Shelton Gibson Highlights [SPEED KILLS!!!!]

Shelton Gibson's announcement is coming up on June 20 and everyone talks about how fast the kid is but I hadn't seen extensive film on him until today. I had seen the promo from his JR year that ScoutingOhio has out but that really didn't show too much, which is why I was really glad to find his Hudl profile. Glad to finally be able to see more of him. A few thoughts:

  • He's definitely fast, based both on his track times and how he does in the open field, but it looks like he could even go another gear faster with some body control. Interesting criticism for a track star type, but he seems to flail a little when he runs, and that usually slows you down in a sprint.
  • Otherwise, I wish he would've been able to camp more, I'd like to see him catch more varied pass types, but with how early he got the offer, Urban and co. clearly like what they see. 
  • I won't put him in the class until its official, but should he sign, I'd like to see Mickey put some weight on this kid. He's pretty thin, which isn't surprising for a high school junior, but he seems to go down pretty easily in open field, and if he was a little bigger with similar speed, he could blow through arm tackles easily.
