Just texted me saying he is trying his best to make it to Columbus on his way back from Notre Dame on Friday. Doesn't want to go if he can't spend a lot of time at OSU, so they are going to try and leave no later than 9 AM to make it with plenty of time to talk to the staff.
EDIT: Anzalone will NOT be visiting Ohio State today

Just curious, who are "they?" I think it's crucial to get the whole family to Columbus.
I remember sitting at my computer fist-pumping and blurting out "yeah!" when I saw the gray box that Anzalone committed lol. Marshall, Burroughs and Bosa are my favorite commits so far but I didnt do that with any other recruit. My personal feeling is he's not interested in us at all anymore and is just doing this so he doesnt piss off a large fan base. Alex do u feel his interest is genuine??
Do we have a realistic shot?? This was/is such a strange recruitment
Sorry yes, his family is they....you can think he's not interested in us but he really is, I promise you guys...and the Bucks are recruiting him very hard
Well I hope he realizes again what he did the first time, that Columbus is the place he wants to be and decides to recommit
If he actually visits then that confirms that he is genuinely interested and that all of his stated interest in not just lip service to slow the tide of bashing him and his family...
I hope we can re-land him. He is impressive.
Hopefully this is to get his parents on board to say ok u can come here
Just hope all the rejects that call them Buckeye fan's (the famous 10%) leave him and his family alone. If he ends up here...awesome if not good luck to him....I have nothing against the young man.
I don't think he ends up here and there is no reason to speculate why because we really don't know beyond, the obvious situation that caused the de-commit.
Alex and staff, do you have any stats on players who commit and de-commit but then re-commit. How often do players that de-commit actually re-commit to the same university?
Don't get me wrong, I want Anzalone and I think that Bosa has stayed true may be a wild card in his recruitment. I do feel like we are in a little bit of a rut (NOT WORRIED!) as far as recruiting goes and apparently, Ezekiel Elliot has been talking with Notre Dame (according to BNuts).
In my opinion, recruiting has a lot to do with momentum and if Anzalone re-committed it would hlep change that in our direction. In addition to Anzalone being an excellent talent and recruit, I think his recruitment is even more important in the overall momentum for this class.
I sure hope he carves out some time to visit Friday and reaffirms his original feelings about Columbus, the team, and Coach Meyer.
I'd like to see him commit as well, however, I don't think he will... Not necessarily because he doesn't want to, but more because of stupid comments our fans used to attack his family. I think his family will have more say in the decision this time, and it won't be OSU. I hope I'm wrong.
Shockingly, I think PSU and ND are his Top 2. BTW, PSU is still adding pretty decent recruits. Right on OSU coattails in BIG 10.
I don't even want anything to do with Alex anymore.

Wow... Anzalone won't be at OSU today. Unless he reschedules, we can count this one out. His dad is a dick and an idiot, and he's the real reason Alex decommited to OSU.
Moving on.

Here's thoughts from our old friend..
He is probably a really good kid.
I think he wants to go where Mike Huerman went (bash brothers or whatever) and I don't think anyone can fault him for that.
Also, ND has a good undergrad business school, but it's not an up and coming MBA program by any means, which fisher is by leaps and bounds.
-Go Bucks!
So is it official that he is not in Columbus today? Not sure how to interpret the tweet posted above.
Man am I tired of hearing about this kid. I know, I don't have to read the stories, but I think this kid has been the topic of conversation on this site more than any recruit in recent memory. He's a 17 year old kid, yet there are people on here bowing before him as if he were a combination of Spielman, Cousineau and Hawk... when they were seniors. Let it go. Let him and his screw ball father go to ND, or FLA, or where ever. Best of luck to the kid, but good riddance as far as I'm concerned.
that sucks.... I really dont get why kids are goin to nd over tosu. It must be because of their multiple championships in the 2000s or their beetface coach being so patient while they develop.
mark may wins douchebag of the year... again
Thank God. Maybe this means we can not hear about the Anzalone decommitment and drama any more.
I hope this one is finally over, had grown tired of this whole ordeal. Since he drove right through Columbus, I loved to hear his reason for not stopping in. On to the next one!
Who cares about him? We don't even need anymore LBs right now considering the talent we have now and what we may be getting next year... We'll still have Grant and Shazier for one or 2 more years, then all the the guys we have coming in this year.. I like what we have. Let's just forget about this guy already and move on!
I still can't help but wonder what would have been and what really happened.. I was reading over the old articles that Alex did here and it just doesn't seem right.. Here's one that goes directly against his statement that this was a commitment based on emotion.
It's going to be talked about for a long time to come because of his talent and because of the circumstances surrounding his commitment/decommitment, so I think you guys that are tired of it may just have to start tuning it out. I wish him luck at ND (where he will likely go), but it's really disappointing that this recruitment broke down. Regardless of those of you saying good riddance, this is a guy that we really wanted- him leaving doesn't change that.
Id like to say I told you guys so earlier but no one listened. What he said was very disingenuous and he didnt seem to really want to visit. He knows what his dad did was unpopular and he is embarassed and ashamed by how his dad acted. He'll probably commit to UF or ND.
