Didn't want to create a post for this but I wanted to make my fellow bucks know what's going on in the land of twitter
@M_Ferns10: @SarahMHughes87 @alex11w Alex is displaying what I didn't like about 11W. Tend to show too much of a fan side with things. #calmdown
2014 prospect Mike Ferns
The kid has a right to his own opinion, I do disagree out of all the OSU sites I believe this site gives it to you straight.. Thought it was interesting he was defending a blogger from TSUN but hey I wish him the best and much success.

Before the comments get out of hand, let's hesitate to badmouth an Ohio kid with a good reason to rule out OSU. Not to mention, he's obviously aware of the site, and may read this thread.
He's entitled to his opinion, I have some negative views of sites like mgoblog, so it's all concurrent. Wish him luck wherever he ends up.
I think he grew up in a Michigan home or something. kid never even really gave OSU a chance. just wish the best of luck to him and move on. tons of great linebackers in the class besides him
born and raised in Cleveland
He has a good reason for not wanting to go to OSU, he said he doesn't want to go to a school with a big city like Columbus, wish him nothing but the best where ever he choses.
Favorite Buckeye: Obviously BJ Mullens
Too much of a fan side? Well, to be fair, this is a fan site...oh well, best of luck to the gent. Buck I.8 is totally right here; the gent's more than entitled to his opinion, even if I don't agree.
@CLE on the contrary, he grew up in a home and town nuts about OSU. But I respect him for not letting that control his decision, and making an informed decision based on what he was looking for. Had I not grown up in the city, Cbus may be too big for me as well.
@BUCK I.8 - If you're referring to St. Clairsville, that's about 50/50 OSU/WVU--with maybe a slight edge to the Mountaineers.
I guess its just hard for me to imagine growing up in Ohio, getting an OSU scholarship, and declining it. but like you said everyone is different. we're sitting pretty with Raekwon McMillan and Clifton Garrett so its not gonna hurt us too bad
born and raised in Cleveland
@Hodge, All I'm going off of is an interview with Ferns in which he mentioned that his hometown, or at least those closest to him were buckeye fanatics, and would have a hard time accepting it if he chose somewhere else.
@Buck I.8 - My girlfriend's from there (actually her brother goes to school with him), it's like 10-15 min from the west Virginia state line, so allegiance is definitely split there, with some Pitt loyalty, as well. Not surprising that he's from a Buckeye family, they're still well represented; I've just ran into my fair share of haters haha.
The nice thing is even if you don't have a twitter account you can Google it. Although I'm biased - I honestly believe Alex was right about the original argument that had taken place & that Sarah was talking a little poopy. Derek Green is a great player but would've been a luxury at this stage of recruiting. Looks to me like young Michael jumped in without a real dog in the fight. From what I can tell he's a pretty big UM fan and not so much of an OSU fan & if I didn't know any better I'd say there's a very good chance he'll end up at school there. Oh well - win some lose some - good luck young man...
The world is full of kings & queens who'll blind your eyes & steal your dreams - it's heaven & hell - Ronnie James Dio.
Ferns seems to REALLY hate OSU, which is strange, considering that he apparently grew up as a fan. Weird.
As for the actual Twitter fight, it was hilarious. Sarah Hughes was saying that the OSU staff was "saving face" and made it seem like Green eliminated them. Clearly just trying to stir up the pot and give Michigan fans some smack-talking material. I really don't understand why Ferns felt as if he had to get involved. Whatever.
EDIT: Also, this title isn't quite fitting. This isn't slander, this is just a kid running his mouth, getting involved in a very stupid Twitter fight.
I wouldn't cheer for Michigan if they were playing the Taliban.
ha, so glad this kid isnt going to be a buckeye... hope he goes to UM and pulls a Prescott Burgess...or better yet, pulls a Mike Hart http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6vT-XY25-s ... we love you Mr. 0-4
I thought the comment was extremely unfair to Alex and the guys here at 11W. The fact that it was made just after Sarah Hughes did the fangirl thing of claiming that OSU dumped Green before Green dumped OSU makes it even more unfortunate.
But he's not coming to OSU. At least he's not leading the coaching staff on about that.
Sure hun..we(o- line/rb's) would love to show you what smash mouth football is all about..
Slander? lol
Taquitos.
Guys just a big miscommunication here...spoke to Mike and a fans comments here were taken as staff comment....he is a good kid and we wish him luck wherever he goes. You all should too.
The next step is obvious. All users sharing the same first name with any of the staff must be banned.
I feel like I'm in high school again...
On another note, is every female sports blogger gorgeous?

He grew up in West Virginia and recently moved to St. Clairsville. I think I recall in Alex's interview with him that he wasn't a Buckeye fan growing up. I think we will survive without him, good luck Ferns.
Tough times never last, tough people do
BTW, Fern did NOT grow up as a HUGE TOSU fan. I asked him how a kid from Ohio could eliminate the Bucks in such short order back when he named his top 5 or top 3, whichever it was, and his respeonse to me was that he really didn't care for the Buckeyes all that much growing up and that his family actually followed the mountaineers a LOT more closely. I don't know where people are getting that he was a big time Buckeye homer but they are simply incorrect or misinformed. He literally told me that eliminating the Buckeyes "wasn't a difficult decision at all"... That was all I needed to hear. LOL I respect his opinion and he has a right to think what he likes and attend college where he wants to but I did quickly "unfollowed" him to say the least... Just thought I'd clear that up for those who are interested...

Noun:
The action or crime of making a false spoken statement damaging to a person's reputation.
In my Opinion it was slander I'm a fan of the way Alex reports I think he is extremely fair and treats these kids with a lot of respect. But like he said just a Misunderstanding no harm no foul. Young Man whatever school you go to I will root for you UNLESS YOUR PLAYING AGAINST THE BUCKS good luck.
p.s. When I created this post I was hoping there would be no attacks on this kids.... IMO all the buckeyes on this post are extremly Classy making me more proud to be a Buckeye!!!
Hardly home but always reppin
I hadn't seen any other pics besides her avi. That's clearly her best side, but it's not like she's repulsive or anything.

@Hail - We forgive you...we understand...you're just used to Michigan gals. ;)
"I'm One Bad Buckeye, and I approve this message."
lmao but dont be so quick to discredit michigan girls... oddly enough they will surprise you from time to time
mark may wins douchebag of the year... again
Sarah writes gorgeously.
I'm not going to say she's "hit" or anything, but her avi is false advertising for sure.
I'm sure we're all ridiculously attractive people on this site.
I resemble a young Steve Buschemi myself. Don't be a hater.
hahahhahahahahhhahhahahhaha what happen to this post. Btw I resemble a young Denzel if i do say so myself
spell check
Hardly home but always reppin
dezel? is this a much more appeasing denzel to the opposite sex?
mark may wins douchebag of the year... again
LOL @ Alex, quite off color of you but it's hilarious because sarah writes everything with an annoying slant (e.g. - michigan slant) and it's ironic the whole argument
She looks like Octomom.... sorry I'm not sorry.
C.L.E Man I rep my town, everyday bleed that orange and brown.
who gives a shit what she looks like? what does that have to do with anything?
Because no matter what women do or how well they do it, how they look doing it will always be as if not more important. You think Erin Andrews got her job due to her vast and incisive knowledge of CFB? It sure wasn't for asking the hard hitting questions like "Is it true that Superman sleeps in Tim Tebow pajamas?
CLEBUCK for the win lol..got me in stitches, bud.

I don't always take names when I kick ass but when I do, they most often belong to a Wolverine.
I have to admit, there are some evenings when I am cuddling with my wife, over a glass of wine in front of the fireplace and I just have to fondle my own chest. /sarcasm
I don't always take names when I kick ass but when I do, they most often belong to a Wolverine.
@pam
yeah, i get that. not sure what her looks have to do with this argument is my point. dont see the need to say "shes not ugly, shes just not that good looking:
Ferns struck me as a Andrew Sweat reboot. I'm tired of B1G titles, I'm trying to get me some Raekwon up in this piece, I'm trying to win me some nashional champenchips
@Irricoir - I know we don't see eye to eye a lot, but I literally spit up some coffee on my desk as I read that.
Well Pam, if its any consolation, men over at ESPN don't need to know much about CFB to be employed either so at least there is even footing in that sense.
4-6 seconds from point A to point B and when you get to point B, be pissed off
Irricoir - Go on...
irricoir please don't go on, please..!!

I was not sure how that would be received. I am glad you all took it as intended!
I don't always take names when I kick ass but when I do, they most often belong to a Wolverine.
this is just a case of alex doing what he always does (keeping it real). Unfortunately, we are guys and we judge every girl within the first couple seconds of meeting. But to all the ladies on here dont act like we are the only ones. Ive been told you guys as well know within the first 5-15 minutes if the guy will be "gettin it in". If anything this should just further accentuate alex's recruiting prowess...btw im not sure if accentuate is the correct word there
mark may wins douchebag of the year... again
@blazers34
I was agreeing with you. Her looks have nothing to do with anything, but unfortunately women are judged on their looks just as much as their accomplishments.
Who could even talk about how women are perceived in the worplace when Irricoir has dropped this bomb on the interwebs. For the first time ever I have been forced to picture a man rubbing his own chest...And it has consumed my every thought since. I'm so ashamed of how I feel & yet slightly invigorated. Strange.
The above words are jokes...I think.

side note --- if you had to pick 2, just 2 --- who would be the first 2 female sports reporters you'd "squire about town" ?
EA is an obvious fan favorite, here are some suggestions off the top of my head; I'm sure I left some off ...
Erin Andrews (Fox Sports)
Alex Flanagan (NBC/NFL Network)
Niki Noto (ESPNU)
Molly Querim (CBS Sports Network)
Sara Carbonero (Telecinco, it's Spanish TV)
Michelle Beadle (NBC)
LeAnn Tweeden (Fox Sports West)
Jenn Brown (ESPN)
Melissa Stark (ESPN/ABC, circa late 90s)
"You win with people." - Woody Hayes
This came to mind from Irricoir's comment..... Not sure why..... my mind is scarred....
^Holy Missing Link!!!

@bucks43201.... that almost deserves its on thread... i dont know most of who you listed, 1 of the 2 would have to be beadle her attitude is freaking awesome!! i use to watch sportsnation bcuz of her... as for 2 id have to go with the chick from spanish tv just because they only let REALLY hot girls get on the network... i never use caps i needed some emphasis
mark may wins douchebag of the year... again
@ SIR --- yes, I should just make it a thread. You're right -- those two are hotties. Here's Sara Carbonero:
"You win with people." - Woody Hayes
lol im tellin you those ppl in charge of the mexican channels know how to get ratings!

Well done. You got might mind off of football. I just got hit by the Carbonero arrow.

FYI: Michelle Beadle left ESPN for NBC recently
thank you
"You win with people." - Woody Hayes
Pam's head is going to explode when she reads down past her last comment.
When told OSU set school record for 50+ games this year, UFM said "That's good. We're gonna break that next year."
I'm not sure she would qualify as a "sports reporter" but she does some reporting on manly things such as cars and racing....I present....
Courtney Hansen
I would learn Spanish for Sara Carbonero and Wookie for the dude in Dubjay's photo!

"You win with people." - Woody Hayes
oops, I didn't ever see her previous post...sorry, Pam --- I think of it has qualified, talented women, who just happen to be beautiul
"You win with people." - Woody Hayes
There's nothing wrong with women in the sports world who happen to be attractive, but when that's all they bring to the table, then their only purpose is to appeal to the lowest common denominator.
It's difficult to criticize fellow women without sounding catty, when really all I'm saying is, "Don't pander. Be better than that."
so, from a womens point of view, who does the best job? looks aside..... i always thought it had to be jemele hill bcuz lets face it she has a face for radio lol
mark may wins douchebag of the year... again
Sarah - I get what you are saying. Until I met my wife, intelligence never seemed to be an important quality when I was looking for a companion. Like you said, when all they bring is looks to the table, it gets old real fast. It reminds me of an old poster I saw in a shop when I was young, "Yeah she's hot now, but some man, some where is tired of putting up with her..." Well, I am sure you guys have seen it. You can most assuredly interchange sexes into that phrase. I have to admit, I don't mind being the lowest common denominator sometimes!
I don't always take names when I kick ass but when I do, they most often belong to a Wolverine.
Dana O'Neil does good work. I think sideline reporting is a mostly thankless job, but when Charissa Thompson was with BTN, she didn't strike me as vacuous. I guess she's with ESPN now, but I haven't seen whatever she does there. As far as I know, she's not tweeting pictures of herself in a bikini or anything, at least.
Please, no one start posting pictures of her, though. Google that stuff if you want to.
I really like Linda Cohn at ESPN. She is 52 so I think of her as the anti-Erin Andrews. Very knowledgeable and funny and yeah, she is very attractive.
I like Linda too. She gets extra props for coming up into that industry when it was very Ron Burgundy dominated and managing to survive, much less thrive. And for being funny. She guest hosts one of the ESPN radio shows from time to time and is always hilarious.
When told OSU set school record for 50+ games this year, UFM said "That's good. We're gonna break that next year."

What happen to my post topic lol??? I don't mind the fact that 11w post topics take on a life of there own I find it entertaining.
Hardly home but always reppin
I like Linda Cohn, too (although not her network). She does excellent work and is an attractive 52. Some of the outfits they pick out for her to wear on air, though, are puzzling.
I'd like to visit "Cohney" Island...Linda Cohn is 52!? wow - she looks great. I bet she's had some work done, but she looks strong
"You win with people." - Woody Hayes
My wife drives me crazy over this topic. My wife gets pissed when she sees EA or some other "sideline bimbo" and she says nasty things, like, "she only got his job cuz she looks good in a bikini or blew the right guy." Yet when someone like Holly Rowe comes on TV my wife says, "why would they put someone that ugly on TV." It drives me crazy.
“Any time you give a man something he doesn't earn, you cheapen him. Our kids earn what they get, and that includes respect.” - Woody
see thats where me and your wife differ bucksfanxc... i always thought it was the ugly ones like the jemele hills who blew someone to get on tv... where as, the ea's sara carbonero's they get everything handed to them
mark may wins douchebag of the year... again
does sarahmhughes even represent a recruiting service?
Eh, I am a woman and don't really care what they look like. If they have substance.
Us girls have our eye candy too. (Brian Williams) ;-)
Sarah Hughes doesn't represent anything other than herself and her Michigan fandom. Not even sure she's Michigan grad. She's a fangirl posing as a recruiting reporter.
She has nothing on Genestarwind! :):)
