Eifert will probably have the best numbers of any TE. Toilolo, Pedersen, Fiedorowicz, Lutzenkirchen, Ertz and even Reed could all have good years. I do think Stoneburner is a Top 3 TE, and still have yet to comprehend how we convinced him to ever come here.
Stoneburners 2012 stats- 23 catches for 350 yards....Stoneburners is one of those August All-Americans, he's gonna do this, he's gonna do that, but he only really does 15 catches for 300 yards. Reid Fragel impressed me more as a tight end.
John Blair must like Woody's version of a tight end, a slightly smaller right tackle. The fact that Stoneburner was essentially unguardable in the redzone (as proven by his TD to Reception ratio) is clearly evidence of his skills as a TE. Who knows what he will do this year, but I have to figure this offense will show that he is 100x the tight end of Fragel... Even Fragel know his place in the offense offering to become a real tackle.
Stoney has been able to put up great numbers at tight end, with the likes of T.P. and Braxton at QB, when linebackers and safeties are more worried about the mobile QB than they are a tight end running a route. We'll see. Hope I'm wrong.
Actually, most of stoneys production came from with the baus under center last year. Once they made the switch to braxton, they went full on walrus ball. And with the small glimpse they had of stoneys playmaking ability, added to the lack of any game changer on the outside made it a no brainer to opposing dcs to shadow stoney and make miller beat them over the top. If urban has identified him as one of his playmakers you can be sure he will find ways to get him the ball. Stoney is a stud...he has wr hands, speed and athleticism in a te body. You need not look any further than the numbers hernandez put up in urbans offense. Pretty sure stoney is bigger, faster and just not as, maybe a little more athletic than hernandez. I for one am looking forward to seeing what he can do when given the opportunity to be a focal point of the offense.
He's the best, as far as I'm concerned.
... ditto.
Looks like some Arky fans were on there...I've never really heard too much of Chris Gragg
"You win with people." - Woody Hayes
Honestly I haven't heard of a lot of guys on the list.
12 or 14 catches (I forget which) won't get you a ton of recognition. I'm sure that he'll be much more recognized by the end of the year.
stoney, without a doubt
Eifert
Fauria
Ertz
Lutzenkirchen
Stoneburner
in that order.

He's going to produce more then 15 catches for 300 yards, this is a completely different offensive philosophy then what were use to seeing.

My only concern for Stoneburner is he has been a bit injury prone ... I think he has a great season if he plays every game ...
