant) Our D has the potential to be straight nastttttttyyy
kareem, you're forgetting jayme thompson who, when all is said and done, could be a top 10 safety as well
Jayme Thompson is NOT going to flip. He hasn't show the slightest bit of interest.
I like to believe that my best hits border on felonious assault.

IF, and that's a big IF, we were to land Hargraeves and Bell, the breakdown would look like this IMO...
CB - Woodard, Hargraeves
S - Bell, Burrows, Thompson
Star/OLB - Lee
BUCKMAN, Jamie Thompson is not Dymonte Thomas :)
Jayme Thompson already flipped from WVU.
Dymonte Thomas will not flip. Not that it matters. We'll be fine with Thompson and Bell.
I guess Buckman doesn't pay to much attention! Would be nice to get this kid but like everyone said will be hard to pull him from the south. We do have a nice DB class as it is and I would probably prefer Vonn bell over Hargaeves at this point. But I would gladly take both if they want to commit. Wouldn't leave to many schollies open for this class though. Only a few for Oline and the rest for WR and LB.
I really like Jayme Thompson. I think that if we get Hargreaves, we'll be done with Bell. There's no way we take five DB's in this class.
I wouldn't cheer for Michigan if they were playing the Taliban.
Have some pity my AC broke and I don't operate well in heat. I meant Dymonte ,but I was still wrong.

Haha, definitely understnad
What are you guys talking about? Isn't it 75 degrees with only 50% humidity in Ohio? Cuz that is what it is here on the coast of Cali :) What do you need AC for?
Get him on campus and a little while with Urban, you never know. I agree and don't think he'll leave the south....but really hope he does.

Consider this. He is coming to visit, generally we don't invest time and effort if not for a reason. If this kid is genuinne and likes OSU and is willing to invest time in finding out, I say we have a shot, and a good one at that.
@steensn
Don't EVER insult Burrows like that again. He is our most important recruit. He is a true Buckeye. He is recruiting for us and he is a hell of a player. Keep your terrible opinion to yourself sir. All you need to say is Burrows can play safety if we get Hargreaves.
F--- Michigan!
Depending on what happens with Bell, I think Burrows ends up at safety and has the tools to be a future potential All American
@Drew, take a chill pill. Hargreaves is BETTER than Burrows. It's not a "terrible opinion". We're all Buckeye fans here, no need to attack him. There's not much to dispute when he's consistently ranked higher and plays against better competition than D2 OHSAA.
I think it is great TOSU is on his visit list. There is a chance he may want to be a part of a tremendous defense/secondary, and play @ a school which will be in contention for title games. I do not think USF is there, been to 3 of their home games and not to impressed. Wonder what, if any connection Coach Meyer has with Coach Hargreaves ?
USF has improved a lot. UFM has those Florida connections and anything can happen once you get a guy on campus, see Joey Bosa (although Hargreaves does not have the pre-existing Ohio connections...to my knowledge).
Really Drew? When did I say anything bad about burrows? I didn't say he was bad, I just said Hargreaves and Woodard would start because their better. I was only talking about CB, which is where all three are targetted for. We can only start two CBs but we can have 85 starting quality CBs if we wanted. Please don't overreact to my post unless I say burrows it terrible, which I didn't.
Do we really know who is BETTER right now between Burrows and Hargreaves? They aren't even into their senior season of HS football, we wont know who is better for 4-5 years from now...as of now, the potential for both is sky high, landing both would be incredible but right now Burrows, Woodard, and Thompson are an outstanding collection of DBs...lets see if Bell joins the party, I see Hargreaves being a buckeye at 0.02% right now
I'd say Woodard and Burrows is a tough comparison, but Hargreaves pretty much goes out against the toughest competition in FL and in camps, and shows that hes the best in the nation this year.
@Fromthe18 ... I somewhat agree w/what your saying, but as of right now Hargreaves would be considered the better player, but the better prospect is probably Burrows as I think his ceiling is a bit higher. They will all be at "The Opening" I think, so that would be the best place to do an apples to apples comparison, they'll be competing against the same people. I'll take any of the above mentioned players, and throw a V.Bell on top!!!
Burrows will be a monster, no matter if he's a safety or a corner.
I wouldn't cheer for Michigan if they were playing the Taliban.
Look, I have an opinion and it ain't worth much. From what little I've seen and heard Hargreaves is showing a ton of potential in camps as well as Woodard while burrows seems to have struggled. Does that mean in three years Woodard won't be better? No, but I have not seen indication otherwise. Burrows is a great get, I don't want him any other team, Hargreaves is likely not coming here. But if I had a choice right now, I would likely have to pick Hargreaves and Woodard if I were to pick two. That means nothing negative for burrows as both of those guys are amazing recruits. We're talking about which Porsche we would pick, someone has to lose.
@Urbz
Trotwood-Madison may be D-2 ,but they do play against D-1 schools. They've played Wayne high school for the last few years. They have also played schools from Texas, and Kentucky.
Adolphus Washington played D-3. Taylor Decker D-2.
I get what you're saying though.
On a side note
This year Trotwood will play against University School(Fl.)- Home of ESPN 150 reciever Jordan Cunningham. So if anybody wants to get a look at that it will be on ESPN and the game will be played at Kings High School in Cincinnati Sun. August 26th kickoff at 3P.M.
If you buy a ticket to the T-wood game it will also get you into the Moeller vs. Gilman(Md.)/(Henry Poggi) game which is right after the T-wood game and should start at about 7P.M. Will be shown on ESPNU.
I'm telling you all this now because these games will get packed/sold out very quickly.

Wanna look like a recruiting guru? Then say you doubt he leaves the south.
Been following this site for a long time now, but this is my first post. Just thought it was the right time since i had some insight on it fwiw lol. i live in new tampa and went to school at wharton where hargreaves goes, one of my best friends' brother plays on the team with vernon and i asked him about it about 3 weeks ago when his name came up, which school he was thinking about. sadly at that time he was tellin everyone that USC was his main choice, good news was that he also said that ohio state was his 2nd choice and he was really interested in what were building. Dont know what his stance is now, if he got a call from urbz or what but i think we have a legit shot if hes on campus.
Well good job on your first post.
On topic though get off your booty and find out what his interests are!
Also it seems like he wants to leave Florida then, so that means we actually have a good shot at him. We cannot let USC get him, have you seen USC's class so far? Get this guy and let's get Vonn Bell! If we do that we will be getting coverage sacks with our amazing D-line and we could have a bunch of islands and could blitz more players!
Muck Fichigan!
F--- Michigan!
Oh you guys...:)
I pray he does not go to USC. According to rivals they have the #6 class in the country with only 11 verbal commits. Everybody ranked above them have at least 7 more commits. Damn you Kiffin.

USC = highest quality class this year by far. It's sick...
tampabuck that is interesting, every recruiting analyst has pegged him as staying in florida
That is interesting. I think most recruiting analysts are basing thier ideas on his dad; if he's never told anyone of them he wants to leave Florida, then naturally they'd peg those schools as the favorites.
If this ends up being a Kiffin vs Meyer battle, I like our odds.
Would be the best DB class in the country by far.
Guess my intel was right...if were option 2 hopefully we blow him away if he does in fact visit and change his mind because USC is stackin up
FWIW: Don't forget he's also visiting Notre Dame.
I'd rather have Vonn Bell, Lewis, Mitchell, and 3 receivers... At the end of the day, this kid most likely stays in FL. 2014 is the class to watch. This is the class the staff will time to develop relationships with, and bring in the highest talent. Meyer is doing a great job, but a little more time and he will haul in the top recruiting class in the country.
Hargreaves is not going to OSU, itll be somewhere toasty, SC or a school in Florida
I would take him if he wanted to come here but I doubt he leaves Florida as well.
You have to hate losing more than you love winning! GO BUCKS!!
Its nice to have any of these kids being discussed. They wont have to be great with the D-Line they're playing behind.
Follow me @jaythesportsguy
Thanks for the info BUCKMAN...I'm going to tune into that for sure. Can't wait to see how Troutwood does against FL...should be interesting.
