Boy that's a harsh headline. They peed on a daycare. That daycare really tied the room together....
Pretty soon the story will read that they hated children & peed on the daycare as a way to demonstrate their suppressed hatred for children all things related to children such as happiness & puppies. Whatever sells papers I guess...
The world is full of kings & queens who'll blind your eyes & steal your dreams - it's heaven & hell - Ronnie James Dio.
This story has it all : peeing on daycares, ditching girlfriends, fleeing to the woods and getting covered in mud, cops breaking thumbs, jailhouse videos. What's next?
One one hand, it bothers me that this video has been released. On the other hand, at least Mewhort had the wherewithal to decide to call Meyer first, and to tell him the truth. I am disappointed in Stoneburner's reaction, especially since he was/is in the running for a captain's position. But then again, I am not sure what I would have done at 21 given the situation. I would hope that I would be smarter, but hard to tell. That being said, the whole thing is stupid on so many levels. No one wins in this one, all parties look like doofuses.
I believe this has a lot to do with character. When you make a mistake, you own up to it. You don't make up stories to try to protect yourself. I have less respect for Stoney for the way that he handled the situation. A leader is someone that you can trust and respect. As I stated before, OSU football is life in a fish bowl. Also, quit trying to blame the police for doing their job. If you are so good at it, please put in your application.
Things were slow at the office so to speak and the cops were looking for some kind of violators. They saw these "suspicious" looking three young guys? What group isn't suspicious looking at 2 am, especially the size of these fellas? The thought of a Barney Fife type watching my every move in hope that I make some kind of mistake pisses me off to no end. I know alot of law enforcement folks that definitely do not walk a super straight line consistently that could be "suspicious" at times as well. Doesn't mean they are not great people, just as these boys are, just means none of us are perfect and this just seems so unnecessary. Not dissing law dogs in any way. Appreciate what they do for us. Just don't want a cop looking for a violator to following anyone breathing, waiting for them to do something wrong is all, which it seems may have been the case here.
@Jugdish & CAPN - I agree completely. They were breaking the law, however trivial it may be, and got in trouble. The police did their jobs and are not the ones at fault here.
The boys ought to be glad they got caught in Ohio and not California.Out here they would have to register as a sex offender if cought urinating in public.
@ AHHSATURDAY.... dont worry i do that all the time. Make many great points but include one curious statement like "not a day goes by that someone doesnt piss on it." the next 10 comments will be poking fun at you and completely lose sight of what u were talking about. I was LMAO more at "the daycare will smell like piss now" than I was at your comment.
HighBallAce - Agreed, there is no reason to talk down to anyone unless you are giving them a pass on an offense and just getting a butt chewing. In todays time, people expect to be let go for speeding and to receive no butt chewing too. Easier to just write the ticket, present it for signature and tell them to move on without even saying, "Have a nice day." Some accept that courtesy for what it is and some complain at the gesture. I caution people reciting tales from another's experience. If it isn't your own, don't bother. Folks are just as quick to form opinions about people in general based off another's experience and that is equally irresponsible. If your speaking from a personal experience, don't speed and you'll have nothing to worry about. Hope this helps.
I don't always take names when I kick ass but when I do, they most often belong to a Wolverine.
I dont think Urban is really that upset with the fact they pissed on a building...itd be more about running from the police...IF he did suspend them for a game, I wouldn't be that upset about it because itd clearly be just setting a precedent. This is one of the funnier 'run in's with the law' that osu players have had in a long time.
Sheriff Martin is a good man! I know him personally! I went to school with his son as well. I've seen him walk in to a riot without a gun and calm an entire crowd down just by talking. Thats the norm for him! When my dad passed away, I asked the Sheriff of Delaware Co. at the time, who grew up with my dad to please be the escort for my father and he refused cause it just didn't pay enough. Russ did it for free.
My wife and I left the spaghetti warehouse and turned right onto Broad St. Then I went to High St. and made a right. No right turn except after...The police stopped me. I showed him my DL and POI and I told him it was totally my fault. He gave a warning rather than the $120 fine.
Police are no different than most people on this site. Be respectful and don't BS. The police, firemen, teachers, and other state employees have families and friends just like all of us.
I have never been a policeman or fireman and I wouldn't want to be. I don't think I could go into a burning building and save a sorry ass like schooey or rjenkins. Nor could I pull a weapon and shoot someone. I am thankful for all those people who have the courage to put on that badge each day. I appreciate the thick skin they have to endure the insults that are directed toward them.
I'd like to know in which industries all these authority haters work. Just because there is police corruption doesn't mean it's the norm. Find me an industry with no corrupt exceptions.
Most of my personal experiences with the cops have been either bad or the cops were not impressive at all. Count me in the group that believes most are corrupt / dirty.
Great comments Jugdish and Buck-I.8. Folks can't believe every Alabama fan is a tree hating sex offender or that every Buckeye fan is a child killing, pedophile just because other fans in the fan base fit that mold. Same goes for every profession in America. There is going to be rotten fruit in every basket but what these people do and sacrifice should mean more to folks than the petty tickets they receive or the butt chewing for ultimately being wrong in the first place. I have the same speech with my brother whom can't slow down. He ultimately feels it is a personal attack on him instead of looking deeper and becoming more accountable.

@Mastermind - thanks for noticing. Glad to see someone got a kick out of it. This thread has gotten pretty serious...I'm surprised more of us aren't laughing about this whole thing...what else can you really do??

I ran into Mewhort one time at a house party at like 3am when it had died down and people were just finishing the beer in the kitchen, and he was complaining about how he was on course to fail Psychology 100 because he scheduled all of those damn experiment sessions for one day and did show up to any of them. He said his GPA for the quarter was like a 1.7.
So yeah, this action doesn't surprise me. I've never met Stoneburner on campus, but from what I've heard, he isn't the sharpest tool in the shed.
“we thought (you) were our girlfriends, and we took off running in order to ditch them.”
"Mewhort came out of the woods covered in mud." God this story is so stupid. So they didn't even see them urinating? They "Appeared to be urinating."

Who uses police search dogs to find someone suspected of pissing on a building?
Someone taught them well: when you've been arrested, do not talk to the police. No good comes out of it.

I just want to understand this, sir. Every time a daycare center is micturated upon in this fair city, I am required to read a gray box of death?
@ 741
Yes. This is Ohio State. Where the slightest "fisheye" look at someone is considered a violation. /sarcasm

"Not a day goes by that someone doesn't piss on it."
This is my favorite sentence to have appeared on this site, ever.
Alley pissing. So satisfying.
I know there's a game saturday, and my ass will be there.

@ Shady,
Not worried one bit. If you find my comment curious, it's because you don't live in Chicago.

I don't see what the big deal is with this, but I do sorta wonder how "pissed" Urban is about it.
Wicked pissah!

So will you get a ticket if you're walking your dog and your dog, heaven forbid, pisses on the day care building?

Interesting choice of comments to keep. Why did you just not erase the entire thread?
