I have all the trust in Mr Myer, but for some reason I feel a since of urgency. I want top nouch recruits to commit but for some reason we have not been snagging them lately. Yes you can complain about my post but lest be honest some recruits we thought were locks went else where and some recruits we thought we had a legit shot on have lost interest in us. Ex Alex Alzone and Pocic also don't forget about a little brother called Smith. Just my thoughts anybody else looking for another commit?????

Please go back to school. It's hard to take you seriously with all the mistakes in that post. You average a spelling mistake almost every nine words.
It's been stated many times. The more kids you offer, the more you will miss on and Urbz has offered around 100 kids, which means we will miss on 80. If you want quantity go jump on the UM band wagon. Quality wise (star rating avg) we have the best class in the country and over half our class full before June. That's pretty damn good
Sorry Urban, Woody is still my favorite
Agreed^
@Triv
We're actually 2nd or 3rd behind USC and maybe Bama... but still pretty darn good lol
Favorite Buckeye: Obviously BJ Mullens
Meyer urgency commit(x3) notch lately elsewhere interest Anzalone*************
It is kind of dead period in recruiting. Not many visits since the spring game. People need to chill. Camp season is here. We will get our fair share.
Ah that might've been big ten ratings I saw, but we stil have a pretty damn good class
Sorry Urban, Woody is still my favorite

Recruiting is becoming ridiculous. Ten years ago, nobody paid this much attention, and for good reason. With the advent of the paywalled recruiting site, it's now an obsession.
Not one to really care for the star ranking system as I think our coaches can evaluate players better than 'scouting experts', but OSU's class, according to 247sports, averages a a 93 ranking per player...higher than Alabama, well higher than Michigan's class, and 2nd only to USC (kind of expected with the talent they are reeling in)...there are some really high quality players out there and I imagine Meyer landing a handfull of top prospects (Gibson, Quick, probably Foster at the WR, and then you have players like Vonn Bell who could be a Buckeye-lean after camp)...it is still June, watch for a few of these guys who have committed elsewhere to change their commitments, maybe not to OSU, but change is inevitable...OSU will be a top 5 class filled with some absolute studs, as is the way with Sir. Urban Meyer.
@ Triv
Ya we def don't have the best star rating per recruit in the nation so please don't talk out of your ass. And please don't be ignorant with statements such as " jump on the UM bandwagon", like it or not UM utterly kicking our ass right now in recruiting. With that said I do trust Urb and the OSU staff its just frustrating sometimes.
@Urbzrenewal
HAHA I promise I have a much higher and elite education than you. Ever heard of a J.D.?? Probably not.
GO BUCKS!!!

I would fire my attorney immediately if he ever composed anything close to the horrendous abuse of English you just created...that said, glad you are so successful in an elite industry...as for recruiting it is only June 9. Relax, UM isn't kicking our butt, their game is almost over, with 21 committs. We will be in the game longer and best them in the end, just like last year.
Remington, I was going to stay out this until you commented:
Michigan has, what, twice as many verbals as Ohio State does at this point, but it's only June for freakin' sake. Barring defections, Michigan is pretty close to maxed out for their 2013 class, whereas Urbz will be more actively recruiting for the entire recruiting period. Let's wait until Feb. 2013 to make guesses concerning the relative merits of Ohio State's and Michigan's classes.
When Michigan hits their limit and Urbz is still landing bluechippers, what are you going say then? "Ohio State utterly kicking UM's ass right now . . ."?
Also, if you do have a J.D., I can only assume that you write as if you're illiterate because you're trying to be hip, "keepin' it real," and so forth. Of course, you'll respond, "it's just internet chat. I'm not writing an article for a law journal." Yet, someone who has a J.D. would have to go out of his way to write like a 16 year kid, which would be kinda pathetic, don't you think?
Darron Lee will get an offer. BOOK IT!!!

Haha folks its all fun and games on here. Was just blurting out some drunken opinions of mine. Anyways, meant no harm go bucks!
You weren't drunk. You were just being a douche.

Man football needs to start soon...a lot short fuses around here.
Not talking out of my ass, I said best corrected myself by saying best in the big ten, and then was told we were number 2 or 3. So before you talk to me about talking out of my ass, make sure I really was.
And I had a friend named JD once, does that count?:)
Sorry Urban, Woody is still my favorite
I feel like alot of Buckeye fans feel this sense of ergency but it mainly is because the fact that UM is putting up a monster class. We still have a long time to fill these spots plus the class is pretty good as it is. Not worried.
Urgency. It's urgency. Jesus.
Sorry, include me amongst the short fuse crew.
I wish 11W had a filter which prevented any thread that started with, "I trust Urban, but.."
"You're pissed because we went after a committed guy? Guess what, we got 9 guys who better go do it again," said Meyer. "Do it a little harder next time."
for you recruitniks:
the 2003 OSU recruiting class, a year after going 14-0 and winning a stunning BCS NC Game
http://ohiostate.scout.com/a.z?s=145&p=9&c=8&yr=2003
looks like we actually hit on 6 out of the 15 recruits, check out the commit dates.....we had 4 before the season started
2004 I count us going 14 hits out of 26 commits with 9 commits before the season started (8 if you want to erase Joe Bauserman from your memory)
http://ohiostate.scout.com/a.z?s=145&p=9&c=8&yr=2004
It's probably worth noting that recruiting projections are not highly accurate (most kids flop due to nonathletic reasons though, e.g. personal integrity/commitment, injuries, hanging around the wrong crowd, etc.).
It's not important to have the best class or to have the highest rating, in fact it's pretty silly and stupid to brag about such a thing. Games are won on the football field, so it's much smarter to look at recruiting and judge being within the margin of error with the other top programs. Schools have different needs and class sizes, and some schools are looking for the "under the radar" freak athlete that didn't earn a high star rating or "play against the best competition." For example, ND signed a kid last year, Chris Brown (great name huh?), and while he was only a three star, he has something like the national best triple jump length, high jumped 7'+, and had a sizzling 100m time....but he wasn't a four/five-star guy because he missed the majority of his senior season with an injury. That happens all of the time.
So, calm down and enjou the ride. Urban will get his (although I am legitimately concerned about the OL recruiting, Michigan and Notre Dame snagged up a ton of talent from across the country).
Right now I'd say these are the premier classes, to judge one from the other is just silly, they're all within the MOE:
Michigan
Alabama
Florida
Texas
Notre Dame
Ohio State
Southern Cal
Georgia
Everybody else is a notch below.
what is wrong with you people, just please look at our current commitments if u are worried about the future of OSU football. Jalin Marshall, BOSA!, Burroughs, Eli Woodard, Evan Lisle, Zeke, Baugh, Barrett, Thompson, Price and Sprinkle. Just imagine those guys in the S&G jerseys and u should calm down. The moment Vonn Bell committs you guys are gunna feel really stupid. If that doesnt work then can I just add 2 more words: Noah Spence!
Y'all need to fergive 'Lil Rimington. He received his elete, high ejcation at an SEC school. Peoples tawk dif'rint down 'nere.
"Get him a body bag, Yeah!"
I mean, since we're on the internet and I can say anything I want, I have 8 law degrees and 3 PhDs.
@Cinserious
Thanks for clearing things up for me. I thought everybody talked like that, guess its just below the mason dixon. By the way don't put your jelousey of the SEC on my shoulders. They are pretty good a f-ball.
I don't believe Cinserious was talking SEC football more SEC education, where, of the 14 schools, 5 deserve to be known as places of "higher education" (UGA, Vandy, Florida, Missouri, and TAMU)...anyways, this isnt a website for people who want to have some sort of personal peeing contest, we are all on the same team here...back to the topic please where I agree with Shady, the guys we have in this class as of right now, can't get much better, and also agree on the fact we forget the studs we have coming in...we are juuuuuust fine
You know what...Ive responded to these type of threads far too many times with the same sarcastic response, so instead I will just leave.
"if irony were made of strawberries, we' d all be drinking a lot of smoothies right now."
yeah, don't start any peeing contests on here and then run for a parking lot! You will get busted and then suspended indefinitely!
Said it before and will keep saying it, much rather have a recruit who fits the system and is passionate about playing for OSU than a 5 star who is looking for the path to the NFL and won't put in the effort. A 3 star player can become an All American talent with the right coach. It has happened, so I agree that I much rather have Urban see what these kids can do on the field in camp than look at a recruiting site and just go after who they think is the best.
@Remington2323-What Law School did you go to that put up with your spelling errors? Would like to hear more about your "elite education" or is that you just blogging while intoxicated??
Thad's old neaws bro. Sit downn maik a scotch, maybee smoke a lil grene and just relaax.

Agreed.
Does anyone here refer to our team as "o-state"? Troll? Pre-teen?
D. Anthony
Does anyone care? Preteen or teens!
LOL @ O-state!! Thats what teenage recruits that arent from Ohio say.
Run_Fido's favorite word is strawman.
I think that I've asked a fair question Remington2323? What Law School did you go to? Please enlighten us with your stories of " elite education".
This is why I don't pay much attention to recruiting. As long as we're near the top and getting good talent, I'm not worried about it. TSUN is not kicking our asses in recruiting. They're filling their classes early - more time for defections, plus less chances to pick up new recruits who had monster senior seasons and have raised their stock. It's not about what players did in high school - it's about what they do in college, and what our coaches can get out of these players. Tressel got a lot out of some 3* guys, and there's no reason to believe that Urban can't do the same. Some of TSUN's great recruits could be total flops, too. This is why I don't worry too much about recruiting.
Class of 2010.
