Does anybody think we will get 1 or more commitments from 2014 prospects at or directly after FNL? It would be nice if somebody like McMillan or Garrett made the call at FNL! I get a feeling we will be "looking good" for quite a few guys after FNL but would love to see a commit or 3 ;)

I honestly don't expect any 2014 commitments for a while. I wouldn't be completely shocked if something happens at or shortly after FNL, but I'm not expecting it.
Early commitments in general can be good and bad. They can be good because a guy can work on recruiting others to the class, especially if you land a kid who is a stud and someone others will want to play with. But the downside is that they have longer to contemplate decommitment.
Id expect the 2014 kids to start making their choices sometime towards the middle to end of the season...but for those that make it to FNL in any capacity is HUGE, then get them back for a game
any word on Mike Mitchell? I think he made an FSU trip yesterday...is he coming to FNL?
would love to know what the staff would predict as a % for his commitment...80, 60, less?

Mitchell can't come to FNL, he'll be at Gridiron Kings in Orlando.

Well...that de-escalated quickly.
When told OSU set school record for 50+ games this year, UFM said "That's good. We're gonna break that next year."
Mitchell said he was going to announce at Gridiron Kings... Thompson and the boys are down there with him, if he doesnt pick OSU, it isnt due to lack of effort

I have no inside sources like DrewBuckeye but I'm going to predict we land a 2014 guy at FNL or in the week after it. I know it's really early but I just have a good feeling about Urban reeling one in. Can't hurt to be optimistic.

Agree. But whatever man, if the kid that good wants to commit without first visiting, I'm not going to complain. Hopefully, we'll get some positive recruiting updates throughout the weekend. Still lots of available talent, but not many spots left. Should be interesting.
What did the FNL update end up being?
Pretty sure Marcus Baugh never visited OSU. Sometimes recruits are so certain about a school, they don't feel like they need to visit it. Possible Mitchell is checking out FSU to make sure he wants to be in Columbus (hopeful guess).

Everyone says Mitchell didn't visit. Isn't it possible he did & just didn't publicize it? If anyone, including 11W staff, knows for sure if he did or did not visit - feel free to speak up either way..
