OSU in top 3 for 2014 RB Donte Williams
Donte Williams is taking it all in.
The tailback from Durham (N.C.) Hillside has scholarship offers from Clemson, North Carolina State, South Carolina, Vanderbilt, Ohio State, Syracuse and Minnesota. He said three schools stand out among the pack.
“I would have to say Ohio State, Florida and Clemson,” Williams said. “It's just exciting. Very exciting. Once you get that first one, you're like, 'Where is the next one coming from?' Then, They just keep coming. It's big excitement.”
Top 2014 WR hopes for Ohio State offer
One of the more highly regarded receivers in the Midwest in the 2014 class, Dominique Booth (Indianapolis/Pike) will make it to Ohio State this weekend.
Already with 11 offers, Booth, who camped at Michigan on Wednesday, is hoping the Buckeyes can make it an even dozen.
“I've been talking to the coach [assistant Kerry Coombs] for a while, he was heavily recruiting me when he was at Cincinnati and they still are at Ohio State,” Booth told WolverineNation’s Chantel Jennings. “They say they need what I do in the offense. And I'm excited to go camp there, because I like the offense they run. I'm hoping for an offer, that'd be exciting."

Seems to me Anzalone is a no
@GENE - Tried to post this on the 6/19 bits, but looks like that forum's locked:
Just curious if you share this sentiment, or if this is gleaned from other experts?
Let's just pass on Anzalone, too much baggage there. Heck, he couldn't even take the time to visit OSU when he drove right through C-Bus last week!
"Attack the Strong, Trample the Weak, Hurdle the Dead!"
-Former OSU S&C Coach Lichter
@703 - To be fair, he did mention that he might not make Columbus, because he had to leave really early to have any reasonable amount of time to spend at OSU. I'm not holding out a lot of hope, but let's see how this all shakes out. If he comes back, awesome. If not, next man in!
Quite the list of quarterbacks that will be camping.. Hopefully between Barker, Crest, Kizer, and Henderson one can distance themself from the pack and earn the commitable offer.
The part about winding up at Bama Hodge? Experts, everything is shared from experts. My opinions are usually read in italics to make things easier for people.
@GENE - Yessir, wondering if the 'Bama prediction was yours or not, thanks! What are your thoughts on him?
So far, at least in my opinion, the only schools Foster's been publically adament about are Pitt and OSU. The Bama prediction is probably just experts picking the school who's had the most sucess recruiting in the past few years.
I really like our shot with Foster. I honestly think if Urban wants him, we'll be in it all the way and have as good a chance as anyone. Give me two out of Foster, Gibson and Quick to add to Marshall and call it a day.
Also interesting to note that David Williams says we're still hard after him. Combined that with the fact that he's visiting for FNL could be telling that it's not Green or nothing as far as runningbacks are concerned. I really like Williams tape and think he could do very very well in our offense.
What did I tell you. Anzalone is a drama queen and a cock tease. I wish we would stop giving him all this attention and move on to recruits who are actually interested.
"if irony were made of strawberries, we' d all be drinking a lot of smoothies right now."
Hodge & Hayze - Everything I have read/heard on Foster is that IF he goes to school outside of the midwest, it will be to Alabama. I have posted this before but the 'experts' claim that Saban and co. are recruiting him hard and trying to sell him on being the 'next Julio Jones'.
How come we never hear from Marquez North?
I'm really tired of this pre-madonna Anzalone sh*t. The kid keeps saying "OSU is still in there." Bullsh*t. He's not coming here. He knows it. We know it. Everyone else should know it. Let's move on and focus our time on other targets. Sure the kid is a heckuva talent, but this is one fan that is tired of all the head-games & drama. LET. IT. GO already. MOVE ON!
@Hodge - My thoughts on Foster... not much to really say about the guy. I think it's going to be between Bama and Ohio State with Pitt as a dark horse to land him.
Clifton Garret makes it so much easier to lose Anzalone and Smith. 14' LB class is looking stacked, it seems urban is already turning the jets up for the 14' classs to be his finest at OSU.
So, I don't put a ton of stock in tweets from recruits nor do I generally read too much into them but FWIW I was looking at Clifton Garrett's twitter tonight and saw he had some correspondence with Ethan Pocic (former OSU target and LSU commit who like Garrett is from Illinois). Garrett said something to him about "putting him on down in the South" perhaps meaning to spread the word about him in the South. Then Pocic replies by saying "your tape is nasty bro, keep it up and the SEC will come around".
It would seem a little early to be counting our 2014 chickens before they're even juniors in high school... I know we feel bad about Anzalone and Smith, but let's rationalize some way other than already declaring "locks" for 2014.
Michigan got commit # 22.
Man that scUM class is almost done and it's not even July. Gotta think they land Treadwell and one other player and that's it.
I lurk on mgoblog, and they seem to think 25 is the magic number. Sounds like they want another running back, and at least one more wide receiver.
Added a whole bunch of links and a few articles, should be all for today
what "Scarlet_Buckeye" said
"You win with people." - Woody Hayes
who is the new offer?
To comment on the '14 class, I have to agree with what has been said so far, I think Meyer and the staff will land the top class in the country...especially after the potential/likely (biased hope) success this season and a very solid chance at a national title in '13... not saying OSU will be exactly the same as Florida in regards to the time frame that Meyer had national success both on the field and on the recruiting trail, but very similar
It's funny you think it's probable (I'd say possible but not likely)that we land the top class in 2014 AND win the NC in 2013. Those are both two very difficult things to do that also hinge largely on luck.
