This is Helmholdt's tweet from around midnight last night.. He later said that the news could come in the morning or the evening. When prodded for more information he wouldn't budge.
If it means OSU it would almost have to be Munger or Lewis. I don't think Green or Treadwell are ready to commit.

while green may be leaning UM, I agree its probably not him. Treadwell seems to be dancing, even though he may be a silent commit. Silas redd news could be one of them , but thats big news for USC.......not penn state.

There was another tweet, I think from Mike Farrell, that said the BIG news would upset OSU fans and make UM fans happy. The only thing I can think of is Green committing to UM.
Farrell says "BIG de-commitment" that may be going down.

I don't know why Buckeye fans would be upset no matter what Green does. We aren't even recruiting him.
If it were an OSU player, I wouldn't think it would be Bosa, since he was at FNL. Barrett, Baugh, Jacobs would be my best guesses.
Also there was a rumor last week about Mike Hill, but it looked like it wasn't accurate, but who knows.
I was just Thinking out Loud, I saw the Ohio State sad and michigan happy and assumed the decommit comment was pertaining to a possible decommit. Probably a comment I should of kept to myself. I was really thinking if it was actually a decommit and it would make Michigan happy and the Buckeyes upset it could be Dorian Johnson. Contemplating just based off of the comments made, I'm not truly worried or concerned about either happening.
Northbrook, I was thinking the same about Green, though people seem to be upset that Ohio State has moved on and Green is out.
I'll be upset if Green goes to UM. A power back at his level behind that OL is scary.
when they say a 'pair' of B1G teams, I don't think one player committing to one school would incite the thought of a 'pair' of schools especially since green was recently told by the osu staff they weren't recruiting him anymore. i'd think it would be a transfer (or change in commitment) or a schedule change.
no one brought it up, but what about dunn? we haven't heard much about his story lately, just a thought. he was heavily considering michgan later on.

Well Helmholdt said two pieces of news, that are seperate. So it is likely news that directly affects one B1G team at a time. Probably Silas Redd and something else.
Silas Redd just deleted his twitter (preparing to take some criticism) and a scUM recruit landing is my guess
As I.8 said much earlier, Helmholdt is claiming it has nothing to with Michigan.
Of course, he may be trying to back track.

He is the Midwest Recruiting Analyst for Rivals. He doesn't support any of the schools.
If Green goes to michigan he needs to be prepared to lose to the Buckeyes every year because that is what will happen.
I think we return to the tit for tat days of the game. Green would be a load to take down if he goes to UM behind the past two lines. If I'm Green, I am going to UM no questions asked no matter my past allegiance. He wouldn't be looking at much tough competition for he starting running back spot after his freshman year is over setting him up for killer three year run at starting tailback.
Of course this is all speculation, but that is all he has to go on at this point in time.

michigan certainly seems to be on the upswing, and given where they were under Rodriguez how could they not be. Still, michigan had the ball bounce their way a lot last year. If they can produce similar results this year, I'll grant that michigan is "back." Until then, all I see is that they have recruited well during a two-year sretch in which we have recruited nearly as well (this year) or better (last year). Couple that with the fact that Urban Meyer has already proven that he is one of the top coaches of the BCS era and I see no need --yet-- to concede anything to michigan in The Game.
I didnt say concede... but I think gone are the days we just assume we are going to win. With Rod at the helm I just assumed we were going to win, without any fear. Now that is gone, and it isn't just based on last years very close game.
Get used to Michigan beating Ohio State more often than Ohio State beating Michigan. They are back. And we lost the best coach we've ever had. Hoke is their Tressel, he gets it, I don't think Urban does

@Steesns, But what is it based on? Say that both teams have recruited well, by which I mean have recruited highly regarded players who fit the teams' scheme and philosophy. Let's call the Jimmys and the Joes a wash. That leaves the Xs and the Os. What has Hoke done to this point that merits being put on the same level as Urban? Until Hoke can beat Urban straight up, I'll go right ahead chalking up that November game in the win column for the Buckeyes. JT went 9-1 against michigan. I expect Meyer to go 10-0 in The Game until given a good reason not to.
1033: what do they get? I am not sure what "it" is? Urban's record against rivals is unbelievable and having grown up in Ohio and coaching at Ohio State, I am not sure what he would not understand...
@1033 Buckeyes had a terrible season last year and still hung with Michigan last year on the road, with a freshman QB, an interim coach, and a program in disarray. Things are fine in C-Bus and with tOSU. Trust me.
UFM has had a picture of Woody Hayes in every office he ever worked in. Earle Bruce gave the eulogy at his dads funeral. He said when he worked the booth for ESPN at a home game, he cried when TBDBITL came out of the tunnel. He said the only job he would come out of retirement was tOSU. What doesn't he "get"?

But opinions are based on things, or at least they ought to be. My opinion of Urban Meyer is based on his coaching record which I don't count as 0-0 as you seem to do. This is not a coach who had success in division II or the Big East and has to show he can coach with the big boys. He has coached in the SEC and won two national championships at Florida. Why wait and see when we've already seen it? So there you have it, now I've told you what my opinion is based on.
Well number 1 may be Kyle Prater getting cleared to play at NU. I suspect 2 is Silas Redd news later.

What do we know:
- Urban did well as a coach (I'm glad to have him over any option out there actually)
- Urban has 0 years under his belt as OSU's head coach
- Hoke has one year under his belt
- Hoke beat OSU (though not a great team or situation)
- Hoke has recruited amazingly the past two years, setting up amazing talent.
- Urban recruited amazingly last year (given the time constraints) and is looking to do a good-amazing job this year.
Given that info, it seems that the talent will be '='ish and I would take one season and a win with the current team as more proof of potential success than a prior coaching success, though nothing to overlook.
Who do I want as coach? Urban Meyer. Do I think Hoke is a perfect fit for UM, yes. Do I think he will also have success, he has already with poor talent. So what is he going to do when he gets his great talent, all the sudden suck? I doubt it.
The info clearly indicates that at minimum the games will likely be close and because it is a rivalry, which makes emotions play even more of a role, anyone can win. That to me indicates clearly that the days of continual domination are likely over and the games will be close if not traded back and forth on home turf.
There is nothing to indicate thatUM under Hoke is going to get squashed(ouch, see what I did there?) , quite the opposite. The indications are that he will have success which means we will have another very tough rivalry.
Green to tTUN...last one being Treadwell (if he doesn't go south and I don't think he will). That will make 25...they're full now...no ones decommitting from OSU. I'm not sure where that is coming from or why????

Purdue got a commit that no one cares about, JH indicated that it could be one of the pieces of news. Now saying the other "BIG" news will come later this week

1. Caleb is not a statue, and he's still very high on OSU, so if you're gonna dump on him, please do it elsewhere.
2. I don't think he ends up at either school, since both schools have QB choices that they seem to be pushing for harder at the moment.

We have Barrett coming in and some are saying we'll get two. So I'm not sure what the difference is with Morris and ttun.
Some rumblings at TOS, but per Henderson roughly a month ago, he was told by Michigan to be their #1 overall recruit for 2014 and told by OSU that he was the #1 QB they are after.
Certainly doesn't make sense for Michigan with guys like Jabril Peppers, Malik McDowell, and if you want to get extremely optimistic, Hand.

Thanks, BASSPLAYER, I had not seen that yet. I still believe that if Henderson is offered, and I think he will be, that he will be Meyer's to lose.
I would hate for Henderson to head off to that team up north, but it would make the decision of Henderson or Barker a whole lot easier. I dont think we get both, but I would hate to see the staff say no to either one.

I like Barker and Henderson as well, but we can't sleep on DeShone Kizer either. He appeared to have a strong arm at FNL, and he was the fastest QB as well.
It will be interesting to see how the 2014 class plays out.

Triv, no, I haven't forgotten about Crest, but it's interesting that he hasn't been competing in these camps. His recruitment seems very quiet.
