Alright, I know this is a very odd request, but trust me, I have a really good reason behind it.
I need to see if I can get a size large 1942 shirt, new with tags. I've looked on google and don't see any, but I'm going to continue to look.
Unfortunately, none on ebay either.
Again, I have a really good reason for wanting this and it's not for personal use. I'm willing to pay the 28 bucks plus shipping that it would have cost someone(assuming you didn't get it on sale).
If someone could help me with this, I'd be very appreciative and will share why I need it at a later date.
Thanks!
EDIT: This is the shirt I'm looking for:
http://shop.ohiostatebuckeyes.com/COLLEGE_Ohio_State_Buckeyes_Mens_T-Shi...
And in hopes of more people reading this, this is why I need the shirt:
I had the pleasure of meeting Charles "Chuck" Csuri today. If you read the description of the shirt on the link I posted above, you'll see this:
"The graphic on the upper back pays tribute to 1942 MVP Charles Csuri, who went on to win the Bronze Star for his service in WWII."
So the reason I'm going all out to get one of these? Chuck never got one. He mentioned to me today that he said he should have bought one. If you notice around the bronze star in the picture, it has the initials CC. I assume that's for Charles Csuri.
I guess I don't think Chuck should have bought one. I think he should have been given one at the very least, but he never was. I only got to have a brief conversation with him and he didn't seem like the type of guy that would wear this around because it was "his" shirt. But I think he should at least own one.
So please, Buckeyenation, help me out. Chuck goes to the same chiropractor as I do in Columbus so I have regular access to him. I'm actually hoping to get to go out to lunch with him at the end of the month and I would love to present this to him.
With him being a fairly prominent figure at OSU, there's a good chance a lot of you know him. If you do, please do not tell him I'm doing this as I'd like to surprise him with it, plus again, this is probably not something he'd want me to do anyways.
If any of you could help, I would be most appreciative!

Just called all buckeye corners, buckeye rooms, college traditions, longs, college town, and the OSU website and nothing.
I'm on the case. Cant promise anything but I'll help ya look
I know there's a game saturday, and my ass will be there.
Thanks BuckeyeEddie!
Just called Jeffersonville Nike Outlet and nothing along with the Cardboard Heroes stores...
Thanks,
Ryan
Have you tried contacting Nike directly? I'm at work and blocked out of the nike site.
I know there's a game saturday, and my ass will be there.
I'm online chatting with a nike rep.....see where this leads....
I know there's a game saturday, and my ass will be there.
I'm on the phone with them as well, lol...
Unfortunately, I got nothing. I told them why I'm looking for one though and I'm hoping it makes it far enough up the chain that I can get my hands on one. If they found out why I want one, I would think that I'd be able to purchase one somehow, someway...
Thanks BuckeyeEddie! I appreciate you helping me look while you're at work :)
Even if this doesn't work out (though I really hope it will), the comraderie of Buckeye nation is really awesome to see in action. Very cool, BuckeyeEddie. Very cool, indeed.
When told OSU set school record for 50+ games this year, UFM said "That's good. We're gonna break that next year."
rats, jake the nike rep said he checked the warehouse (rehearsed line i'm sure) and a couple other sites and found nada.
when he asked if there was anything else he could do i said thanks but no, and I ended with a "Go Bucks!" to which he responded "OH-"
sorry i couldnt come up with it ohioste.

@ohioste Can you deal with an XL and shrink it?

I thought of that too but the tags would get messed up if you wash it

Not a problem BuckeyeEddie! I do appreciate the help.
Posted all of this in the op.
Thanks!
I had a feeling there was a good reason for your motivation. very very cool

Not to offend anyone on this site, but I've also posted this on another buckeye site that I frequent. It's important to me that I find this...
for a cause that legit, he can have mine, and it has been worn exactly ONE time. If that will do, I'll give mine up.
Another option, check TJ Maxx, they constantly have good Buckeye gear that is 1 season old, extra stuff that just never sold out.
Thank NIBLICK. They have XLs available on the site at OSU, so if worse come to worse, I'll be purchasing that. That's what I'm wearing in the picture but he's a little thinner than I am, so I think a large would fit him better.
This is actually one of my favorite shirts so mine is well worn and probably shrunk a little as well.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
You should grab that XL in case it sells out and just return it if you find a L.
Good call DMCDOUGAL and done.
i have this shirt and literally always wondered about the initials but was never motivated enough or remembered to check it out. This is awesome of you

I saw some on clearance at the Sports Authority off of Brice Road in Columbus a week or two ago. I don't remember what sizes they had though.
If anyone visits any of the Sports Authorities let me know. I'm going to try and make it out to both that and Dick's tomorrow over on Sawmill. If any of you are out that way, I'd appreciate a look. Thanks all for your help!
@ohioste, Glad to help man, keep us posted.

This is awesome. Way to go, OHIOSTE!
Probably worth emailing Rob Lachey (Head Equipment Manager) at Ohio State...I've dealt with him before, he is very friendly and very helpful and, they may have some left over.
Is it possible to just buy an XL and take it to a tailor and have it restitched? I had one of my uniforms done that way one time and you would never know the differance.
I tried both Dick's and Sports Authority on Sawmill and nothing. The XL will arrive Tuesday though.
Thanks all for your help again.
Mine did not shrink much ... I dont have it handy to see what it is made of but I tink it is more than mere 100% cotton.
Want me to jump into my jigsaw.com and hand over as many Nike bigwig email addresses that I can find?
It's that dri-fit fabric or whatever, which I believe is part polyester blend
That shirt is BA. Hope you find one.
Ohioste - just wanted to say that you are one rad dude!

Yeah, as I said in the OP, I'm not sure Chuck will actually ever wear this. He's so humble that I think he may be embarassed to wear "his" shirt. With that said still, he should at least own one.
So the XL will work for those purposes. But it would be nice that if he decided to wear it, he'd have one that fits. I've got until the end of the month so we will see...
Nothing at the tjmaxx on Henderson.
Don't usually comment, but this thread is interesting. I might suggest that someone in football operations could help you out with this. We all know about the letter Coach Meyer sent out to the alumni, and this sort of thing has to be exactly what he was talking about. Maybe even tweet at Mark Pantoni and see if he'd respond.
Good luck!
Yeah, I never even thought to try him. Never tweeted before but do follow him. We will see what happens.
I wouldn't worry too much about the size. I would think he'd be glad to have it as a piece of memorabilia, rather than adding it to his wardrobe.
Yeah, I agree. Like I said, an XL will be here on Tuesday. Still would be nice to have the right size. Doesn't make or break it though.
