A poster (RDubs deserves the credit for the Rittenberg find) earlier linked Adam Rittenberg's piece on ESPN about the B1G's playoff position:

SEC Blogger Chris Low, he of three chins, Diabetes Type 2 and other ailments, including butthurt posted his rebuttal in the SEC blog: http://espn.go.com/blog/ncfnation/post/_/id/61800/secs-playoff-position-...

The conceitedness that the SEC fans show is appauling to me. How have none of them given the example of Auburn's 13-0 season that left them out of the NC game? They were conference champs and got left out and they had a good amount of complaints about it. This could happen again, and then what? Are they going to argue that their conference is still better? It just goes to show their football IQ.
maligned as he may sometimes be, i like rittenberg. It takes guts to go after the sec so directly, especially given that 80% of his colleagues are in bed with the sec
Low's argument is ridiculous. All of his arguments ignore the fact that there would be a wild card spot for a non-conference champ.
Chris Low takes offense at Rittenburg implying that folks in SEC country are slow to grasp concepts, so Low then proceeds to make several stupid points - that'll fix us arrogant Yankees!
First, Low claims that the Big Ten's position is generated entirely out of fear. The Big Ten is scaredy pants! Hmmm . . . when I want to convince someone of my point of view, what better strategy than to insult his manhood? Low's "analysis" is really reassuring that the SEC has the Big Ten's interests at heart.
Second, Low argues:
So, according to Low's logic, apparently MLB does not have a playoff because it constrains playoff participants to three division winners + a wildcard. If the three teams from the AL East finish among the top 4 best records in the AL, still only two make the playoffs.
Third, Low suggests that he and Saban know what the great majority of fans want, which is the SEC's position. When did Saban/Low conduct a scientifically-based poll of cfb fans - Did I miss that?
I couldn't even get through Low's rebuttal. It's people like him that make it impossible to have a reasonable discussion about football. Sucks when football gets added to religion and politics as things that can't be discussed intelligently.

Thank you for the shout out, I figured that this board would like to see that post since we get pretty worked up about ESPN's reporting as it relates to OSU and the B1G more generally.
ESPiN at its finest...http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/7993698/ohio-state-buckeyes-cancel-georgia-bulldogs-home-home-series
^^Read the article and listen to the video. We did indeed cancel the game and ESPN clearly explains why. And Bennett, surprisingly, commends us for our typical non conf scheduling. Once again, nothing out of the ordinary here.
I did. I guess it just struck me as weird that bennett needed to feel the need to say that some might think we chickened out. oh well, i hate the off-season. I'm getting stir crazy without real football news to talk about.
Yea, I generally dont like Bennett either. That's why I was actually surprised at his attempt to give us props. His comment about chickening out didn't bug me. The SEC types are going to run with that thought process anyway...he was just pointing it out.
3 more months to kickoff!!!
I'm going to troll the heck out of the SEC'ers when we play Vanderbilt next year.

Hey Cincy - Maybe your right, maybe ESPN is not the devil. Your always very quick to point that out & that's great. For the most part they are reporting fairly as of late - especially since Urban came on board. However - at bare minimum you do at least concede that Mark May is biased? Right?
