From everything I have read, I fully believe AA was going to de-commit regardless of the photo with the Infamous Twitter McCreepster. But having the pic out there made it 'easier' to walk away and gave an excuse. Now he's saying it wasn't the pic? I just think his dad never wanted him at OSU in the first place.

Not sure who you are talking about who only has an ECU offer and no other big names offers other than Brunson. All the other guys who had ECU offers that I know of (Neal, Marcus, and McNeil) have big offers as well.

What I don't get about Anzalone is that he seemed enamored by Ohio State. I am very surprised by this and also starting to think this picture was a way to get out of his commitment. Any one want to speculate what the real reason was?
I honestly think dad put some influence there. It was almost like AA was forced to say that he wasn't considering OSU anymore until his dad rescinded some of his comments, and now Anzalone is at least fairly high on us again. It doesn't line up

@Rational, There was speculation he commited (after the Spring game) without running it by Helo-Dad, Helo-Dad was displeased with jr's selection. Or, he just got caught up in the moment and commited early, had had an original plan to take his recruitment process more slowly, visit more schools, and his decommit is an attempt to return to the mean. I honestly don't know though.

Rational - I think its simple. Alex loved OSU, Daddy didn't. At first the picture with a Certain Wing Establishment Trivia Guru was to blame, and now its not the reason given for the decommit. I have read about depth chart concerns, about committing too early, and etc., but I really do think Alex loved OSU, Daddy didn't and wanted him to take a step back and re-assess things.
I think there were three key factors leading to the Anzalone decommitmeny. First, as others have already pointed out, Sal Anzalone was/is not sold on OSU. He's a Florida guy, and presumably wants his son to give the Gators a longer look. Second, Sal's comments after Alex's decommitment indicate a bit of antipathy toward OSU (there's something wrong there, or some similar words) that I expect might be at least partly influenced by our year long trip through the mud courtesy of ESPN, SI, et al. Finally, something to consider about the Anzalone decommitment that I haven't heard mentioned yet is that Anzalone is from PA and therefore has had a front seat for the Sandusky/PSU scandal. This might have made both father and son a little more reactive to the perv pic than was merited. Given the previous two points, the picture provided the final push out the door.
Concerning Anzalone, lets just look at what we DO know...this young man made three (3), not two but three, visits to tOSU in a little over a month all on his dads dime. His family was well aware of his interest in the Buckeyes. They came down as a family for the Spring Game (if Im remembering correctly) and directly after the game Alex gave his verbal commitment to UFM. The rumors his father didnt want Alex to attend tOSU is BS in my mind. Who shells out the cash for their son to come to a single university 3x in a month knowing he doesn't want, or wont let, his son go there? I'm pretty sure Alex, and his parents, knew a tOSU commit was coming that weekend. So, still leaves us with the question...what the hell happened??? Depth chart (really) ?? Pic w/ an A-Hole? Cold feet, indecision?? We may never really know why. I really like Anzalones talent on the field and he seems like an intelligent kid but he seems to have no backbone. Perhaps daddy still runs the show for him. I hope he ends up at Ohio State where his gut instinct, and three visits, told him he should be.
