South Bend Tribune - Notre Dame football: Jaylon Smith set to visit ND again
Fort Wayne junior running back Jaylon Smith is one of Notre Dame's top targets in the current recruiting cycle. Smith plays for Bishop Luers High School. (The News-Sentinel/CHAD RYAN / August 19, 2011)
Notre Dame will have another opportunity to impress one of the top targets in the 2013 football recruiting class this weekend.
247Sports.com national recruiting writer Steve Wiltfong reported Friday that Fort Wayne, Ind., linebacker Jaylon Smith would be making an unofficial visit to Notre Dame this weekend.
"Notre Dame's in outstanding shape for him," Wiltfong said of the 6-foot-3, 202-pounder from Bishop Luers High. "I think they're the team to beat. This visit only can help them lengthen their lead."
The visit will mark Smith's third trip to South Bend this spring. This time, Wiltfong said, Notre Dame will have the chance to focus on Smith without a large number of visitors or spring practice to worry about. Smith is making the visit with his father.
"I think they're really going to show Jaylon all the bells and whistles that the Notre Dame football program has to offer," Wiltfong said.
The strongest competition for Smith comes from Ohio State, where Smith's older brother, Rod, plays running back. Jaylon Smith is ranked by 247Sports.com as the No. 1 outside linebacker and No. 6 overall prospect in the country for his class.
GoUpstate - Clemson and USC make Josh McNeil's next cut
TE Josh McNeil of Durham, NC continues to reduce his list. Friday he announced on Twitter a final 11...Clemson, USC, Ohio State, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Miami, NC State, Oregon, Cal and East Carolina. McNeil said he will announce his decision July 5th at the ESPN combine The Opening at Oregon. Last season McNeil had 58 catches for 575 yards and 6 touchdowns. He did not indicate a favorite.

I really hope OSU can land Jaylon Smith, but it really seems like he loves Notre Dame.
Is it just me or does Josh Mcneil seem to add more schools each time he cuts his lists of school lol
Favorite Buckeye: Obviously BJ Mullens
An endless string of disappointing seasons, and delusionally entitled fans who will pelt you with snowballs if you let them down.
I clicked on it... I regretted it immediately...
They do have Touchdown Jesus. Not sure if that counts as a bell or a whistle.
That's all for tonight

If you ain't a Silver Bullet, you're a target
Raekwon McMillan @Kwon_daTRUTH
I'm gonna go ahead and say ,, if Da'shawn Hand commits to Ohio State ,, im going too , #BuckeyeNation #gobucks
I can't even put into words how huge that would be.
I wouldn't cheer for Michigan if they were playing the Taliban.
i know it's super early, but looks like we're in good shape for #1, 3, 12, 14 and 19 in 247's rankings for 2014
If we could somehow land McMilan and Hand, that would be absolutely insane!
Right on Alex, good for you. Quite unfortunately I can't say I'd take my talents to tOSU if I were you.
October 20th: National Kenneth Guiton Day
not sure how much it is towards his decommitment as opposed to his dad's words on the situation regarding the institution that hundreds of thousands of fans bleed for (figuratively speaking)
@Dubjay
Absolutely. Not sure what the kid expected after his dad threw the school under the bus. I'm not personally holding anything against him, but it's kinda par for the course when your family makes those types of disparaging remarks.
Every school has a handful of obnoxious fans, we all know that. But this kid committed, generated a TON of hype, and then abruptly decommitted in a very public fiasco, with signs that he was never on board to begin with. Honestly, I can see why he did it, but I was upset, like a lot of other fans.
Honestly, he couldn't have expected OSU fans to be completely understanding after what he did, and some of what his father said. But even if he is mad about the reaction, he should realize that if he recommits, all will be forgiven.
I wouldn't cheer for Michigan if they were playing the Taliban.
Yup, there are consequences to all actions. A recruit decommits with his dad making some hot headed and disturbing remarks about the school, people get upset. Some of those people make hot headed and disturbing remarks about recruit and dad, and recruit gets upset. Whatever. Neither side is blameless.
I think the bigger point is not who's to blame, but that fact that he would have gotten the same reaction had the same thing happened at any other program in the country. Talk about bad luck.
Fans being disappointed are one thing, its another thing entirely to act the way some fans did with their tweets about him and his family. I was actually embarrassed by some of the things our "fans" sent to him that he re-tweeted.
Its going to suck losing Anzalone. However him and his dad handled this like they dont know what can happen in real life. I just really hope Bosa stays
mark may wins douchebag of the year... again
