Excerpt from an article on Jalen Ramsey
Sticking with football: State championship aside, Jalen Ramsey knows where his bread is buttered.
The Brentwood Academy junior defensive back, who has a number of football scholarship offers from schools such as Southern Cal, Nebraska, Ohio State, Penn State and most of the Southeastern Conference, is still focused on football despite his win in the Division II decathlon Tuesday.
"I'm an athlete," he said. "I can do anything that's asked for me to do, on the track or on the football field."
Ramsey said his track exploits have furthered the interest shown by some football coaching staffs.
"They like my explosiveness and the fact I can do multiple things," he said. "I've gotten some positive feedback as far as that aspect."
Ramsey expects to narrow his college options to seven by the end of the summer, he said.
Rodgers' recruitment coming into focus?
Khaliel Rodgers is planning on announcing a list of finalists soon, perhaps as quickly as Sunday evening.
The offensive lineman from Elkton (Md.) Eastern Christian hinted via Facebook, then confirmed to ESPN, that he will announce a final list of schools. Then, he'll begin taking visits in order to make a commitment.
Rodgers has several scholarship offers, most notably from powerhouses like Auburn and Ohio State, among others. Rodgers has shown strong interest in playing football on the West Coast, particularly in Los Angeles. He has visited Southern California but hasn't yet garnered a scholarship offer from the Trojans. There are plenty of ties there. Two of his teammates, defensive lineman Kenny Bigelow and quarterback David Sills, are committed to USC.
Rodgers has also expressed strong interest in UCLA. The three-star prospect recently picked up a scholarship offer from Hawaii.
Texas visits 2014 ILB McMillan
By William Wilkerson | ESPN.com
The Longhorns are still trying to wrap up the final pieces of their 2013 class but coaches have also turned their attention toward 2014.
On Monday, Texas defensive ends coach Bo Davis stopped by to visit sophomore inside linebacker Raekwon McMillan (Hinesville, Ga./Liberty County).
The 6-foot-2, 232-pound prospect already holds offers from Georgia, Georgia Tech, Ole Miss and South Carolina.
Tigers visit Lewis
By Eric Guimaraes
DE Tyquan Lewis of Tarboro, NC has offers from Clemson, USC, Ohio State, LSU, Ole Miss, North Carolina, NC State, East Carolina, Wake Forest, Tennessee and Minnesota among others. He remains very interested in the Tigers. "They came by to see me twice this spring and are telling me they really like me," Lewis said. "I've already visited four or five times and I'm going to go back. I really like it there." USC has not contacted him recently. "I haven't really heard from them lately but I liked it when I visited," he said. Recent Gamecock commit QB Connor Mitch has talked to him about joining him at USC. "He tells me to come and play with him in the SEC," said Lewis. Lewis will visit Ohio State June 10th. "It'll be my first visit there," he said. "They say that if I go there, I could play for a national championship." LSU and Ole Miss are other schools he would like to visit this summer. Lewis plans to narrow his list by July but was unsure of how many teams will make that list. He did not name a favorite.
Recruiting Notes: Khaliel Rodgers Update
Delaware offensive guard prospect Khaliel Rodgers is a player the Buckeyes are expressing a lot of interest in. Khaliel will be in this week's addition of the Recruiting Rundown, which will be released later on to tonight.I exchanged a couple of messages with Khaliel tonight, and he informed me of when he'll be visiting Ohio State and of his new decision date:
- Top 6 (no order) of Auburn, Ole Miss, Ohio State, UCLA, West Virginia, and UConn.
- USC would join that group if they offer.
- Visiting Ohio State "most likely" next Friday.
- On what he wants to see: "Just the basics."
- Now announcing his college decision June 30th, was previously annoucning at US Army Bowl.
- Also visiting Auburn before he decides.

Sounds like according to a tweet by Alex that Rodgers is geting news of an usc offer today.

yeah, that could shake things up a bit if USC offers soon
IMHO I think its getting kinda sad that these kids are making announcements (about when they plan to announce) that they have cut the list of schools down to a smaller list of schools.
Then, have another announcement about when the announcement of which school they (from the smaller list of schools) plan to attend will be.
Finnaly the "big announcement" day comes - and they have another announcement pushing the date back because they need more time to think. GEEESH!!
/rant over
I know there's a game saturday, and my ass will be there.
Another offer went out today
@Buckeyeeddie
These kids do work hard in order to recieve this recruitment oppurtunity, the cutting down of schools is something all kids probably do and always have done even an average teenager going to college. The announcing of what schools are in their "top 5" publicly is fueled on by the media and because we as viewers enjoy seeing it when our school makes a top school list for a recruit. The pushing back of dates is no problem if a kid is still trying to figure out where they want to go to school, its a big life decision for them and they shouldn't be rushed if they need time to rethink things.

IMHO we ain't getting Rodgers. He sounds all west coast and is just waiting for that offer from USC so he can go out west and be with Bigelow. Hopefully parents can talk some sense into him and they want him closer to home( Maryland) Buckeyes are running out of options for OL (Pocic then ???)
I thought Raekwon McMillan had an offer from TOSU also?
Yes^
@bj I know the kids work very hard and it is a big deal to get an offer, I wasnt trying to diminish what they achieve. I didnt mean for it to come off that way. I also wouldnt want them to rush into a decision they were not ready to make. that said...
What does bother me is that it seems like the process of picking not only the pool of schools let alone the school they choose to attend is turning into an out and out circus. Whether its prima donna athletes or helicopter media to blame i dunno.
What sucks is, I'm to blame too by helping to perpetuate the process i'm bashing. so there's that.
In a nutshell a wish more guys did it like bosa, send a text or a tweet and move on.
btw, i'm not trying to say you're wrong in any way or start a pissing contest over an ill-concieved rant i probably should have just kept to myself anyways.
I know there's a game saturday, and my ass will be there.
No worries, I'm not looking for any arguemens either
@Adamant I agree on Rodgers, sounds like he wanted USC offer, and if he really does get one today, I doubt he doesn't go there.... Hopefully we can impress Dorian Johnson and take him away from Pitt or PSU and lock up Pocic, then maybe Lovell Peterson or someone like him impresses to where they get an offer at camp.

I am a little surprised we aren't recruiting OL a lot harder (and didn't from the start) considering everyone says this is a very shallow position of ours.
Lewis was offered quite awhile ago I believe.
Yeah he was, today Lewis made it public in an interview
I think Peterson could make a solid tackle or center and I take him along with Pocic. I saw on another site that D. Johnson is pretty much a lock for PITT. Not to many guys left on the board that are legit stud OL guys but I feel we will be fine with Pocic, Lisle, Peterson and next year we go hard on top OL prospects. I don't know why Urban didn't go hard on OL this year but I'd assume eventually he will have no choice because the depth is getting limiting. I also think he puts more stock in D-line,LBs, DBs and less in O-line but that is just my opinion.
millertime: I seriously doubt UFM and Co. weren't recruiting O-linemen hard. For as much knowledge as we are privy too, there's probably even more we don't know about.
