I recently attended a Buckeyes baseball game with a buddy of mine who doesn't attend OSU. It was the first OSU baseball game I had been to in years, so I wasn't sure of the procedure for students getting into the game. I figured it was just like football where you just flash any BuckID, minus the whole paying for tickets thing. I planned on letting my buddy borrow my old BuckID I still have from undergrad and I planned on using my new BuckID from pharmacy school. The workers at the gate asked if we were students and we said yes. They let us through the gates and pointed toward a gentleman with a BuckID card swiper. This naturally led to an "oh shit" moment. I was sure the dude was going to take my old BuckID and lecture me about trying to abuse the system. I'm not sure how, but my old BuckID worked and we both got into the game just fine.
I'd really like to use my old BuckID to get my buddy into football games this fall, but I don't want to risk it if they're going to be swiping BuckIDs. I'm thinking it was just a fluke that my old BuckID worked at the baseball game.
Does anyone know if they will be swiping BuckIDs at football games this year?
