Two things. The UCF line is insanely high and why does the Ohio State vs Miami (OH) game say it is being played August 30th? Is it being moved?

I like that Miami line...first game as head coach, statement will be made I think.

Derp. Sorry dudes. I read this thing way wrong.

Purdue is interesting. They always seem to play us tough under Coach Wannstache Lite, but mainly that is in W. Laf.

I think this could be the year for some payback though, and OSU could blow it open. So early to predict though.

Indiana is going to be a MONSTER this year, +21 seems fair!

I'm looking at those spreads. How are we +6 against PSU and +21 against Indiana? The moneyline's aren't listed either so there's that. When betting I just parlay three or four moneyline's together. You still get pretty good odds and it's much easier to predict/rely upon  than betting against the spread.

Edit: Wow I misread those spreads. Favored by 21 at Indiana and favored by 6 at PSU. Never mind.

Not bad, favored in all but the Mich st and Wisky games

Also does anyone really think we'd cover that UAB spread? I mean I get that Meyer scores points, and a lot at that. I'm just not used to seeing OSU obliterate people minus the EMU game and a Northwestern game here and there. Still -38 is a lot to cover.

UAB was a bad.....bad team last year...i believe they were one of the bottom 5 teams in Division I FBS so it kind of makes sense

*correction might be off on that but i thought that was something i read last year

Edit

Screwed up my own edit. To clarify, the spread is listed by the home team, hence the +21 next to Indiana, indicating that Indiana is a 21 point underdog. Now lets all go have a drink.

haha...the +/- is referring to the team it is directly listed by so we are only not favored in games against wisconsin and mich st.

Yeah, Brewster you and I misread it in the same manner. Still don't think we cover against UAB or Illinois for that matter.

HAHAHA nor me. They'll beat UAB with ease but even at the collegiate level 37 is a lot. Plus whenever OSU plays Illinois, the game is either a Buckeye massacre or some stupid low scoring affair that forces fans to question their love for college football all together.

Sorry that's the way it was written. I should have edited this to make it less confusing. I think everyone understands now. I also have a bonus spread Alabama is -13.5 vs Michigan. That's high, but I still like Bama to cover. Any thoughts? I just can't talk about 16 year old kids choosing schools anymore, I want to break down some football games.

The UAB spread is ridiculous, and the Illinois spread won't be attained.

Just for clarification
If OSU is the home team:
A negative spread means we are favored.
A positive spread means we are underdogs.
If OSU is the away team:
A negative spread means we are underdogs.
A positive spread means we are favored.

agreed on Illinois, William ... UAB looks ridiculous, but - going back the past 7 seasons --- OSU has won at least one game a season by 41 points or more. If they're going to continue that streak, I'd say UAB is definitely the team to play. UAB will be one of the 5-10 worst teams in the country this season. The only thing is: this could be a "look ahead" game, sandwiched between the big OOC game against Cal & before the road B1G opener against Sparty. However, I think this is the game where we will see the offense really start to gel & OSU will win something like 48-6.

UAB is an abomination of a college football program.  Last winning record was in '04, and they are a combined 26-57 since that time.  That line is definitely reasonable based on the past few years, and what people are expecting of an Urban/Braxton offense at Ohio State.

I agree the Illinois line is ridiculous.  Scheelhaase is still there and is getting better.  Illinois ALWAYS plays OSU tough (unless they are having one of their "Zooker" seasons and go 2-10).  Beckman will have them up for OSU.

The most interesting line is the UCF game.  O'Leary has helped turn UCF into a pretty decent program, and they normally compete pretty well with the big boys.  They have a young but experienced dual-threat QB back as well.  I read somebody (Athlon?) has them ranked preseason top-20.  Don't sleep on the Golden Knights.

Agree about UCF.  They've got a tough DL that will test our inexperienced OL early in the season.
