said academics "tipped the iceberg" for him. Had a little trouble putting the hat on over his headset, kind of an awkward 10 seconds, haha. Just thought it was a little comical.
pretty clear that this was all mike heuerman's doing...they're buddies as we all know.
makes me wonder, where was jeff heuerman in all this? and why didn't rod smith step up w/ jaylon smith?? imagine if those ohio state guys stepped up to the plate, we'd have jaylon, heuerman, and anzalone. i guess my loyalty to ohio state runs a little deep, these guys have to make their own life decisions anyways.
Jaylon Smith is the best high school linebacker I have ever seen. He and Anzalone are going to be a powerful combination for whoever their coach will be by that time. Missing out on those two sucks, but I think we will be just fine with the LB's we are in on now.
Great recruiting class or no, Brian Kelly is living on borrowed time at ND. I foresee a lot of recruiting class defections and/or transfers depending on whether he gets fired this season or next.
Stopped caring about his recruitment a long time ago. Now that I know he is going to ND, and he will never play against OSU, I can completely forget he ever existed.
@ Snoodogg22: I couldn't agree more...Dad wanted him to go to ND (or some where besides OSU). It was obvious. Just wish Dr.A would have went about it a little more maturely rather than getting upset and lashing out first, then thinking later and retracting comments that were unecessary to begin with. Oh well...it's over. As one other said above, Jaylon and him will be a tandem that's for sure.

Good luck to him, I wish him luck. Should Ohio State ever meet ND while he's at ND, I do hope we run over him down after down on the way to kicking ND's ass.
What an insightful comment. I'm sure we'll be hearing more from you about this after Notre Dame loses to Oklahoma and USC by about 60 combined points this fall.
You think that'll have any impact on Kelly's job security?
Get a clue, Notre Dame's program is moving up, and quickly. Kelly has been undoing the damage that Weis put on the program, and the team has improved at 21/22 positions. They were--and are--a QB away from being a very dangerous team. I would actually say that they are a very dangerous team given the skill level at RB/TE/OL/DL/LB this season. A solid QB would make them BCS-level.
The folks who make the decisions know a little bit more than you on the direction of the program. In the era before Kelly, Notre Dame couldn't run the ball or stop the run to save its life. Hell, they couldn't even defend the pass from 2007-2009.
As expected, given Kelly's record of successes at GVSU, CMU, and Cincinnati, he has turned the ship around and once a quarterback is found you'll see double-digit wins for the Irish. Of course, that probably won't happen until 2013. 2011 was their year and Tommy Rees/Dayne Crist blew it pretty badly.
seems to me that ND will be a 3-4 loss team this coming season, due to their tough schedule, thus probably missing a BCS Bowl game. So it may be Kelly going into his 4th year without making BCS Bowl game, in 2013. Be that at, as it may be, Kelly will be going into the 2013 season sort of on the WARM Seat.
I don't see ND keeping a coach more than 5 years, if that coach only leads the team to $1,500,000/bowl payouts while missing the $10,000,000 BCS payout. So Kelly may need to make a BCS Bowl game in 2013 to keep his job. I'd say he is under some job production pressure.
forget Anzalone...BOSA and MITCHELL on a defense with Spence, Pittman, Washington, Reeves (big fan of this kid), both Grants, and Shazier, with the potential for Bell as well.... this very thought warrants an arrest for assault.... said it before, say it again, Anzalone will be another decent player for a underacheiving ND team and I am willing to bet there will be some sort of drama between his Dad and coach Kelly if baby Anzalone isnt treated properly
Just another bench warmer. They will win 8-games maybe once in the next 10 years. They will get no votes for any playoff bowl games untill they join the Big Ten or 12 or A-10 .
did he say why..
It dont matter I just hope he does good over there..
Good for him and daddy
Tough times never last, tough people do

wish him the best. ND getting some good kids.
Really hoping he would commit to PSU so we could own him for the next 4 years. Best of luck to him though.
Good luck to the kid. Nice to have some closure.
Plenty of better linebackers we can get.. I would have loved to have him but oh well whats not to say he decommits from nd like he did us?
Fini. Thank God. But best of luck to him though.
Can't wait to see Brian Kelly yell at him for no reason.

Academics really "tipped the iceberg" (twice!) ... Shaking. My. Head.
Good luck to him.
how does one tip an iceberg? must have a big ass boat

You don't have a clue what you're talking about.
Just saw on twitter m herman said he know for a couple of weeks.. I just saw where herman and bosa was going back and fourth..
Good luck to him, I wish him luck. Should Ohio State ever meet ND while he's at ND, I do hope we run over him down after down on the way to kicking ND's ass.

Bosa tweeted Anzalone:
OSU > ND
Damn he is one of my favs.
Maybe we can stop talking about him?
I do hope he goes 0-4 vs. Purdue and Michigan State.

Good kid. Really, REALLY weird situation. Wish the best of him to ND and hope everyone can stop being so salty about this.
I love how people act like they know he's a "great/good kid"...we really don't know any of them.

Thank God its finally over! I feel sorry for the kid, Notre dame! But hell atleast he isn't a buckeye. AND WE DONT HAVE TO SEE ANOTHER POST ABOUT HIM!
Wherever you are, there you be!
here's to hoping this is the last forum entry about Anzalone...
forget Anzalone...BOSA and MITCHELL on a defense with Spence, Pittman, Washington, Reeves (big fan of this kid), both Grants, and Shazier, with the potential for Bell as well.... this very thought warrants an arrest for assault.... said it before, say it again, Anzalone will be another decent player for a underacheiving ND team and I am willing to bet there will be some sort of drama between his Dad and coach Kelly if baby Anzalone isnt treated properly
Best of luck to him and congrats to Notre Dame... (please let this be the last thread on him..)
I hope this is the last post about this kid good luck to him but having a great shot a Mike Mitchell makes me feel alot better.
