Illinois....was offered by old staff, but new staff never came through with an offer and I guess he found out they didn't plan on it after he camped a few weeks ago. I think if OSU ever decided they wanted in Day would be a Buckeye, but he never got the Wolverine and Buckeye offers he claimed to have (but didn't) according to some reports or at the very least, greatly wanted.

wonder if this will come back to bite us
Beckman is doing work in Ohio. If he could learn to lock down his home state, the Illini can be a top 4 program in the B1G in a few years.
Day was a Buckeye lock with the old staff....I will trust Meyer but I think he has potential to be a good player...heard there were some non-football related things to be worked out a while back but not sure on that situation now
A great pick up for the Illini. I wish him well but would like him better in S and G.
He was also probably a lock without the recruiting restrictions. Didn't we already say we were only gonna take two CBs? Well we got those two with Burrows and Woodard. I'm sure if a can't-say-know-type-of-guy like Fuller or Alexander were to want to commit we'd take them but obviously Day isn't up that high.
Also Alex, a bit OT, but I've been reading about a 2014 guy named Laurence Jones from Louisiana, whose a highly touted CB/S. Supposedly he was a OSU fan growing up and is a huge Urban fan. He already has offers from Alabama, LSU and Texas. What have your heard?
Haven't heard much Hayze, but I'll see what I can find
Beckman needs to lock down Illinois. Turner never did it, Zooker hardly did it. Illinois isn't a football powerhouse but it produces some pretty good players. Per Scout, since 2002, the top player in Illinois has gone out of state every year save for 2007. In addition to the top player in the state, some really really good names have left Illinois for other schools. Iowa has virtually built itself up on the backs of Illinois high school football. Zook had some connections to the DC area and Florida but never locked down the best Illinois had to offer-it did hurt him in the long run.
4-6 seconds from point A to point B and when you get to point B, be pissed off
I think it's too late now. The top guys in Illinois don't really give coaches a chance to pipeline their schools because most of them get publicity through Core 6, the program that they train with. Pocic, LTT, Clifton Garrett, Spearman, Isaac, and I believe Treadwell also, play for Core 6, and it allows all midwest schools and beyond to have access to these kids before Illinois can have any sort of stretegical advantage with them.
Interesting that Michigan offered the relatively unknown 2-3 star guy over Day after both were in their camp this week....
With a top DB class and then potential adding for Von Bell, this should end up being a good move for both Illnois and tOSU
